Because the VNs are niche on the niche even in Japan. The developers really makes "all or nothing" situations with their releases as one bomb can destroy the company, just like happened to ChuableSoft in 2017 that went down with a bomb next to their award winning title.
Also, Japan is more expensive in everything than the US.

I absolutely loved it. I mean it had its weak points for sure, but all things considered it was a huge and grand world that was really interesting to explore and see grow and change alongside your actions. Full of likeable characters and an interesting enough story.
But I guess this marks the day where I'll have to stop entering the threads, in fear of having the sequel spoiled.

Hopefully they'll somehow manage to get Evenicle II localized before the end of 2021 at the latest, but we'll see. I fear that it could take even longer.

I feel they'll delay Rance X and give us Evenicle 2 earlier than it because RX is fucking massive. If we're ultra lucky we get it before Rance 9 otherwise 2021 after 9 is out. I suspect Sengoku and Quest will come out this year with 9 next year.

Delaying Rance for Evenicle is likely going to enrage Rancefags everywhere, but honestly even though I love Rance I'd honestly prefer it this way.

I mean it wouldn't so much be a delay as you have what around was it 400 or something hours to playtest through, that shit's long. Plus it's not like Rancefags will be getting shafted, they'll have Sengoku to replay and Quest (with Magnum Expansion) and presumably 9 to play through. They'd have plenty to play through while waiting for what is one of the longest games released with a definitive end. Giving us an 80 hour RPG in between all these longer releases is hardly unfair.

Artist have their own quirks in their drawings so getting samefaces is only natural, but I don't think is like Hikage outside of the hair.
As for the other questions, this is a new world and not the same as the first game although you can find cameos of previous characters.
