They could just focus on new enemies, boss patterns, new zones, etc. I'm sure they will be fine without her for a while, she will find the way home soon.

A demi-god.

Just as cute

He reminds me of don quixote

Bugs in the game mostly dont 1:1 correspond to real ones (exceptions include bees, the stag), but are inspired by them instead.

That said, Hornet is some unholy union between Herrah and the Pale King, and possibly a science experiment.

Hornet is a cute bug.

how the fuck can anyone not like these games?

I asked my best friend to play and he stopped after ten minutes because he didn't like the sombre tone.
This same friend 100%'d Binding of Isaac though.

Is it actually female or is that a Yea Forumsirgin meme?

What do you think Hollow Knights first words will be? Hopefully the game begins right after he crawled out of the black egg to Hornet.

But she has a voice. Vessels don't.

the first time i tried hollow knight i quit after 30 minutes because the start is just really boring
it took me multiple youtube videos and Yea Forums threads to try again and im glad i did

I think Hollow Knight may have had one because he was a knight for a little bit before being sealed in the black egg.

>Myla fig

Attached: 1459226311735.gif (500x375, 483K)

G A M E P L A Y

Most bugs don't have a mouth. The hollow knight doesn't have a voice, period.

Other vessels might have voices, they are imperfect after all.

Just started playing this game. About 12 hours in. Its good. The story could be a bit more interesting though.

Most of them are wearing masks user, there must be mouths beneath em
Well, except vessels i guess

Subplot for Silksong is Hollow Knight does everything he can to heal is wounds to save his little sister Hornet, his only form of family left who just got kidnapped.

Also wish I could customize my weapon and characters appearance. Minor nit picks but I like that stuff.

the story is shit but the "lore" is interesting enough if you can piece it together

its a lot like dark souls in that regard actually. the method of telling a story

Does HK even know Hornet?

Hornet is referred to in-game as "The Gendered Child", and has a distinctly female tone. May also be referred to with female pronouns at some point, but I'm not sure.

>the story is shit
How?

Attached: 1550522788567.png (814x1024, 290K)

nothing fucking happens. everything that happened before the game is interesting, everything that is happening during the game is not

mi mama ma, mi ma ma ma

RAAAAAAVIO

Herrah specifically requested a daughter. Hornet is not a veseel, she has emotions, a voice, and a gender as requested in return for becoming a dreamer. She's just made from the same material as them.

The story isn’t really bad, it’s just basic. An old god was dethroned because their light brought eternal life but at the cost of lack of free will, so the Pale King tried to create a vessel out of thousands of his children that he had with the White Lady, combining the, with a dark sort of spirit force from ancient times called The Void. The first success was what is now known as The Hollow Knight, who was thought to be a perfect containment vessel incapable of being corrupted by the Light. However, due to his love of his father, the Knight ended up being corrupted anyways. So the Pale King asked for help from three bugs, asking them to help by being put in an eternal sleep to seal away the Knight and the light. One of them was Herrah, and agreed to do that only if the king gave her a child, and that child was Hornet. The king tries to create more vessels to finally seal the light away for good, and our little friend is the one that finally does it.

You know, just your basic story about bugs.

Zote is the best character in the Game prove me wrong

i said story not lore lol. story is what is happening right now and lore is what happened before

I think she's a spider raised by hornets.

Steel soul mode is breaking me. I can’t ever get more than two dreamers before dying. Any tips?

Is this game supposed to have horrible input lag or is my mediocre when purchased 7 years ago laptop not able to hand this game for some reason?

Isn't that the other way around? With some VOID.

Hollow Knight actually radiance screams at the start of his battle, PV does the same animation but there's only silence because he has no voice

Nah, she's the seed of Pale King inserted into Spider queen Herrah then goes to live with bees.

Attached: I sCREAM.jpg (400x294, 38K)

You're just being pedantic now. Learning about what happened is the appeal, it allows for the game to be full of more exciting fights instead of cinematics. It also creates a lonelier atmosphere one would get from exploring a ruin, and makes exploration more personal. Plus learning about the lore gives the story context, you're doing what you're doing because of the lore. The 'story' works well because the lore is good, in other words.

Moths are cute and fluffy soft. Void is cold, nasty black shit that probably leaves stains on clothes so no thanks.

>You're just being pedantic now.
no thats a real distinction

when you're one hit away from dying you press pause, Quit Game, reload from last bench and git guder

To you madlads trying to beat all the pantheons/radiant fights, how long has it taken you to get to wherever you are, because god damn I only just started on my current replay and I feel like this is gonna take a while

took me a week to complete all 5.
Last 2 pantheons gave me an aneurysm.

He was truly a benevolent being, doing his best to give nice things until the point the peasants kept asking for more and more frivolous things from their Godking so he got disgusted by the normies, warped his home to a pocket dimension and just in case got all them sawblades to secure his eternal peace from the screeching masses. Literally how user would end up if they had omnipotence.

Hopefully Zote because now having Hornet as a protagonist who can talk can effectively call out his bullshit unlike ghost who just stands and stares.

Attached: sawcon.png (521x195, 41K)

most of them have 2 eyes on "face" and 4 limbs while being bipedal. Human aspect >> bug aspect in them.

She is half Spider half... The Pale King use to be a Wyrm, which in all honestly was closer to a Dragon than anything else, though in the context of this world he was suppose to be an Worm God. But by the time he conceived Hornet, he was a not defined tiny bug.

I am very bad. Also things like Grimm and AR, fool can take an extremely long time depending on skill.

Go away Pale King.

this would be the best outcome

I think that's the intent.

I am actually looking forward for the new NPCs, as grim as the original game could be, the NPCs were always full of personality and even surprisingly funny a lot of the times, and now with Hornet being a character able to interact with them, I am looking forward for those interactions.

Attached: 1537541145583.png (500x450, 146K)

Real talk boys, on a scale from Zote to Absolute, how devastating will it be to follow Hornet on her journey as she slowly forgets everything about Hallownest, the ifnection and the Knight as she wanders away from the kingdom's borders?

it looks like he has a huge open mouth

She most likely wont, as she is part Wyrm which seem to have minds of their own.
The Pale King's light gave the bugs minds, which means a Wyrm would have their own mind due to the light they emit.

>Paid to escort Zote to safety as a mission
>He doesn't want your help, acts like a prick
>"fuck it, I got a job to do"
>Zote get's pissed, tries to attack you, still as weak as ever
>Get him to safety while he's trying to attack you

Obviously, this could be pretty annoying if handled wrong, so maybe make the area near the starting area and give Zote a lot of health.

should I be putting money in the fountain in the deep area

>Zote starts shit talking you
>Nobody wants to help you anymore
>Have to go on a quest where you make silk statues of Zote that are less than flattering
I like these ideas.

Yea, gives you a soul fragment thingy if you put enough in. Don't worry, you can't over-pay the set amount

I think the whole "losing your memory" is perpetuated bullshit from the Pale King to not let his subjects leave. The only merit he has to keep them is the outside does seem pretty empty and endless but that's because places are so spaced out and far away from eachother as Grimm's bug camels mention.

