Uma Musume

Just got around watching the second season -- this shit had no reason to be so fucking good, what the fuck. I have only vague memories of the first one, but punished Teio pain-train and the unfiltered pure catharsis was amazing experience. Now I've spent the day watching the real race counterparts. I don't know what's happening to me anymore.

horse pussy

They all went to the Uma thread on /vg/.
But yes S2 was a very good sports anime.

The whole thing about Uma Mususme is so fucking funny.
I remember before the 1st season aired, people where sharing the PV as "lol anime" and laughing at it, which is understandable because the concept is so ridiculous.
And then it came out and had a good 1st season, an amazing 2nd season and a gatch that rank millions.

Just to prove once more that not the premise but that the execution is what matter.

>Now I've spent the day watching the real race counterparts
Based. Keep on going down the pipeline, you won't regret it. Turbo's race was probably my favorite scene within the entire franchise as it never failed to bring me to tears and watching vidrel has only made the experience all the more wonderful. youtube.com/watch?v=jFs2r4UrRYk

For me, it's Grass Wonder.

still gotta watch S2
waiting for tachyon alt costume in the game

I remember liking some of the more niche horses during the first season, but man, that Teio was something else.

Too disgusted with how they all have human pussies.

Watch Umayon which is chibi shorts in the same vein as Puchimas,FGO Learning with Manga,Cingeki and Garupa Pico

I feel like such a hipster.
I liked Rice Shower a lot in season one. Now it feels weird to have so many other people claiming her as a favourite.

Did Rice Shower even have a speaking part in S1?

Is it pretty much confirmed already that next season will be Kitasan and Satono? I would've really liked a season about Vodka and Daiwa instead.

smells like a barnyard in here

same case with GuP and Symphogear

>Is it pretty much confirmed already that next season
Is next season even actually confirmed at all?

Have you been living under a rock and somehow missed the crowning of the new highest selling BD series of all time?

It was trash. First season was better. You're just letting hype from its sales and popularity in Japan go to your head. Most likely because you're either young or a conformist NPC. A year later when you think back to it with a clear mind you'll wonder what it was that you even liked about it so much.

The real race is far more exciting.

I couldn't watch 2nd season, while watching 1st was a pleasurable experience

>You're just letting hype from its sales and popularity in Japan go to your head
I don't know anything about the sales or the popularity, because it's not a series I have actively followed so far. I even let the second season sit for a year or so, so I don't know why you're under the impression I bought into hype. So nice assumptions and all, but I just found the season legitimately fucking great.

I even checked the gacha, but it's apparently all runes which makes me sad.

>but I just found the season legitimately fucking great
Okay, what was so great about it?

Say hello to my wife.

s2 of umayon came out recently
did you watch it?

yeah i don't know what that user means unless he actually is referring to BNW OVAs which I guess are attached to season 1. those were so much fun, first time around I didn't appreciate the fact that it gave screentime to a lot of umas who had no other reason to show up in the anime otherwise. also it had the most Brian scenes and with her previous voice so I definitely liked that

Attached: 20220427_095759.jpg (1920x1080, 388.77K)

I just really liked especially the Teio and McQueen character beats. It's a pretty rare anime where there's actual substantial development and it's made in a way that plays to the emotional segments. I don't remember that many loose sports anime where the outcomes most of the time seem pretty unpredictable either (probably because of the links to the actual races), which made the narrative actually engaging and the cathartic events -- as I said in the OP -- hit that much harder. It's overall just a really fucking solid anime, and the impression is amplified because it's a dumb horse racing shit, and I don't remember the first season having even half as serious of a story at all.

I understand you are probably looking to dismiss this in some argumentative way, but that's honestly how I felt about the anime, and it left a really positive impression on me.

Since this is 4channel dot org I shall confess something I will never tell my friends. Media never really makes me cry but between Tokai Teio, Twin Turbo and Rice Shower, the show had me crying multiple times.

Attached: Twin Turbo Cry.jpg (1002x574, 91.4K)

For me, it's Machikane Tannhauser

This, it's been a while since I cried while watching any media. Last time was probably Gunslinger Girl manga years back.

i still can't believe uma racing is more dangerous than senshado

The horse legs need some carbon coating

even so it looks like they're hosed up with negotiating more contracts for more umas since a lot of proposed gens are lacking official umas. they keep pushing Kita and Dia as the next gen but we're still not seeing much more actual traction beyond the short gacha anni OVA and having the two become playable. their campaigns don't even seem to involve the new umas who seem to be Satono Crown and Cheval Grand

>It's a pretty rare anime where there's actual substantial development and it's made in a way that plays to the emotional segments
What? Is this your first anime?

>I don't remember that many loose sports anime where the outcomes most of the time seem pretty unpredictable
Well, you're right about that part, but I am not sure if it's necessarily a good thing. Since the real horse races are based on the whims of animals and outside factors like politics and bribing, there's a high degree of randomness to them, which is fine for horse races, but doesn't make sense for horse girl races, and this creates a dissonance between what you see of their abilities and what actually happens in the races.

