Do anyone else have a character that the fanbase ruined for them?

Gladly no character was ruined for me because of the fanbase because Im not an active member of the fanbase

Carrot is still worse despite your falseflag spam

No one had Carrot ruined by her fanbase because she is barely discussed, appearing, or a character.

None of my favorite characters at least. They tend to be liked by based people. I also don't get influenced much it's usually just a bunch of people that are annoying. The only cases where the majority of the fanbase was cringe or annoying were characters that were fucking shit to begin with.
I agree.

There are characters I like that have obnoxious fans, but that's because they usually misinterpret the character and spread that. But there are cases of characters I dislike having obnoxious fans that cause me to dislike the character even more, because they highlight the traits I dislike.

Asuka.

Nope. Not a single one.

Rudeus can be hard for me to like sometimes because he has a pretty defensive fan base at times.

>Every Danganronpa character and Makima

i couldn't care less about any fanbase
the translators ruined her for me though because they keep calling her "him" every fucking time
they called her "him" even before she started the oden larp or when characters don't even know anything about her and see her for the first time
it makes absolutely zero sense and breaks my immersion every single time

But the misinterpretation then makes me question the author. Maybe the author intended all along to attract this crowd?

any gender: unknown character since all kind of undesirables attach to them with a vice grip

Bakugo from BnHA.

If anything its the ones who attach themselves to deku that are deranged.

Is it her in japanese?

this fuck got destroyed
fucking hate

She literally cannot be discussed in JJK threads

If I remember correctly only Kaido respects her pronouns when shes larping as Oden, oddly enough

Roronoa Zoro.
Especially the ones who believe that he will kill Kaido.

isn't that the one hot character with big titties in a bad show full of ugly characters?

No.

my bad I was thinking of One Piece

I never liked her but I grew to hate her when I learned that she was the poster girl for tranny anime fans. Anime in general is something I enjoy privately because other fans are just too fucking cringe

Ah, you said "the one hot character with big titties" when Nami, Robin, Hancock, and Reiju among others exist in the series.

People are obnoxious about all the minor female characters in one piece Yamato just had a more central role than others.

Most female characters

Most of the Danganronpa characters are annoying to me, if something, it's a plus to me some of them suffer to death. Makima is just a good turned to shit character.

>Is it her in japanese?

I don't know, but I do know that Japanese as a language doesn't rely on pronouns the way English does and would have nothing in common with Western insanity doing with fucking pronouns (but not indirect pronouns or object pronouns of course) making any such translation like that bullshit that wouldn't have happened a mere 10 years ago.

The Japanese at least know what's up

Expecting the retard to actually read or watch the series.

Unironically Luffy.

Itachi 'Solo King' 'Ninja Saint' 'Best Brother In the World' 'Did Nothing Wrong' Uchiha.

None because I'm not allowing some random faggots on internet to influence my taste.

>Kaido respects her pronouns
He didn't. Never did. He only refer to her as 'son'

proved op's point

OP ate the seeth seeth fruit. He will soon awaken his fruit's coping powers

>let's random people in the internet influence their opinion
you are weak and you should be ashamed of yourself

why would the opinions of some faggots on the tubes affect how I feel about certain characters? are you one of those fuckwads that "watch anime ironically" opie?
I pity you.

>go onto Yea Forums to discuss a certain character
>you can't have a discussion in earnest because of all the shitposting around them
It's only reasonable that you question a character and your liking of them if everyone they attract is an absolute faggot. It's good introspection in case you are on the same path to becoming a faggot and need to change course.

No. Because I'm not a bitch who let's the opinions of fanfags spoil my enjoyment; that's hypersensitive faggot shit for little kids.

You sound like a bitch. You're a bitch, aren't you?

No. I made sure to steer clear of that through introspection.

>you are so insecure about your own opinions that you let others affect them
>especially internet randos who are probably mostly mentally challenged teenagers
again, you should be ashamed

But user, you guys are the only people I can talk to online about anime. Why would I want to join a fanbase of people incapable of having a conversation about the character without devolving into shitflinging?

These is such a huge difference between 24 and 28yo that they don't even feel like the same character.

Oh this bitch got NOTHING on what one man did to Monet.

user, it's fine to discuss things and have your opinion changed when logical arguments are involved. But if the only reason you change your opinion is because you are afraid of being associated with a cringe group of people then you are really weak.

/thread

But user, if I like a character and want to discuss them but I can't have a conversation about them then I'm not really able to express my like for the character through understanding and it just simmers into a sorta "I like this character that's about it" rather than the times where I've liked a character and then grown to love them because I've had great conversations with anons about stuff I never fully understood about a character and developed a more fully realized understanding.

every single person that i've seen like this character is either a masochist or mentally ill
i seem to be the only exception to this rule

it's hard for me to relate because I don't need to discuss with others to get a fully formed opinion on a character.

Nah, there's a big thing where certain fans just project what they want on a character, turning them into an archetype if they don't fit into one. Then the majority of fanart circlejerk that version. East and West have their own mischaracterizations they like.

Not him but actually being influenced by Yea Forums's opinion is where I draw the line

You just described Yea Forums. This place isn't good either. Don't think in "joining a fanbase," that won't help you. Try to make some individual friends you can talk about anime with away from this place. I say this because relying on Yea Forums will rot your brain.

This, user's behaviour is worrying

I wish I was smart enough to fully understand every character ever.

It's not about being smart, it's following a story and having confidence. If you're stuck on understanding something, there's wikipedia, staff interviews, rewatching etc. Trusting Yea Forums as a source is a terrible idea.

Bro, I'm pretty smoothbrain, I rewatch Monogatari and still find new stuff I've missed every time which expands my understanding of a character.

Forgot to add that sometimes staff can be trolls, but forming your own opinion on something has nothing to do with having a super high IQ or some shit. Come on, you're better than this.