When did you realize the pale king was a butterfly?

>great wyrm that cast off its shell
>underwent a transformation
>Monarch Wings are an air jump
>looks like pic related in dreams, clearly has wings
>bringing light, but a light that's different from the Moth's

Some probably wants to fuck it anyway

No, no it is canon that normal bugs lose their minds outside of Hallownest. Though it seems that Quirrel didn't and just lost his memories.

Quirrel's dialogue tells he's travelling these lands for the second time and forgot about the 1st time. Doesn't even remember why he has Monomon's mask

Why are these bugs so damn cute

2020, with polish.

Unfortunately, he doesn’t seem to post often, and this is the only Hollow Knight thing he’s done

This is where the King wanted the Collector to place the captured grubs to channel their inconceivable power for his needs.

Hopefully as long as it takes. I hope they dont set a release date until they are bear completion. I dont want them to rush this sequel.m, it can take until 2022. I can wait for it to be finished, completely.

I like it

Not him, but you can argue that the "legs" in the King's silhouette are also wings.

Anyone knows where I can find a replacement save file for Hollow Knight? I was just about to fight the Mantis Lords when my computer fucked itself and deleted my saves.

Attached: 1542360478189.jpg (1024x681, 95K)

Mantis Lords isn't that far in is it?

Use cheats my dude.

Fuck me. I’m gonna think of this again in a month, and I’m gonna start cracking up.

Well done.

CHECK THOSE HIPS ON ISMA THOUGH
NO WONDER OGRIM WAS HITTING THAT

Nigger, you were maybe 2 hours into the game, just replay it. You've probably missed a ton of secrets anyway.

Thanks, user.

Resting Grounds, hands down

Is there an afterlife for the bugs or are they forever cursed to haunt where their body is?

Attached: 1534338027543.jpg (480x480, 58K)

It depends, in my first playthrough I didn't realize when the area of the Mantis Lords opened (I honestly still don't know what triggers it or how I miss it), so by the time I found them I already was over with the Soul Master and finishing the Crystal's Peak.

>"legs"
They have a distinctly different shape. I'm pretty sure that's just his cloak's hemline.

>Crystal Peaks
I think you were doing it in the right order, thing is I did this weirdly and did the Mantis Lords as soon as I could.

Ghosts can and do often just dissolve into dreamstuff/essence or just disappear, like Cloth.

Mantis lords should be the 3rd place you go to (crossroads->green path->fungal wastes), only requires the dash.

For once, is still not clear if there are ghost or just memories, but in any case, both Cloth and the Traitor's daughter move one to the "afterlife" by they own.

FUCK OFF WE'RE FULL

>Hollow Knight is cute
That's not the Hollow Knight, user.

So there's like no afterlife whatsoever? You're just a ghost until you dissolve away?

Daily reminder. The bugs have bones.

Attached: bone stuff.png (1920x1080, 1.77M)

Yeah, just like real life. Except for the ghost part.

Stop posting this nasty furgin made garbage.

Looks like it, though Dreams can have impressions or memories of people after their death.

They're prolly exoskeletons though.

That's exoskeleton plates you dummy.
Not true.

>vertebrae with ribs attached are exoskeletons
>literal human arm copypasted into the game is an exoskeleton
How about no.

But why would anyone would even want to unlock the Deepnest before getting at least one Nail upgrade? And still, I don't know at which point in the Mantis village I did unlock the door to fight them... did I just open the door and didn't notice?

The setting is pretty grim so its safe to assume that if you're dead you go to eternal suffering.

>human arm
Where?

Where? You're just pulling shit out of your ass.

Yes. Souls and essence are just another form of energy in Hollow Knight. You can hear the whispering of bugs when you consume soul for attacks or focusing.

These are the innards of a gruz mother. You gonna tell me that's not a fucking ribcage? Contrarian fuckers.

Attached: 20190221135114_1.jpg (1920x1080, 198K)

It's the switch right after you get the wall jump, opens the top and bottom. And you're right, my first playthrough I beat them and went to deepnest without the lamp or any nail upgrades. That ended up being my only rancid egg use.

I don’t know why, but all the energy source world building (void, essence, soul, lifeblood, crystals) is fascinating to me.

Attached: 2CE0E42B-ED0B-4F13-A0D5-7E1E75D12487.jpg (2225x2958, 403K)

>ask about sources, because I had never seen them before
>f-fucking contrarians! you guys are so dumb!
Chill the fuck out you autistic ape.

How do you know that's Gruz Mother though autist?

The image was posted before, just five seconds ago.

>But why would anyone would even want to unlock the Deepnest before getting at least one Nail upgrade?
Because a first time player has no way of knowing Deepnest is fairly useless until later. On my first playthrough I went Hornet - Mantis Lords - Deepnest - Tram - Kingdom's Edge with unupgraded nail, and that's probably not even the worst way to screw yourself over.

Because I actually paid attention while playing the game.

How the fun does that matter?

I followed the same path as you until Deepnest, where I saw how dark it was and just assume I needed that "expensive ass lantern".

But I guess that only applies to Hallownest bugs right? cause we know that Hallownest, contrary to the King's propaganda, is far from being the only Kingdom in this world.

There is also a small chance that because the bugs of Hallownest are sealed in time to some degree, leaving the seals is what makes them lost their minds, once the weight of time fall upon them.

MATING PRESS

The Little Ghost

I did too and Gruz Mother falls apart after dying, the only thing solid is it's head. Doesn't have a skeleton inside it.

Herrah

The bugs outside of Hallownest rely on instinct, they have no minds of their own. I believe this is in the Quirrel comic? If you'd like to read that it has a tad bit of info on the outside lands.

You can actually see it in an early build of the game. youtu.be/guiYMjOVnOo?t=181

>refers Quirrel comic
>only shows animalistic tiny bugs
Bruh.

The fungal wastes theme is underappreciated

The bugs outside are mindless. It seems that in order to have a mind bugs have to be around a higher being of some sort (Radiance, Pale King, Unn, etc).

He states the reasons they CAN survive outside Hallownest is because of their animistic instincts.

Some other bugs too, like Cloth who is a (not fully matured) cicada. You also forgot FUCKING MOTH SHITS

Nope.

Part of the comic shows Quirrel traveling with another traveler that resembles that bug in the sewers that gives you rancid eggs.

These dudes are cool as fuck. I wish they were stronger.

Attached: tumblr_owpxyjmXRK1uk6k60o1_1280.png (805x750, 192K)

Cloth isn't matured? She-ogre is like the size of a small house.

Just need more art.

These are like the only dudes in the whole game who wear full armor, not bits and pieces like every other bug.

