I summon Master and Expert
I summon Master and Expert
Fuck outta here, weeb boy. This is a Magic The Gathering website.
Yugioh is the better game, or at least it was.
When it was pepe and monarchs yugioh was an elder god tier game
damn 1200 is a lot of attack power! how will I ever defeat that with my
This was the last good booster pack if you ask me
I summon Man-Eater Bug in Attack position! Your move, Yea Forums.
I dont really remember the booster packs i just played on ygopro and thwn i saw when new cards came out cause they added them before release
Vorse Raider in Attack mode. Destroy his Man-Eater Bug!
>Vorse Raider
more like Worse Raider
FUCK fenix
user, is this a joke?
Anyone got the image macro that compares Yugioh and MTG through sex and all the special summons?
I flip my Number 92 Heart Earth Dragon into face up attack mode and attack Vorse Raider, you lose 1900 life points
not if I do THIS
>in attack position
oh shit nigger what are you doing
From the bottom of my heart, I find some pleasure in YGO but the moment I looked into and played MtG for the first time I knew instantly that, not perfect, but a better game in every regard: yes.
YGO's central design choices are "let's change it from MtG to avoid copywrite issues", and its extraneous gimmicks are just that, hilariously pedantic and messed up stuff that only Japs could write.
What even is "Vorse"? I like the sound of it but wonder what weird backtranslation of English-to-nip-to-English-again is going on. Awesome card anyhow.
vore horse
I was the same, but MTG became shit
probably norse but they just replaced a letter
I’m going to play it!
holy shit this would actually work good job user
Based
Never thought of that, thought of it in terms of Vortex + Force + different spelling to be edgeh.
I don't think the new summoning mechanics are inheritly bad I just think the tempo of the game has increased too much, alongside the barrier for entry being too high due to the game existing for over decades
Get fuged
True but that's more just current Wizords of Coaste not trying properly anymore. Also because Lands have never been a great system, and in truth completely randomised decks and card hands is unnecessary to make matches unpredictable or progress in a feasible manner.
I guess it's meant to sound like norse, so he's like a viking.
>He loves it!
Not if I break through your stall cards first
Holy fucking clutter, Batman.
I can't think of any prospective audience that would have an easy time deciphering this card. There's an edgy in-yer-face aesthetic and there's destroying the point of the product.
>we will never get a sequel to this masterpiece
He doesn't look very viking tho
Anyone who plays Superlight Vikings here?
I still have that card :D
I loved Gren Maju Da Eiza, for it's effect, its pretty cool visuals and for its fucking name. It sounds like a restaurant name in Welsh. Just say it in a Welsh accent, it works.
A LOT of the English Yugioh terms are bullshit they used to avoid making sense. They refused to use the word "Death", replacing it with "Des" instead. Des isn't a fucking thing, desu.
what would happen if I press my dick against that card?
This was my last deck years ago, they are so pretty hahaha love it
You can always play the cleaner pussy-version of the card.
He got horns tho.
NOBLE CHADS
Great.
I got a question, what is the best way to bring out Woodmus?
Swarming the field with Chimbi JaaJaa is fucking impossible these days.
>banish 10 cards to draw 2 cards
isnt that counter productive? you just threw 1/4 of your deck to the garbage
you are literally the reason why non MTG TCG thread get shunned off /tg/. When are you going to realize that physical card game media is dying a slow and imminent death and the thing you are most concerned about is fucking gatekeeping and elitism? Living Card Games have already come and gone. You are not far behind.
Aye, that's why it's occuring to me to ask if anyone has a fucking clue what "Vorse" is a stand-in for.
I think it would've been funny if every instance of death was changed to FINAL like the destiny board. So you have FINAL KOALA, FINAL FROG and so on.
Chapped dick.
>And then there THIS cunt
if it was unlimited people would unironically play three of them. NEVER underestimate what people will do for a +1
That's basically not much better.
>pussy-version
pic
>even as a COMMON IN A STRUCTURE DECK forehead loli is still ten dollars
You're never going to draw like 8 or 7 of those cards because of searchers anyway, that and the duel ending. At least with the two new cards you can maybe win or win faster. Plus most boss monsters are in the Extra Deck so you're not throwing them away.
