You should still want a satisfying ending and not just for a manga to end just so you don't have to follow it anymore. There was nothing about last chapter that was satisfying or conclusive as an ending. Endings like that can work but not in this instance.

Phos wanders around seeing more of sensei's memories. This happens in a sort of montage-type way where, while not the entire 10k years, time passes while this is happening. The chapter will end with a memory of the professor showing up and that will be the plot of the next chapter.

Deep down I'm fucking scared this could get snk'ed I know Ichikawa is amazing but there's been a long streak of shitty endings for a while now