How do I kill these fucking assholes, I can get like one hit without taking damage if I really try, but it takes so much time if they're blocking a way

Attached: fucker.png (440x229, 45K)

I remember that dialogue, even though I vaven't read the comic, but still, besides the fact we know other kingdoms exist even before Silksong was announce (Grim's mere existence depends of that!), Cloth, Tiso, Lemm, Ze'mer (according to the White Lady), Cornifer, Iselda and Zote are all outsiders to Hallownest, and you can argue that only Zote is the mindless one. There is also the Weavers and the Bees, who weren't from Hallownest either. Even Elderbug tale tails of all the bugs who have traveled around the world to explore Hallownest's ruins.

Maybe there is a difference between the "wild lands" and the Kingdoms? and the longer you stay outside a Kingdom, the more primitive you become? There was a theory recently that each Kingdom has it's own gods, and they are the ones keeping their subjects sane.

Here you go. Fun fact: the eye color of the King's Moulds was changed from orange to white after patch 1.4.2.4, probably so people don't think they are infected.

Attached: 1517348488_hk-kingsmould.png (909x958, 383K)

Yup- she has no wings, so she's technically still a nymph. Of course, some species of cicada spend over a decade underground- some of them closer to two whole decades- before emerging to molt and gain their wings, then die after one season.

Cicadas are weird!

They aren't from Hallownest, but the reason they have minds is because of the Pale King's light, user.
It's said that both Radiance and Pale King can give the bugs minds, iirc. Maybe just the Pale King.

She is confirmed to be a Cicada, but she far from a mature Cicada.

Why don't bugs in Hollow Knight wear full suits of armor? I get that they probably have a natural hardened shell but metal is so much better and would protect more.

Attached: 1547811177879.gif (240x180, 2.88M)

Plenty of insects are bigger in their juvenile stage, than their adult stage. Particularly ones that molt, or cocoon.

*in the Hunter's Journal. The real sprite used during combat always had white eyes.

Attached: Kingsmould.jpg (1920x1080, 249K)

I went through Deepnest only having acquired the Cyclone Slash nail art, so I was usually able to get a couple hits in with that and still have enough time to dodge.
You can also just shoot him. Wearing different charms will increase your damage, too.

Design reasons, sometimes it's hard to make a character look cool when they are drenched in metal armour.

All metal goes to making sawblades.

But with
And Early Hollow Knight I have to disagree.

No standardized form for one. Each bug/race of bugs has to get a custom fitted armor, which would be expensive as fuck. Blacksmiths and (good) metal in general seem to be rare too.

I agree with you on Pure Vessel and the Kingsmould, but neither of those have bug based designs which let Team Cherry go fucking ham with whatever they wanted.
The bugs however would be a lot harder to implement, because the intriguing part about their design is how they make bugs into warriors or fighters, not how they put armour on them.

But again, they all came to Hallownest, with their one equipment and weapons, and backstories, looking for fortune or glory, Cornyfer and Iselda already seems to have an story of traveling, Tiso came to Hallownest looking for the Colosseum and Cloth to die in combat to reunite with Nola in a proper way. And again, Grim's mere existence depends of the of other Kingdoms. Elderbug insist, all this bugs came searching for something in the ruins, and Lemm speaks of other Relic Seekers and kingdoms older than Hallownest.

Not to mention the Weavers who are older than Hallownest and leave it before everything went to hell, and now Silksong already confirming that there is more than one Kingdom in fact, so now the question is how the mindless wilderness works.

What does it mean? Why do they look like The Collector?

Attached: Kingsmould_Armourless.png (156x235, 7K)

Thry built their whole damn city and benches out of Iron, there can't be a huge shortage on iron, you're thinking of pale ore that's incredibly rare.

Can you paste the lines that imply these characters come from outside Hallownest? I don't remember them.
There's a line when you go to the outskirts of Hallownest. There's a bug you can dreamnail that has left and has lost it's mind, which makes me sceptical.

Once you beat PV, NKG starts to seem like he moves in slow motion. Also, fuck the last pantheon I ain't doing that shit. Just cut the crap, and put the 20 hardest bosses in the game in. I fucking hate how much of an hp sponge everything is.

The collector and Kingsmould were made from the same void mold.

>Why do they look like The Collector?
Both are void constructs made by the Pale King.

The Knight can cut down those metal poles with a broken ass rusty nail though, so I'm not sure an armor made of them would be all that good
Obviously. But what is the purpose of the Collector? Why did he develop the personality he ultimately has in the game?

I am so happy they decided to make a full game with Hornet.
It's like getting a full Vergil game.

Attached: 786687678468687.png (635x899, 422K)

Those poles are probably hollow on the inside and are built for looks. Proper iron shaped for armor would be much more sturdy.

>Why did he develop the personality he ultimately has in the game?
He absorbed the personality of that bug leaking void from its eyeholes you get the love key from. "Too much time spent together, we become as one."
> But what is the purpose of the Collector?
Maybe quarantining the infected before the king realized what was going on.

I kinda wanna see Yoji Shinkawa draw Hollow Knight fan art.

Attached: 355443534435345.jpg (3507x3480, 1.2M)

>He absorbed the personality of that bug leaking void from its eyeholes you get the love key from. "Too much time spent together, we become as one."
Oh shit, that's a cool theory. It just shifts the chain of questions around more though. What was the tower of love? Why did a void construct spend time with that random servant of the King?

Attached: 435354354354354.png (620x570, 112K)

Attached: 1550746138124.jpg (581x821, 93K)

Iselda's dialogue:
"Of all the places to end up, we've picked this dreary town. I'd thought it a temporary stop, then my husband became obsessed with that old ruin."

Cornyfer has no problems remembering his life outside Hallownest, and he meet Iselda long before coming to the Kingdom

"My name is Cornifer, and I've always loved exploring the world. Why, when I was first hatched I wandered off immediately, leaving my brothers and sisters and poor mother behind! ... That's why as soon as I could I moved to Dirtmouth with my wife."

Some Elderbugs lines:

"Many used to come, hoping the kingdom would fulfill their desires. Hallownest, it was once called. Supposedly the greatest kingdom there ever was, full of treasures and secrets."

"Over the years, all kinds used the well to wriggle into the ruins, wanderers, thieves, adventurers."

Tiso's dialogue implies he is also an outsider that has hear legends about Hallownest:

" If you're in search of combat, you'll find no great warriors in this decaying burrow. I've heard an arena exists somewhere below."

Dialogues from both Cloth and Lemm imply they are also outsiders, though nothing concrete to quote, though Lemm speaks of older Kingdoms than Hallownest, and other Relics seekers to brag about his collection.

And there is Zote, with a long, long backstory of Daddy issues, but most important:

"I came to this kingdom to fulfill a promise... and now I have succeeded!"

And again, Grim's troupe, the Weavers and the Bee's, all rational bugs outside the influence of the Pale King. And Silksong already confirm another Kingdom, so there is no use about arguing from rational bugs outside Hallownest.

Attached: zote hates it.png (193x195, 3K)

>But what is the purpose of the Collector?
Probably just another failed experiment, no logical reason to his behaviour, he want's to collect bugs and maybe protect them from the infection, but Grubs are the only ones that seems to be able to survive in his flask's for extend periods... maybe a forshadowing to their life cycle.

