They should have skipped or cut some early chapters. Its a one note manga for most part with precious type moments (think shit like girl that forgets glasses, kobo, etc). Some chapters early on are really repetitive or short form/twitter post-like chapters. Anime covers fast, but repetitive and boring content. Need to bring in supporting cast faster and parents.

People were expecting a fanservice anime when it has none of that in it. The early bits of the manga are basically one shots in webcomic form and it doesn't switch gears until shes meets her boyfriends parents and it stops playing his bad luck up as a joke instead of some final destination curse shit.

Ironically Shikimori is the complete opposite of Nagatoro as a character.

I think it's also hard as shit to pull off in a seasonal anime format because it's slow as shit early on.
