You know, I've read the whole thing. I can safely say that it's unique in one aspect: The series has absolutely no literary value. I don't mean this as a snob, but I mean more than Solo Leveling is not trying to say anything about...anything. It's the equivalent of a Michael Bay movie.
It's genuinely unique. Most anime is at least trying to make some point about friendship, the value of life, or whatever. I dunno, a kind of least generic proto-humanism.

Solo Leveling? Jack shit. I cannot remember anything about the protagonist other than him loving his family and hating being betrayed. He even trades up his love interest about halfway through, and they barely share any scenes together. It's like if someone went out of their way to make things as weirdly shallow as possible. The protagonist has no friends, no peers, has no one who can help him in a fight, and needs no one.

It's really cucked when Japan adapts an anti-japanese work.