>What was the tower of love?
A whorehouse?
>Why did a void construct spend time with that random servant of the King?
Maybe it was some kind of a bug/void crossbreeding experiment by the King.

How did an E rated game get away with having a whore house?

The lore questions are truly endless. How did the Pale King find another Higher Being to take as Queen? Was there just randomly a god-like tree thing hanging around Hallownest, doing nothing, waiting for a cute Wyrm to date?

Attached: 70840024_p2_master1200.jpg (760x960, 195K)

You would be surprised how much you can imply in all ages media without showing it.

and how did they even fuck?

>How did an E rated game get away with having a whore house?
By calling it a "tower of love" instead of a whorehouse.
How did an E rated game get away with an entire area composed of bodies of dead children?

>oh man I beat the first 3 pantheons in no time at all and got to the boss of the fourth one in one go even if Lost Kin and the Watcher Knights were there, maybe this won't be that hard
>pure vessel

DEATH GOOD
SEX BAD

No!

But they are aussies, not amerimutts.

Maybe, it seems that between the age of the Wyrms and the birth of Hallownest, there were a lot of Gods around the world, like Nightmare King, Radiance and Unn. Maybe the White Lady just heard there was a new guy trying to build a kingdom that just so happen to be the reincarnation of an even elder and powerful being, and came to see what was that about.

I forget to add, Iselda used to be a warrior before meeting Cornyfer, but she has never enter the ruins of Hallownest, so this also was way before they move to Dirthmouth too.

"I'm glad I put down my weapon, this quiet life with Corny makes me a lot happier. It would be nice to stretch my legs again though... sometime soon..."

The Godseeker might've helped him.
She didn't used to be tied up, she had to be tied up to stop her insatiable desire to breed.

Ghost literally has no mind, nor motivation, nor thoughts. truely no voice, never talks never cries. no personality at all. it makes sense since all he does is controlled by the player, not himself.

Careful. You will trigger a bunch of the autists in this thread with that opinion.

>unites the void under the bearers will
>no will to break
He has a will, and sidequests could imply emotion. He's impure.

>all he does is controlled by the player, not himself
ultimatively humans being moth gods

Then why wasn't he chosen as the vessel and instead was thrown into the abyss?

Still, just to get the bad ending, is imply that Ghost hace a sense of will, and to get the rest of the endings, it requires a sense of curiosity, add all the options that the game gives you, from Saving Zote, delivering the Flower, choice to either respect the Nailsmith final wish or spare his life, keep collecting the Dream Essence's, Nusk taking Horne't form, or siting in the Blue Lake. It's heavily imply that Ghost is developing a sense of identity, even Hornet, who has hunt vessels before, have a Dream Dialogue where she admits that his will is different to anything she saw before.

wut?

Attached: 1523408176602.png (128x128, 5K)

thats all your doing, not his. he would never moan going through the path of pain and will just keep on doing as long as the player keeps commanding

>where she admits that his will is different to anything she saw before
makes sense since he is the first and only one with absolutely no will.

>Then why wasn't he chosen as the vessel and instead was thrown into the abyss?
Lost the speedrunning contest to HK.

currently about 20hrs into godhome, just trying to take down absolute radiance consistently, the rest of the last pantheon is piss easy

because the pale king already thought to have found the perfect chosen one

>God I want Hornet to sit
why? genuenly curios as to the point of face sitting, is it the ass or pussy you're interested in?

Doesn't the HK scream when he stabs himself in his fight?

If you take the player out of the equation, it would be fairer to say Ghost is like an AI.
Not really thinking, feeling or with any self motivation, just doing the job he was programmed to do.
Though the argument can be made that Ghost can do things that imply emotions and higher thought, ultimately those are player based actions rather than necessary events which means that the default Ghost in the most basic ending is a perfect soulless Vessel doing his job, while the other endings with player made choices can lend to the idea of an impure Vessel instead.
We won't really know what kind of Vessel the Ghost ended up being unless we get some details about him during Silksong.
I could see Ghost being the final boss.

Would you?

Attached: e2b995580eccae644b86aab8b70eb878.jpg (1024x1497, 136K)

he also screams at the beginning of the fight

See? What'd I say.

The domination.

Yes, I like Moths.

Of course not. The Wyrm becomes beacon.

Attached: 345097865432.png (500x553, 213K)

Definitely not, unless you're talking about consuming into endless suffering then yeah I would.

Attached: bigman.jpg (820x814, 119K)

I know user, I'm trying too. I can't even get him to 75% yet.

Well Moths to humans are cute fluffy friends, whatever disgusting seadwelling serpet bottomfeeder the Wyrm is seen as repulsive by many

Maybe I'm crazy, but I was under the impression that the pale king, radiance, and the infection were all one in the same. Interlinked in a sort of father/son/holy ghost kind of way.

Just for the game to even star, the Ghost need the will to dig up his way out of the Abyss, that's not the player doing, and we know he tried to escape before the Abyss was even sealed.

Stop trying to be meta with the whole player commanding that aplies to any game, the Hollowknight story doesn't works if we assume the Ghost doesn't have a will, something as simple to decide to kill the Maggot or the Soul Master but leave Hornet live twice is enough prove, or how all the NPC acts towards him, as they star to know him.

Attached: Mirror.PNG.png (845x688, 380K)

Would you relinquish your memory and join the Grimm troupe to travel at lantern's call to consume the flames of a kingdom's fall? Be honest.

No but if them niggas offer me an accordion I might consider vanquishing my free will.

>the will to dig up his way out of the Abyss
It felt the weakening of the vessel and went to replace it as its program dictated.

The lore is pretty nebulous. Of course people are going to disagree with any one interpretation and want to share their own.
Did you come to this Hollow Knight thread to talk about Hollow Knight, or just to be a stuck-up faggot?

>people arguing over the Ghost's purity as a vessel
>literally ignore the line "the bearers will"
>i-it doesn't matter because the player is doing all that stuff man!!!

What does that even mean
Also have the (you) you slut

And when he trie to do so before the Hollowknight became the vessel and the king close the door of abyss in his face?

I agree with you, user. "Will" is not the same as "mind". Even the tiniest insect and plant could be said to have a will, to consume, to serve the colony, to grow towards the light. Yet they are mindless. I see the Knight as similar, it has purpose and is driven to break the seals, but is utterly empty otherwise.

Based and Brummpilled.

Attached: grimm troupe.jpg (1280x1614, 153K)

I'M GONNA SAY THE M WORD

the worst part is that they use the "bad ending" as prove, when in all metroidvanias, the bad ending is the devs telling you, you didn't play the game properly (Granted, Hollow Knight do this better that most Castlevania games I have played, I think Symphony and Aria are the only ones that have a decent use of the bad ending)

Trump is a moth king ?

The Ghost has will, he is impure.
The copious amount of choices in the game could also imply a mind.
Either way
KILL MOTH

Then why did he keep fucking and produced the ghost if he already found the perfect one?