Not every deck can run pot of desires, but the decks that can benefit more than they lose from the draw 2 effect.
Depends on the deck, tbdesu
In a Gren Maju deck it has the potential to give you a 4000atk (likely higher) beater and a +1
In other decks it might not be worth throwing away 10 cards though
Nice try kiddo
jesus christ the 4D Chinese Checkers people played trying to break this card.
>SUNDAY
And it worked considering it's limited now
Know what an onomatopeya is? Well its like that but without actually meaning anything specific. And it works. Brainlets will disagree.
I play endymion the founding sorcerer supreme
>limiting a card that needs a second copy of itself to have its' effect proc correctly
OH KONAMI
>Ore no turn!
>Dorō!
>First, I set four cards
>Now I summon my trusty companion, Luster Dragon!
>And for my last move, I play Mage Power and equip it to Luster Dragon! Giving it a massive power of 4400 Attack Points!
Your turn, Yea Forums!
Post Yugioh cards that are literally you
Set 5 summon Fire hand in attack position end turn
What do you think of legacy of duelist thats coming to the switch
Real talk, how the FUCK did Joey summon this without fusion?
It could just be Kaiju'd.
Yugioh's aggressively clean localization is the worst thing ever, especially when they replace terms in contexts when it makes no sense.
>Prophecy archetype monsters are named after the Major Arcana
>Death and Devil are renamed to Reaper and Destroyer, respectively, ruining the references
>could have easily just kept the french tarot names if it was an issue, but didn't
Here ya go, user
Early YGO didnt have rules, that's why you have duels where Yugi used Turtle Cannon to shoot a castle and the debris kills the monsters below it
>fissure
Magibullets
they did
pardon the r*ddit
reddit.com
Because Flame Swordsman wasn't a fucking fusion in the manga. Tons of cards are different. Summoned Skull was a level 7.
Perfect, thanks user.
>Chthonian
Pre-Duelist Kingdom (or first edition) rules
Getting this out of the way first, the first edition rules were used in the first and second duels between Yugi and Kaiba. Direct attacks were allowed, and only Monster and Spell cards existed. (Trap cards did not exist yet.)
Duelist Kingdom Rules
The game was greatly expanded upon and many different types of cards were introduced. Not just Trap cards, but also Illusion, Virus, and Trap-Spell cards, among others. Many cards we are familiar with were originally one of these unfamiliar types. For example, Copycat was an Illusion card, while Graverobber was a Trap-Spell card.
Some basic rules:
Direct attacks were NOT allowed.
If you're unable to play a defending monster on your turn, you lose the duel.
Destroying monsters by card effects will deal proportional amounts of damage, depending on the exact card. Sometimes it's half the total ATK (e.g. Time Wizard, Catapult Turtle), sometimes it's the total ATK (e.g. Jigen Bakudan).
Spells can be used at any time.
Traps are triggered when the activation requirement is met.
The gameplay incorporated aspects of Dungeons and Dragons (DnD), but with cards instead of paper and pen. So the rules were very flexible compared to the TCG rules.
The Playing Field
The playing fields used in the Duel Boxes are 8x5 grids, while the game board used in Pegasus's castle is an 8x6 grid. Players are not required to place cards neatly in the grid boundaries. In fact they can place the cards off-grid or even off-board, as seen here and here. Decks and backrow cards are often placed behind the field or slightly overlapping both the field and the table.
But this was specifically a fusion monster. It was even purple in the dub's edited cards
bazinga
fucking deviantart
cthonian at least sounds kinda cool and less generic than hell soldier
Because it was actually a normal monster but Konami turned it into a fusion for some reason. Then when 4kids dubbed the anime they turned it purple because it was a fusion in the card game. Same thing happened with Giltia.
Endymion is a fun card, he doesn't really need a retrain, just a couple dork magician style supports
I kinda wish the d&d style rules were in real life with yugioh where you could combine monster attacks for weird effects like attacking the castle to smash other monsters. It would've smashed magic in complexity
>Posting farfa memes
Go back
Maybe it‘s a censored version of vore. It‘s called ”Gefräßiger Angreifer“ in the German dub, gefräßig meaning gluttonous.
