IMO Aka can still redeem himself as a writer if the next arc goes back to comedy and he kills off Akane in Oshi no ko.

I strongly disagree. I think Seiryu and even Oko weren't characters that needed to exist at all. Aka probably could have done an entirely different "taken to the moon arc" in just 8 chapters instead wasting 20 for this trainwreck and another 10 earlier infodump chapters for build up. Frankly these past few arcs accomplished nothing except making Hayasaka slightly more relevant while at the same time highlighting how out of place she feels when not working for Kaguya.