He didn't moron, the Hollow Knight and the Ghost are the same fucking age.

That was mostly a thing of the White Lady, she herself admits to have bind herself just to stop making more ghost babies.

The knight is as emotionless as the player playing him.

It's possible to do a purely hollow playthrough if you're autistic enough for it.

And get the bad ending, that is the universal way of the devs to tell you that you screw out.

the white lady was the countries biggest slut, my man

It's not.
>bearer's will
>bearer's will
>bearer's will
>no will to break
>no will to break
>no will to break
The Ghost has a will in all the endings, he just doesn't get the void heart.
Picking up a fucking charm doesn't give you a whole part of your character, he's always had it.

>stretch my legs
“No!”

I don't think so. The Knight doesn't kill certain NPCs on sight.

Why is everyone pretending the default ending is a bad one when there's absolutely no indication that the new vessel is going to fail like the previous one?

Sealed siblings is the only bad ending you tard.

Because it's literally repeating the same cycle.

No idea. I think the White Lady straight up tells the player that they're a perfect vessel too.

Void heart description.
It implies he has a will.
Therefore, his will can be broken by the radiance.
Both endings are bad. Can you please do your research before autistically arguing lore.

Cause you don't kill the Radiance in this ending, and we know she will just come back eventually.

Also, it has the same formula than all the bad endings in any Metroidvania game, do the less possible, and get nothing.

No real ending is worst than a sad ending, so yeah, the default ending is the bad ending.

Except it's not because this time the vessel is truly pure and the soultion is permanent.

That's, like, your opinion brah.

I'd embrace the light.

Attached: 1452290358076.jpg (500x415, 38K)

Except the Knight isn't pure.

So what were his abilities exactly? We know he could influence the minds of bugs, whatever that means exactly, and what else? We know he had wings and apparently he fought alongside the 5 knights, do you think he was actually a fighter or more of a commander?

Attached: 976871b1171f5a1eab5235cd2d4934ee.jpg (640x712, 51K)

He doesn't get the void heart in the normal ending. What the fuck are you even talking about.

But he is not pure, it's already imply many times, and still, with the Radiance statue at the top of Crystal Peak, she will come back eventually anyway, the seal was flaw from the start.

His power was getting his dick wet any chance he got.

OH SO JUST BECAUSE HE PICKED UP A FUCKING CHARM HE MANIFESTS SOMETHING THAT IS AN ENTIRE PART OF A PERSON?
FUCKING RETARDED.
KILL YOURSELF.

I hate to bring this analogy, but I think he is very much just Jesus, limited power, and supposed wison, he guide the bugs outside the Radiance influence, and then make a lot of experiments, but he didn't seem to have the same power than when he was a proper god.

It should be fucking obvious. The ghost has was a failed vessel, like the countless others. Implying he wasn't completely free of all will, emotions, and voice like the perfected Hollow Knight was.

He fucked White lady so many times that the Void floor is covered in his dead childrens heads.

Yes because getting the void heart implies digging deeper into the abyss for some soul searching. Will is eventually developed.

Doing the normal ending means mechanically doing your program of replacing the HK. Nothing more; nothing less.

He can very likely do whatever the Dreamers can do, but is way stronger than them. Transporting people into dreams, reading minds, sealing things, creating forcefields unbreakable by physical force, astral projection, telekinesis, teleportation and so on. Dreamers are seriously powerful. On top of that he's probably a master of magic, with access to limitless SOUL and having incorporated the powerful sealing magic of the Weavers into his arsenal.

He had the ability to be mad enough to build a big fucking city below a big fucking lake. nigga's crae

KILL MOTH

>RRREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

>It was tarnished by an idea instilled. But you. You are free of such blemishes. You could contain that thing inside.
>That pulsing emptiness...
>Does it... feel anything? Triumph? Or hate? If it does, I cannot sense it.

Attached: CebPFyx.jpg (1242x1290, 80K)

Oh my god you're literally retarded.
There is NO programming with the vessels.
The fact they want to kill the Radiance at all is because they are VOID, the natural enemy to the Radiance and the Pale King's light.
The fact he just decides to leave Hornet alive or not try and defeat her after she appears anywhere else despite having been attacked by her multiple times implies he has either a mind, or emotion.

Grubs are for L O V E

Attached: 1550172225194.jpg (500x500, 25K)

isn't he more comparable to the devil in this story?
>tells bugs they'll be better off if they abandon their god and decide for themselves what's right and wrong, aka free will
>bugs develop modern technology/society after embracing him

>>literally ignore the line "the bearers will"
I don't see that proving nothing. The point of the vessels is that they're supposed to be emotionless hollow husks, while still retaining some individuality to them.
They were created with a single purpose, so all of them have a goal that they "will" to complete. The Hollow Knight developed further feelings (probably towards his father) other than the task he was born to do, which make him susceptible to Radiance because she spreads through DREAMS.

The vessels can be proactive and have a mind, the important thing is that they're not able to have dreams like the other normal bugs, and for that you need individuals without emotion, that longer for nothing.
A lot of people here seem to forget they're the children of 2 higher beings and assume that they're 100% void creatures. They're alive beings, strange hybrids filled with void power and acting as a conduit for it, but still alive and part Pale King.

>Does it... feel anything?
Let's ignore the fact that hmm I don't know
>no will to break
>no voice to cry out suffering
>no mind to think
That's one, you've refuted ONE of them.

Just to get to any ending, you have to decent the abyss and climb back, is state in game dialogue than that requires a will, same with the fact that he was the first vessels to go that far, with all others dying in the hands of Hornet or Nusk.

We also know you don't "need" to go to abyss to kill the dreamers, all the other travelers do just find without your powers, so this is the game telling it's own story of how the Knight is different to other vessels. Ironically, by cutting the players choice, is the way the developers tell how the Knight has a will, he choice to go to the abyss, and remember his past.

When the alternative is the Radiance, I think this is most of an Orange morality thing.

Climbing out of the void reveals that they have to be VOID of all the things the Pale King lists.
Void of emotion.
Void of mind.
Void of will (so that the radiance cannot break their will).
and Void of voice to cry suffering.
They CANNOT have minds, if they do they are impure. They have to be ENTIRELY void, or the Radiance can possess them.

>probably a master of magic
that's probably true I hadn't thought of that. So he was a wizard and probably had some level of "mind control" stuff.

only because he is programmed to do something doesnt mean he would kill anything on sight if its not a threat and/or tries to kill him on sight. him being mindless doesnt has to mean hat he isnt able of logical conclusions either, meaning he would do any task as long as he knows it would help him on his mission.

we don't really know what things were like under the original radiance though, seer says she's different now cause she mad.

I guess you could argue though that if this is her response to being rejected she was never really that good.

All this lore stuff makes me miss Castlevania.
You did a good one Team Cherry.

