I like this death since Denjiro deserves it after 20 years of taking his shit but at the same time its his 4th death and the previous ones did him more poetic justice. The scabbard one included Denjiro already, the burning one had him being done by the flames of hatred he himself fostered into someone else's head, and the Kaido one had him unexpectedly betrayed by the monster he fed himself despite years of compulsive fear of betrayal from everywhere else, showing it was his own doing, those feel like poetic justice but now it happened four times.

Luffy and Robin are Oden of the SH already anyway.

I know it's the unpopular opinion because a lot of people are still firmly entrenched in their head cannons about Momo/ Ame no Habikiri (just like they had their head cannons about Hiyori and Ame no Habikiri) but i think that he is.

Denjiro has obviously been being saved for something and by the description the end of the chapter is potentially the climax of the arc as well. I am not saying i am 100% by any means because this is one piece but at least to me this feels a lot more final than ALL the other death scenes. (again, i know an unpopular opinion but i never thought the fire would kill him, Like actually never.)

From what the SERIES has been building up this feels very final. It's always been headcannon that Ame no Habikiri would be the one to finish off Orochi just like a lot of things revolving around how Orochi will die.

yes i know the folk lore behind it but that sword appears in a million different tales, including one were it's wielded by the real life version of Yamato (Yamato Takeru) to fight a giant white boar that is called a mountain god........ It's almost like Oda uses names and ideas of things in mythology but doesn't use mythology as a template for what will happen. just something for people to think about

edit: also Yamato doesn't succeed in killing the white boar, Yamato Takeru apparently actually died of disease given to him from the white boar. Again point being, Oda takes names and ideas. He doesn't follow Mythology 1:1.

I think that it actually makes perfect sense for Kaido backstory to come AFTER his L—or at least we see the impact of Luffy’s blow and get the Kaido flashback and the next spread immediately following his story is the announcement of his loss. Similar to how katakuri’s “undefeated” status became more powerful when we saw just how deeply he loves and protects his siblings and especially his relationship with brûlée. I wanna care more about why kaido is obsessed with power.

I have but you ignore that Yamato is put on the same plane as Sabo, Ace, Law, and Kidd for Luffy as BROTHERS. Luffy is not going to have someone with that honorific as a Straw Hat. People who say never joining or becoming a Straw Hat ignore the manga and make up some head cannon.

My prediction is Kaido is hit in 1049 which leads into a 4 chapter backstory/cleanup of Kaido. 1055 will be the actual final stand leading into 1056 with Kaido defeat.

1056 happens on the actual 25 anniversary of one piece and 56 is go-mu. My feeling is yes Wano is a kabuki play and yes kabuki plays are 5 acts. The 3rd act ends at 1056. Normally kabuki plays are 5 acts yes, but the climax occurs generally in act 3 while traditionally in kabuki plays sections are short in act 4 and 5 and are more "Extra" and "Ending".

So I expect 4 to be celebration/conflict with marines or them being pulled out or even attacking fullscale and tying up loose ends. Act 5 will be the conclusion.

I suspect acts 4 and 5 will be 5-10 chapters each at most. So I expect Wano to end roughly around Chapter 1070-1075.

Since 1072 is the last chapter of the year... if I had to put money on it Wano likely ends officially sailing away 1070 and 1071 is sorta a "sailing/recap/regroup" chapter leading into 1072 to close out the year arriving at Elbaf or another intermediate island and that will lead to the break for end of year start 1073 in whatever the next island is.