>It's overall just a really fucking solid anime
I still don't see why. It just seemed like your standard sports anime fare, but with bunch of cookie cutter gachshit characters with no actual personality.

>and the impression is amplified because it's a dumb horse racing shit
I don't get what that is supposed to mean.

>and I don't remember the first season having even half as serious of a story at all
I don't think second season being far more melodramatic somehow automatically makes it better.

>I understand you are probably looking to dismiss this in some argumentative way
Well, you got me, but getting preemptively defensive is not an argument.

>but that's honestly how I felt about the anime, and it left a really positive impression on me
Okay, but my point stands. It doesn't seem like you have any good reason for liking it that much and you're just getting swept along with the flow of the masses. You've heard some people on Yea Forums praise it so you've convinced yourself you liked it.

Season 2 is definitely flawed and it seems like no one is gonna suddenly make you 180 on your opinion at this rate but I don't see why you would need to decide others shouldn't enjoy it

Attached: 1538285520117.jpg (1195x897, 157.06K)

>it seems like no one is gonna suddenly make you 180 on your opinion at this rate
They probably could if they expressed their thoughts more thoroughly beyond just
>it makes me feel good
>it's fun
>dunno i like it

But you realize he wasn't wrong?

No you stupid fag. There's no point wasting time "debating" with someone when they're using so many disingenuous arguments and buzzwords.

>you're not having real fun

>They probably could if they expressed their thoughts more thoroughly beyond just
It is funny because you barely gave any arguments yourself.

Best sport anime ever made in the history of humankind.

>Is this your first anime?
Likewise, when you watch more seasonals you'll notice that anime rarely nails these traits to the same extent.
>and this creates a dissonance
This argument only works if you assume that the narration of anime doesn't support and offer any commentary to the outcomes. And better yet, there's actually underlining on various randomness that comes with the animal traits, like characters refusing to enter their starting positions or race properly because of their personality, etc.
>I don't get what that is supposed to mean.
It means it's a definite charm point that the series can build a dumb setting to be actually engaging.
>getting preemptively defensive is not argument
Yeah, it's just me calling you a dum-dum because the game you're playing is really obvious.
>Okay, but my point stands.
It really doesn't, and the core problem here is that you don't really have a point. You've essentially convinced yourself that you have some character reading on me that's based on some strawman precognition and baseless assumptions. And when I actually get down to it and list various traits I really found engaging (just like you asked), you go "no, that's not good enough actually", as if that was somehow analytical argument, which it obviously isn't. This is all to say that you're not really making a point, but just stating something you've already convinced yourself to be right, and it frankly doesn't have anything to do with me or what traits I appreciate in fiction. When we get down to it, there's really no real way for you to prove the "point" you're trying to make. The best you can do is make belittling silly statements -- as you've pretty much done so far -- but they reveal more about your ego campaign than about the actual anime in question.

Like some other user said, there's really no point to this "debate", and it's clear you're not really contributing to the thread either, so I can't lie that I'm interested in your further opinions.

People were flipping out over the PV for the GAME (because it was released at an anime event) long before the anime came out. Hell, I think the game didn't even come out for like a year+ after that PV or something, right?

there are lots of anons like that guy unfortunately, demanding justification for others' enjoyment of something they didn't like personally even though they never intended to accept any of the good faith justifications

I'm starting unironically think so. There's some manga that I think that are a category of their own, but as far as anime goes, there's something about those horses.

>a year
5 or 6 years

Don't forget Horse Yuri on Ice.

I really loved how they showcased Teio's flexibility and singing talents. I felt like Special Week was such a weak protagonist by comparison. If they ever do a season 3 I do not think they'll match 2.

Attached: Tokai Teio Faces.jpg (2028x2048, 508.9K)

my copium huffing delusions tell me they'll definitely do a season of Scarlet, Vodka, Machan and others from that time and make another great spokon season

Attached: 20220426_144755.jpg (772x1080, 235.49K)

>I felt like Special Week was such a weak protagonist by comparison
Yeah, it's not even fair. Teio was so good that it really elevated the season.

I mean, you were already given a paragraph of explanations and you just chose to deflected it, so I'm tempted to believe you're not really being sincere here.

Uma Musume could have produced thousands of doujins but Cygames just had to self-sabotage their own Japanese fandom. We could have seen Uma Musume topping Fate/Grand Order and Touhou Project at Comiket since 2018...

Cinderella Grey is also very good

Honestly I thought I was okay with the porn ban a year ago, but a few days ago, I just sat there and thought about just how much porn there would have been.
Every niche, every fetish, every character could and would have been covered. It's truly a loss to the doujin world as a whole even if the game didn't need it for popularity.

doubt that uma would be as big if it didn't come up with the policy that was probably asked for by most owners, a lot of its marketing strength is the fact that it has official licensing from owners even though apparently they have no legal requirement for it based on legal precedent over there. i think the franchise would be plagued with a lot of bad PR if they went ahead without owner licenses and thus didn't have a need for this policy