Attached: 1535700433627_0.png (2199x1535, 496K)

Abrahamic allegories make no sense for Hollow Knight in the first place, because it's an explicitly pantheistic setting. Both the Radiance and the Pale King are gods. There's no moral judgement for either of them in the game itself. The Pale King did a lot of fucked up stuff, yet he is adored by some of the game's most friendly and hopeful characters, like the Dung Defender.

>start game
>pass by elderbug
>head straight to egg temple
>can't get in, don't talk to quirrel
>pass by cornifer
>pass by stag station
>never save grubs
>never equip anything
>never upgrade nail because that means talking to the smith
>only beeline for bosses that you're required to beat
>stumble upon dreamnail but immediately ignore the seeker
>never buy lantern and just brave through deepnest as is
>beeline for dreamers
>if blocked beeline for abilities to allow access to dreamers
>end game
Congratulations.

You're the Hollow Knight.

>no mind
>must rely on instincts like the bugs outside hallownest
>instinct would make you attack anyone who has previously attacked you

So does that make an unbound White Lady a sex addict?

>You are free of such blemishes. You could contain that thing inside.
That's all I have to say here. Believe in whatever retarded headcanons you have, I will stick with what the game literally tells me.

And the Radiance does, as we see with the Broken vessel, once the are out of the abyss, they start developing a sense of themselves. The fact that Nusk is able to hunt them down is more evidence.

>charms are formed from wishes of the dying

I guess it makes sense considering where you get them

the only fact is that its debatable how much of a pure vessel Ghost is and the only retarded thing is that youre trying to make it sound like thats a bad thing.

that's what she implies yes. Idk if their concept of sex though is anything like humans. Might be like fish where she just lays like 1,000 eggs at a time and then they're fertilized outside her body.

You realise what I typed was literally from the game right?
The game tells you this.
You're fucking autistic.
What? You didn't argue my point at all. You just said "yeah they can".
The ideal Hollow Knight would not be possessed by the Radiance, as they are meant to contain them.

NOSK COPIES YOU BECAUSE WHEN HE PEERS INTO YOUR MIND HE SEES NOTHING

THAT'S WHY HE COPIES YOUR ACTUAL APPEARANCE INSTEAD

Trying to make it sound like its a bad thing?
If the vessel is impure at all it's not a proper vessel.

Had a good laff at this

Seeing how she's basically a plant, she could also propagate through seeds.

There is no ideal Hollow Knight, the best one the kind found (cause rememver, the ghost and the HK were made at the same time) fail, they all are destined to fail eventually, that's why the game trys to guide you to kill the Radiance instead of seal her.

>Winged Nosk
Nice meme user!

Honestly, I just don't take the words of the Pale King literally, he could pretty much just romanticizing things up for the sake of grandeur.
Radiance spreads and infects through dreams, the only thing they needed is an individual incapable of dreaming.

>They CANNOT have minds
We don't even know if Ghosts do. As the other user says, every single of his action could be part of his "program" just trying to fulfill a single complex goal.
Yes, even the moments where you'd argue for curiosity could be part of said program looking for things that will help the goal, information or better tools.
The fact is that we don't know if behind that complex behavior, there are dreams to infect. But what we do know is that the ending implies he was "pure" (devoid of dreams) at least up to the bad ending. The version with Hornet as a dreamer even implies the sealing was perfect this time, with no chance to escape.

>>no voice to cry out suffering
You seriously think having a voice affects how vulnerable you are to Radiance?
It's clear that the King was just describing things with "fancy words".

>there is no ideal hollow knight
Yes there is, a vessel which never gains anything. It stays void, and contains the vessel perfectly.
Just because it's probably not plausible doesn't mean it's not the ideal version.
There is no proof of the programming, it's not a thing.
People just want to think that's real, it's not. There's no proof. The only programming you could argue is that "Hey, I'm made of void. You know what the void hates? Moths. I should kill that moth!".

>program of replacing the HK
The vessels cast into the Abyss were, by the King's estimation, unsuitable to contain the infection. The Hollow Knight was selected and production of vessels ceased because he was believed to be a permanent solution. That's why the Black Egg was sealed by the Watchers. That's why the Abyss was sealed by the King's Brand. The failed Vessels were meant to stay buried in a place accessible only by the King himself, and the Hollow Knight was meant to remain sealed with the infection in a place inaccessible to anyone.
It's unknown how the Knight or the dead vessels found around Hallownest escaped the Abyss or why. It's not evident that there was any contingency for the failure of the Hollow Knight, and it's weird to assume that the King would intend for him replaced by an inferior, imperfect vessel. In fact, the Watchers initially try to prevent the Knight from undoing the seal.

>It's unknown how the Knight or the dead vessels found around Hallownest escaped the Abyss or why.
There's a room in the Abyss which looks like they burrowed out to the top.

Forgot to mention that he can literally SEE THE FUTURE. He's the real deal, as far as power goes.

Attached: lore tablet 1.png (1920x1080, 2.03M)

I can't do Radiant Absolute Radiance. I don't have the reaction time to dodge his radial laser attack consistently and the orbs fuck me up during phase two. During hours of trying I've gotten the climbing after phase two once, and I got hit by a laser attack and I think it will happen again. I'm at my breaking point with this.

>The vessels cast into the Abyss were, by the King's estimation, unsuitable to contain the infection. The Hollow Knight was selected and production of vessels ceased because he was believed to be a permanent solution.
You are assuming vessels were produced one by one, inspected and rejected. The game makes it look like vessels were produced in batches. The fact that HK was chosen doesn't mean ALL other vessels were flawed. There might be dozens of pure vessels in the abyss, the King simply never looked further because he only needed one.

>There is no proof of the programming, it's not a thing.
It's the entire point of the vessels, they share a goal and are drawn to its purpose. By "programming" I don't mean a literal program you retard.
You're also taking the words of the King too literally.
>The only programming you could argue is that
Find the way to end the infection, no matter how complex the task may be.
>People just want to think that's real, it's not. There's no proof
There's no proof of him being impure either other than autistically drawing conclusions from a few idealized lines from characters with their own flaws, opinions, and motives.
On the other hand, the endings are there.

Why are you people so against the fact Ghost is an emotionless individual showcasing complex approaches towards a simple goal?
That's just AI theory 101.

Vessels have void injected into them.

The programming to replace the HK is actually the void stirring and reacting to the Radiance --- their ancient enemy. This is why we return to Hallownest and inevitably get pulled into the Abyss.

That's pretty OP but isn't this the only mention of that? What if they just thought he could see the future, maybe he lied to them

The whole programing thing lack any argument, cause is the same as "our programing" to ate, breed and live. Any action that the Ghost takes that doesn't help this programing, including follow Hornet and decent the Abyss (which again, looking at the other travelers, we know is not the only route to fufiil our mission) is prove the Knight is doing what he wants, not what he is programend

Nah the mushrooms seem pretty clever. Even Bardoon acknowledges the Wyrm's foresight.

Bardoon and the thing in the Fungal Core also mention it.

Don't give up. You don't have to do it all at once. Just go back to the game every day or few days and spend a few minutes trying. It takes longer cumulatively (over five hours total for me personally, I think), but eventually you'll get it.

