At my local arcade, i always tried to play tekken 5, but the lines were crazy af. There was DDR extreme, fightmania, XX2, and cvs2 to keep me occupied while i wait for my quarter to be up. There was only one cute grill that played ddr. I ended up dating her for a year and she was an annoying spoiled bitch that branded me in my sleep. She was salty about some petty online pics i still had up.
I miss having a local arcade to go to. No one wants to travel outside to play games anymore and barcade are nice, but the cabs are mostly busted.

arcades are still a thing? i miss going to them as a kid but i always thought nowa days they are either gone for just plain shit now.

It’s a super tight knit underground community. Kind of like fighting games but way less competitive. They come out later at night.

i live in shithole AZ so i doubt there are any good places. closest i've got is a D&B but i hate it cause most of the machines are broken from drunks

All the ones in my city got replaced by those child gambling set ups. Last "one" is like a few machines at the kinoplex.

It begs the question, how well could an arcade sell off boomer nostalgia if someone started one today?

Dude nice. Barcades are okay but it's a completely different vibe I've noticed. It's full of hipsters. The mall near me has a small arcade that also sells manga and shit, weeb central and you can smell the fucking B.O from outside. It's cheap, they take care of their cabinets, and it's cheap so I don't mind going once in awhile.

You really have to look around and get in touch with people. I live in the Midwest and there's one near me that has a few classics and some import cabinets. Idk how much longer they will be open though because the mall they are in is on life support.

Dave and Busters, but half their machines are literally just arcade cabinets of terrible mobile games like Angry Birds and the other half are broken light gun games.

Just see if there's a local Facebook group for arcade shit. I'd love to get some cabinets but it's expensive as fuck takes a lot of room and you have to learn how to keep them in working order. Would be fun but an expensive hobby for sure.

Black scene/goth girls were the rarest of the rare, but were basically always really hot. Very odd phenomenon.

I'm lucky enough to live about 20 minutes from a small one, I'd never leave an arcade that size though. Time Crisis is fucking awesome. foot pedal is so satisfying. House of the Dead fags btfo.
