Come on in and join the wonderful world of Ran Uruma, growing girl and magical wunderkind! Watch as she runs into, often times literally, a varied cast of humans, sorcerers, people in-between, and embodiments of ancient insatiable and all devouring evils. Buoyed by fantastic art, this is a fun exploration of a magical world and a great story about family, growing up, and relationships of all colors and shapes using a varied set of perspectives and a substantial cast of characters.
I don't have a lot of time today, so I'm going to have to abbreviate this dump to just one chapter today. Apologies for doing so, but it be what it do be. Still, we all learned why Ran and friends aren't living in the magic village at least. And why Shizuka is camped out on the door forever. Them bugs are a dangerous lot.
What do you all think of bugs? Like them, dislike them? Myself, I hate them. Nasty creatures.
Gorgeous manga. Enjoyed it all the way through. The story is weird but you have to take it less-than-literally, in context with the surrealist setting. It’s self consistent.

Absolutely hopeless from minute 1
Dominic Jackson
Don’t like em in my house. This is my nest. I maintain it against intruders. Outside I like them. They’re cool little guys and I like the idea of a secret tiny world, a dense and savage jungle of life and death, spread out right by our feet.

The setting and atmosphere does a lot for the manga. Really carries its weight and then some.
Robert Richardson
I wish I owned a pocket sized Lady Shizuka
Isaac Rogers
Does this mean Lady Shizuka has been forced to live on top of a giant door for the past 20 years?
Gavin Watson
I wonder how these fake crows deal with predators that naturally target crows as prey?
Caleb Smith
Ironic Ran says this to Sango when she mainly attracts meanies...
Matthew Perry
I guess there was one big downside to living in a penthouse apartment. Insects from the other world prefer high places over low places.
Parker Hill
Thanks OP!

Seems that way. Probably other than conjugal visits with Zen and when she had to give birth to Jin and Ran, she stuck sitting on the door.
Kevin Ramirez
That is so sad yet Ran's parents still decided to raise Jin and Ran away from the village when they could be closer to their mom?
Ayden Flores
From what we saw of how dangerous and powerful those bugs can be, having small and untrained children near the place where the bugs could escape from, seems like a really bad idea. Raising them away from her, is probably the best way to keep the kids safe in case something goes wrong.
The wasp from this chapter, could easily have stung an infant Ran or Jin if it slipped past the Crows.

So if there's an ass-ton of bugs, do they just stay as crows and eat them all?