He could have lied to them, but I think it's not very likely. They aren't stupid, the mushrooms were already sceptical of him. Bardoon also states that the Wyrms have "foresight".

The point of the Vessels is to contain the Radiance. They don't need programming for that, just to sit there and look pretty and be empty.
People are against the Ghost being empty because it's not interesting, at all.
"How would he react???" He wouldn't
"How would he feel???" He wouldn't
"What would he think???" He wouldn't
You know what IS interesting? The HK trying to desperately try to force himself to not think like in his cut dream nail dialogue.

>Why are you people so against the fact Ghost is an emotionless individual showcasing complex approaches towards a simple goal?
Cause the whole game doesn't works if you assume that, we know the seals are flawed, we know Radiance will come back and that the King screw over his plan, the only why to defeat the Radiance is with a character with a will, which is imply all over the game that it is our Knight.

Cloth's doesn't until you Dream Nail it.

well that's pretty sad then that he fucked up even when he could see the future

I didn't Dream Nail her, and when I came back her ghost wasn't there anymore.

The seals are flawed because the King fucked up and wanted to be a father. We didn't get subjected to that.

>You know what IS interesting? The HK trying to desperately try to force himself to not think like in his cut dream nail dialogue.
...which was cut. Team Cherry even said you shouldn't take it as canonical to the game when asked about it. They obviously want this to be ambiguous.

The Mushroom Elder says as much.

Fuck off the vessel even got double cleansed when he mindlessly wandered beyond the kingdom. That little shitter is driven by pure hollow instinct.

Just because it was cut doesn't mean that it clearly isn't the direction his character is and was meant to go.
He definitely still thinks and has emotion, and he knows he shouldn't.
Cutting the dn dialogue just makes it subtler.

Back to the zapper with you, radiant.

Nice non argument, there's no proof he even came from outside the kingdom.
He just pops up, he could've just dug out when the game began and popped up at the howling cliffs.

These threads are really comfy. This motivates me to do a sceond playthrough. Still haven't finished the Trial of the Fool. Got through the section with no floor once but then that last bug killed me.

You callin' my waifu fat?

>People are against the Ghost being empty because it's not interesting, at all.
Why wouldn't it be interesting? The fact that even now people are still arguing over that means it's plenty interesting.

Hornet acknowledges it. Born of two voids and all that.

Yes, fatty is both fat AND ugly having to wear a sack over her head because a mask can't fit.

This is speculation of course, but I personally think the Pale King's precognition is a Dr Manhattan type deal, where he can see the future perfectly, but can't change it. I take that mostly from pic related, where he calls VOID a force that "could deny Time", which is a very curious wording. Nowhere else is the concept of Time brought up in the game other than the Wyrm's future sight. What if he created Abyss constructs not only because of the Radiance, but also because he cannot predict what they will do, giving the world true freedom from the chains of destiny?

Attached: abyss plans.jpg (1920x3240, 668K)

The only reason the Seer is still alive is because she knows the seals will not last, that's why she only pass a away once the Knight prove himself to be the one they have been waiting for to defeat the radiance once and for all. Again, from the Lost Kin gestures, Nusk full of vessels bodies that he bait with their emotions, or Ghost interactions with the world, all are prove that just being outside the Abyss and interact with other bugs screw the idea of the Vessels, they will develop a personality eventually, but if they aren't trained to be the vessel, then they can't be one either, so they need to interact with the world. The Seals was never going to work, the King's plan was flawed from the start.

I always assumed the idea of the vessels being empty was meant to play on the idea of the player character in games generally being an empty vessel for the player.

>The fact that even now people are still arguing over that means it's plenty interesting.
No it's just that it's important to other endings, like Sealed Siblings and The Hollow Knight.
Losing memories != Losing emotions and your mind

But the HK was actually a flawed vessel, so he probably did have a voice

No, they don't want to leave it ambiguous, cause none of the the DLC makes sense if the Knight doesn't have at least a will to explore outside his mission.

>but also because he cannot predict what they will do, giving the world true freedom from the chains of destiny?

eh I doubt it. I don't think he was so altruistic. I guarantee anything and everything he did was for the furtherance of his kingdom.

If anything I think the idea is that he was blinded by his own arrogance and stubbornness even though he could see the future.

If the players' discretion means that all optional content is uncountable as evidence of the Knight having will, then the fact that the Knight does not finish off Hornet after the first fight--even if the player continues attempting to strike her--is strong evidence that he does have a will separate from the players' own.
But both of those are fucking stupid arguments. Player agency isn't something to be considered when dissecting a character unless its explicitly a part OF the character, as in Undertale or whatever else.

Christ how is this so hard for your idiots to understand? Every ending beyond the first one is an ending where the vessel isn't acually hollow. The first ending can also end with the vessel not being hollow but if you play like a speedrunner then it can end with the vessel being pure and unsmudged.

:D

Ignore this autist, just blatantly ignored or tried to argue it with "muh player input!", which is objectively wrong

So are all the bugs actual bug sized? like is the whole world in scale the size of someone's backyard?

id love to see something bigger come along. Perhaps a bird boss.

Or the fact we only have one chance to kill Zote, proving the Knight have some affection for the little shit for some reason, and afterwards, no matter how hard we as a player try, we can't kill him.

They're still kids half higher being.
I don't believe vessels are mindless.
They can have a mind, they can have a will, but are still heavily drawn towards a goal imbued deep within their nature due to being creature filled with void.
Having a "programming" and having a mind aren't mutually exclusive.
I'm not one of the guys arguing that they're completely devoid of EVERYTHING, I'm arguing that a vessel can have a mind and still be pure. Believing that if it has one single characteristic of a list then it's "impure" is just an overly literal interpretation of a few subjective lines.

I rather go with what the fucking game itself tells us.
It tells us the original Hollow Knight's impurity was instilled (probably by the King): instilled literally means HK was born pure, and that it lost this purity of his later.
Yet at the Birthplace memory, when our Ghost reaches to the cliff, HK pauses and looks behind him.
That alone implies some "independence of reaction" right when he was confirmed to be pure, just like our Ghost.
Being able to think, to act as an individual, to move, to react to things, to have a mind, etc, etc, does NOT make a vessel impure according to the game, regardless of what Pale King emotionally spouted on a significant moment to him.

The point of the Radiance is that she spreads through dreams, the only thing that is important for a vessel to be effective is to be immune to her influence:
No dreams.
The rest is just taking the Pake King's words like they're literal facts. Specially considering he was a flawed person himself who ill-judged his own influence over the HK.
HK was pure at birth until he was influenced by the King.
Ghost was in theory also pure at birth, as (I repeat) showcasing individual behavior is not a proof of impurity going by what we know about HK tells us.
Ghost could've also been "influenced" by his experience at some point in his adventure, just like it happened with HK, BUT WE DON'T KNOW THAT.

