If you read the manga at all, she really can't function outside of shamiko. Only thing she can do is fight, every other part of her life is a mess. She only eats instant ramen, she can barely dress herself, has no friends or personal relationships, actively shuns relationships, and unlike what that one user is telling you her problem isn't as simple as "omg trauma, it's only trauma, she's perfectly adjusted if not for trauma", even back when she was under Sakura she had all the same basic issues and autism.
She has no ability to function in an interpersonal sense, which is why she needs Shamiko to fill in all those aspects of her life. She lucked out that Shamiko can do everything that Momo can't.