>YGO's central design choices are "let's change it from MtG to avoid copywrite issues", and its extraneous gimmicks are just that, hilariously pedantic and messed up stuff that only Japs could write.
It's literately a love letter to MtG. In no way was the author an amazing game designer. A lot of yugioh just served a purpose of making intense scenes happen and the children that read the comic just kept asking for more card games. And as soon as it went on to it's final arc in Egypt memory land with D&D nobody cared and it got a rushed ending due to that and health issues (Priest Seto's story was cut)
I guess I'm trying to say is Yu-Gi-Oh was never supposed to go this far as a game and most of the blame on it's current design goes to Konami not knowing what the fuck to do.
I reposted it from here last night you supreme jerk
It's unlimited...
[blocks your path]
It's that time again Yea Forums
Reveal the ace up your sleeve

Here's your Pot of Greed bro

What this means is that the playing field is almost more of a guideline than a strict requirement to be followed, and the DnD gameplay is similarly flexible in its restrictions. As an example, in the TCG and OCG, we are often very casual with our Card Zones. We don't always make cards line up as if they were on a proper grid, as long as it's clear to the other player. We also put banished cards anywhere. It's the same idea. There is a great deal of flexibility.
In Duelist Kingdom, half the strategy in the game is how you use the playing field. For example, Yellow Luster Shield can cover a large area or a small one, but the larger the shield, the weaker it becomes. Monsters can hide behind other monsters. Mystic Box and Shift can change monster locations. Giant Soldier of Stone can act as an island if submerged underwater. Maiku, Burning Land, Leviathan, and Castle of Dark Illusions all cause drastic changes to the terrain.
The Field Power Bonuses are an example of how the playing field can affect combat. Often, they give a 20% stat increase, but they have may other effects like hiding Water creatures in the Ocean (in the same vein that our TCG Field Spells can have other effects).
Adding to the terrain are type advantages. Most of these are straightforward, like fliers being unaffected by close-range attacks on land, water conducting electricity, or fire burning away forestry. Some are less intuitive, like dinosaurs being weak to fire, or certain machine monsters having anti-magic armor.
Type advantages are sometimes a flat stat increase (e.g. Flame Swordsman losing 300 ATK against Water creatures), other times they negate the Field Power bonuses of the disadvantaged creature (e.g. Whenever Harpie Lady attacked a ground unit).
>the TCG localization team uses Magibullet for 魔弾
>but Vullets were censored to Rokkets
+Double Utopia
Unless you only have Borreload Dragon then I'm fucked
There is an entire system of Magic Alignment, where the four alignments (White, Black, Demon, and Illusion magic) form a non-transitive loop (e.g. like Rock-Paper-Scissors). /u/emillang1000 describes it here reddit.com
Now for a big one: Fusion.
How does Fusion work?
Polymerization is a card that can fuse ANY two or more monsters together. How the fusion monster is determined is not explained, but it probably combines D&D gameplay and a chart that lists different combinations of monsters. We do know that the fusion has to be deterministic, as Gaia the Dragon Champion and Blue-eyes Ultimate Dragon were summoned more than once.
There is some logic to determining if a fusion is successful. For example, Kaiba combined Mystic Horseman with Battle Ox because they were both mythological creatures and hence supposed to be compatible. Note: I DON'T completely agree with Kaiba's reasoning, but it does implies that you can't just combine two random things and get something good. And this was the reason why combining Mammoth Graveyard with Ultimate Dragon worked the way it did, even if it required some D&D gameplay: the two monsters weren't compatible.
Fusion monsters did not exist as physical cards. On the field, you would have your fusion materials and Polymerization (if used.) This is why XYZ Dragon Cannon counted as three tributes: because it was composed of three separate monster cards. In Battle City, it appears that Polymerization would go to the graveyard after being used, but the fusion materials would remain on the field.
I stopped playing this shit when I noticed the only artwork for new cards are lolis and moeshit for waifufags.
So if for whatever reason you don't use an extra deck, it essentially becomes 2 free cards