>Why are you people so against the fact Ghost is an emotionless individual showcasing complex approaches towards a simple goal
it would negate cute fanart with Ghost showing simple-cute emotions

EHOHHHHH OHHHH OHOHOH WEIIIII

So far, we don't have any concret evidence besides the cut forest of bones in regard the scale of the world, though things like the concept of gods (of which we see at leas the body of one) or the scale of the flowers seems to indicate we are giant bugs in a bug world. Still, there is still a chance to other giant creatures to be around.

>be vessel
>follow my void programming
>absorb moth
>have a mind
>radiance mind breaks me
>fuck
>people online still try to argue that me having a mind doesn't matter

I nearly broke my controller when trying to beat Hornet 2 in Radiant difficulty.
Bitch. Fucking "SHA" whore. "EGALE" YOUR ASS. STOP BEING UNPREDICTABLE WITH THE JUMPS.

>So are all the bugs actual bug sized?
No, judging by the size of drops of water, they are human-sized. Or maybe the devs just didn't think of this.

“MOM, I FOUND A HOLE OF BUG SKULLS!”

We don't know. We will never know. Team Cherry isn't huge on clearing up ambiguous stuff like that.

I personally think the answer is no, mostly because the bugs have bones for some reason, rain and water wouldn't work at that scale and smithing wouldn't either.

Attached: 1550098093834.jpg (1599x1794, 242K)

KEK

The arfument is that all vessels has a mind in development and the Seal idea was going to fall to matter what, that's why the only way to break the cycle is to defeat Radiance and stop trying to seal her. That's the only reason the Seer is still alive, she is waiting for a void creature to stop wasting time with the Seal, and try to awake the Dream Nail to go after Radiance.

> like is the whole world in scale the size of someone's backyard?
That's so cute to imagine.

But if bugs were bigger they'd crush their frail limbs.

So all i have left is Nightmare Grimm, Godmaster(if i will do it), and "killing" 2 of those 3 guardians guarding the hollow knight temple. I just finished White Palace and got the Void Heart. What should i do now? Will i trigger an event or something if i kill the remaining guardians?

Attached: 1547585670529.jpg (1113x640, 55K)

I try to avoid making this comment, but I can't resist anymore.

If this is indeed a small scale world, I want to imagine this have been the bugs of the Bloodborne world (more close to this world than the Souls games) all along.

Kill the remaining guardian and go do the normal ending.

Then go do Nightmare King Grimm.

Then finally go do Godsmaster.

You lose nothing by doing the ending you can early, the game will simply spawn you at the last checkpoint and you'll be free to continue playing.

There's high chances people are going to be very disappointed regarding the HK cliffhanger depending on what route Team Cherry decides to follow with it.
A lot of the fandom has already assumed a lot of things about big bro and his personality, and it wouldn't be weird at all that the actual canon deviates from the image we currently have of him.

Attached: 1550649202298.jpg (1000x1333, 171K)

Depends of the atmosphere, we use to have giant bugs before our atmosphere changed.

Attached: 5F06762D-E86C-43CC-961D-A06DEF482A5A.jpg (800x450, 63K)

If he nabbed the Void Heart before beating the game, then he's already missed the normal ending

>Team Cherry makes HK not a daddy's boy
I will be angry.

Looks like Grimm’s balloon form.

This is a world where magic exists and the bugs are powered by SOUL.

>bugs with breast
I hate it

Awakening the dream nail has nothing to do with reaching the Radiance beyond allowing you access to the Kiingsoul, which allows you to get the void heart, which I'm sure the Seer has no idea about. She's keeping it so she can give it to you to go after the three dreamers. Awakening the nail is just something she decides to do because it has enough essence.

Someone hold me. This shit is impossible with all the bindings. I've made it past The Collector exactly once after a dozen tries and then lost to Zote. It takes 30 fucking minutes to get to the hard part too.

Has ANYONE here done it? I have done the first four Pantheons fully bound and all the Radiant statues. I've done Path of Pain hitless and the Trial of the Fool with 5 masks and the old nail only. This is way harder and way more frustrating than both and seriously the only thing left for me in the game.

Attached: 345564323456.jpg (866x884, 83K)

She only dies once you prove to be the one her people has been waiting for, which means being able to fight in the Dream against the Radiance.

Same user here.

Actually, I do consider myself a drawfag.

But I unfortunately have a different meme to illustrate.

Good luck to whoever picks up this idea.

games called HOLLOW KNIGHT: silksong, not SILKSONG: a hollow knight tale.

Let me indulge my sudden fantasy of “Shall not pass” acted out by HK characters.

>Pale King is the headmaster
>he lets hk get away with whatever he wants, because he loves his son

This is a HS AU I can get behind.

>implying HK will be as much as mentioned in the new game
There will almost certainly be at least some sideways references to Hallownest or the events of Hollow Knight. We're playing as a voiced protagonist and interacting with other intelligent bugs, so it's bound to come at least in the 'where are you from and why are you here' sense.
I trust Team Cherry not to spoil the mystery by revealing anything too substantial or unambiguous about the events preceding or following the first game. They're pretty good about leaving something for the players to chew on.

drops of water in the city of tears are huge

I really doubt the grubs are entering the last stage of their lifecycle.
I think it's much more likely the developers wanted to make a joke about you saving all these things and them getting eaten for all your trouble.

Buzz saws were part of HK’s training.

>an alluring goddess of motherhood
But that would be the White Lady.

Why not, I'm a sicko enough Flukewife is just another addition to the sickoness.

I think is both things, all the lore seems to indicate that this is in fact the next stage of their lives, but at face value is a middle finger to the player.

>tfw final exams are held on the path of pain

>BUT WE DON'T KNOW THAT
Coming back to my post, I'd like to retract that last bit.
I realize an important part of the fun of lore discussion is speculation, specially when the canon is short and filled with ambiguous details, and discouraging anyone from trying to find a solider meaning in a story they like is pointless and a "no-fun-allowed" shit.
Sorry for that.

You're very rude. Don't be like that.

After my first playthrough I thought this guy was just a mask and cloak held up by those glowing flies. A collective swarm of sorts. I was really disappointed when I noticed that the he has legs the second time I absorbed him in the dream world. I still think that'd have been way cooler.

That sounds awful

Spiders aren't bugs either.

My theory is that certain species of bug are naturally intelligent, while others need the pale light.
The main inhabitants of the city o tears were woodlice, which are normally feral creatures. Their minds were given to them by the king and they would lose them if they left, as the stone inscribing implies.
The weavers of deepnest had their own culture and technology, which they introduced into Hallownest, but once everything went bad they could exodus, something the general population didn't have the option to.

>the seer and radiance are really good friends
>get bullied by the shades
>shade lord is high class delinquent, nobody knows who they are
>its secretly little ghost, nobody thinks this because hes "the weak short guy"

I object to that, she overcomes her cowardice and her sack-mask is cute.

Yes they are, they're not insects, but they're still bugs. Just like worms and snails aren't insects either but still considered bugs.

By the way, were the mushroom "people" the only non-bug sentient beings or am I forgetting some other?
