It's been a decade and Hyouka still flexes on just about every TV anime.
>10th Anniversary
What? I remember watching it weekly, it hasn't been that long.
We are old.
We can only get this because the animator has been burned to death.
Wtf what??
A lot has passed user, remember Spice and Wolf was 15 years ago.
The animation director was killed in the arson attacks back in 2019.
In slightly better news, the seventh volume of the novel series is in the works.
I don't believe it. It's too good to be true. It won't be the same without Takemoto anyways.
Even if Hyouka gets a continuation, the fire saw to it that the original production staff isn't what it used to be.
It's not fair.
The "Azumanga Daioh is 10 years old" meme is 10 years old.
Fully animated background characters isn't something you see very often.
Arisu best girl
I love this artist man; keeps on drawing new stuff even after 10 years
How trustworthy is this source? God I hope it's true.
>Hyouka without Takemoto
But it won't be the same.
Their commitment to Oreki and Chitanda for all these years is pretty commendable.
Wasn't he also the director for Dragon Maid? S2 of that also was pretty good
Good, I have been having problems with insomnia lately.
Still mad that these 2 aren't couple, they had such great chemistry with each other
S2 was boring as fuck but that's more on the source
Please tell me!
Was S2's animation led by someone else? If it was still good after the arsons then there could be a chance of Hyouka getting another season.
But because of how well it was animated even by today's standards it probably wouldn't be the same like said, at least visually. Not too sure if they have enough material for a second season either, although to be fair 22 episodes for a first season is quite a lot.
Yeah, I think KyoAni still has it in them to keep up the animation quality, but what's more important is Takemoto's directing. Hyouka was just as impressive design and animation-wise as it was directed.
>Not too sure if they have enough material for a second season either
It won't be another 22 episodes that's for sure. The anime adapted 4/6 novels so it would be 1 cour at best, but that's obviously still great. Could be more if the author stops being a lazy faggot and writes another book I suppose.
The extensive background characters is very impressive. I remember reading an interview where the staff was referring to them by name, same with Hibike. KyoAni just puts a lot of extra detail into their work.
To be honest, I kind of dont want a second season. I thought the show ended perfectly.
Oh boy!
Do another fanservice OVA.
I love her
I have this floating around
Also this
iirc there are only two volumes which are not adapted so not enough material for another season so probably a ova or a movie?
>no Takemoto
Hey, it's the Houtarou x Mayaka crack shipper.
Kyoani puts a lot of effort into outfits.
I've heard some saying that volume 5 could work as a movie, but personally I'm not too sure. There's some parts from volume 6 (+ the one-off side story) they'd have to slot in to keep the chronology in order, side stories that aren't really connected to the events in volume 5.
I don't know who this tomboy is but what I'd give to see her animated
just finished hyouka yesterday!!
it was right up my alley. my favorite shows are the super chill slice of life stuff.
It's the new club member.
The closest thing there is to the animated tomboy is the manga adaptation.
Is Hyouka worth watch?
Should I watch the live action version after I'm done with the anime one?
Watch it and find out
>volume 5 could work as a movie
volume 5 is not the best material for a movie and don't know about vol 6 as I haven't read it
You're asking anons in a Hyouka thread whether you should watch Hyouka?
Actually, yes
I watched the first episode when it aired and lost interest.
Than Yea Forums had Hyouka weekly thread, so I tried again because Irisu is pretty qt.
After I tried that it became my toppest show to watch. Also, like shutter island, it gets better on every rewatch knowing the little details that you missed on the first watch.
But that's just my experience.
More hyouka would be great, although I've been reading the manga and I don't feel too enthusiastic if that's what it'd be adapted.
if you like super chill slice of life anime, then absolutely yes. it was super comfy.
my only gripes were little shit. the character design for the protag is the same messy-haired look that i've seen in too many animes and although i love the classical music played, they use the same 3 tracks over and over when faure and bach have tons of other hits with similar moods.
>trusting a fan-made English twitter account
ngmi
>ngmi
There's at least one other English speaking leaker with a good track record, crossboarder bro.
The manga was fine, especially since it gave me a visual reference for certain events, but the novels definitely a step up. Also witnessing Oreki's internal thoughts that couldn't be shown in the anime makes it a lot more interesting.
it's good but haruhi is still more based
Based on what?
based on haruifags inferiority complex
Actually my favourite pair to see interacting, even if I don’t want them to fuck
nice projecting lmao
if it's not a season 2, ova, or movie i'll make that fire look like a fucking barbeque, in minecraft
let's not fight user, i like harui too so i don't see any reason to fight
I miss hyouka so much bros.....
>Irisu is pretty qt
based & good taste
>Season 2 or OVA?
lottery
fair enough, both are top 3 kyoani anyway
>Season 2 or OVA?
Gatcha?
Pachinko?
the 3rd better be chunnibyo
What the fuck why are all thse shows coming back???
What the FUCK was her problem?
