You dont actually read manga on your monitor, right Yea Forums?
You dont actually read manga on your monitor, right Yea Forums?
I do...and also on Kindle Oasis 3rd Gen, Likebook P78, Likebook Alita, and phone.
>not reading your manga on a projection beamer
yes I read it on my monitor on Mangadex and constantly readjust with scroll + ctrl and read left to right when switching pages.
They don't make a 24 inch paper white yet so yes.
I read manga on my galaxy tab a7.
you are right, I dont read manga
I also read mine as jpgs on the default windows image app
can i steal a thread?
i think so
Yes I use a vertical monitor, also makes browsing here nice
i had a vertical monitor up until a year ago when i switch to 3 horizontal 1440p. When i next rearrange the desk im going back to having a vertical, its so good for manga/Yea Forums threads/discord
I read manga on my 8" kobo forma
I use a tablet
I use a Likebook Mars and load the images from my homeserver.
Based. How come you're always here?
E-reader paid shill thread
sage and report
Idk I have a lot of free time and I usually spend my time talking about manga I'm reading
Wash your hands.
i use my nexus 7
i cant read stuff too high quality otherwise I get those checkerboard lines
I forget what the name for it is, van der walls effect or something? Okay no it's not that.
Oh it's called Moire pattern. I wasn't able to read the CITY storytime because of it...
Anyone happen to have any solutions?
My 27" monitor can pivot to portrait mode and it gives me a bigger image than the biggest tablets or oversized hardcovers. Legit one of the best purchases I ever made in my life!
Normal monitors are already perfect for reading though, you don't need to pivot anything.
What's the point of using a vertical monitor for something that has an aspect ratio 1.41:1?
>using single page view instead of double pages
Don't tell me you're actually reading manga wrong Yea Forums.
You can get 25" E paper monitors.
no i read manga in my tablet because the screen is big enough and it's easier to zoom in
Because it is the same as holding the actual page in your hand and being able to see and read all of it at once - you know, the way comic book pages are designed originally to be experienced, VERTICALLY - rather than seeing half of the page or two-thirds of it through a horizontal viewing angle that it was never designed for. Except, you know, way bigger.
The way the entire screen fills with the image from corner to corner without anything missing is what makes you understand that print is free to go the way of the dodo.
>the way comic book pages are designed originally to be experienced
As in, two pages at once? Yeah, that's why horizontal is better.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Comic books are designed so that hold one page in each hand and view two pages at once.
huh
Stop reading manga wrong bro it's not good for your health
Use a better app that lets you pick the scaling algorithm.
I can read however the fuck I want... you bitch
I use a phone. As bad as that sounds I haven't had any issues with that in the last 3 years.
How much manga do you read?
Pic related is you user
I don't know about your Richie Rich ass, but speaking as a person without a monitor the size of my bedroom wall (or a projector and a completely barren, unused whie wall just hanging around my apartment in a big enough room); squishing two pages down the size of your average computer monitor and having to constantly zoom in and out of frame is markedly inferior to having one page fill out the entire, massive screenspace.
Except you are only ever supposed to take in one page at a time (save for doubla page spreads). As such, portrait mode is analogous to that experience.
>having to constantly zoom in and out of frame
I've never felt the need to zoom in, do you use glasses by any chance?
Read more manga.
Can you quote a single comic artist on that?
>use
wear* oops
That's not true at all? Do you not read any fighting manga where mangaka take advantage of the paneling of two pages to make the fights flow smoother? What kinda dumbass observation is this?
I have no problem reading in two page mode on a 13" e-reader. How tiny is your monitor?
YacReader on both PC (Double spread) and iPad.
YacReader's pretty nice for Manga collection organization as well.
People who defend single page view always sound extremely retarded with their reasoning. Is it a coincidence?
The thing with print comics is that you can just bring it closer to your eyes if you want to take in detail or read fine-print dialog. Obviously you can't do that with a monitor, a lot of detail is actually lost when zoomed out; that is why you need to zoom in. It is absolutely not ideal, not by a longshot.
I think you may just have extreme vision problems. My 10 inch fire tablet displays shit fine and I've never had to zoom in to read something.
>Obviously you can't do that with a monitor
???
>Do you not read any fighting manga where mangaka take advantage of the paneling of two pages to make the fights flow smoother?
That is so insignificantly rare that portrait mode is absolutely worth it. And whenever pages like that come up, obviously I can just pivot my monitor back adn change the settings for a couple of pages. This really isn't rocket science, people; you area really quite the dum-dum.
According to pic related I've got a lot bookmarked but in terms of reading I take it slow and limit myself to 2 or 3. Right now I'm reading Gunslinger Girl, I Am A Hero, and Claymore.
No I think the dumb one is the person reading manga in a single page view when it's designed to be read two pages at a time
What does portrait mode even offer?
Spreads happen all the time.
Obviously you are fine with what you have. Me? I desire to make my experience as good as possible. And that begins with having a bigger image than print could ever give me. obviously.
>obviously I can just pivot my monitor back adn change the settings for a couple of pages.
Jesus, you're delusional. You even admit you're wrong.
Whatever rocks your boat, enjoy never being able to read a Tezuka manga.
>I desire to make my experience as good as possible. And that begins with having a bigger image than print could ever give me. obviously.
Okay, you were just baiting. Good one, you had me for a while.
So you're telling me that manga is supposed to be read in a single page view where there are multiple examples like this all over the industry where it's clearly intended to be seen in a two page view?
>designed to be read two pages at a time
If you think it's ideal to view them squished through a monitor than I can not help you.
>Spreads happen all the time.
No, not really.
>And that begins with having a bigger image than print could ever give me. obviously.
Print manga magazines are B5 size. Even a 24" monitor is higher than that in landscape. And tankobon are B6.
>squished
What reader are you using that it squishes the image? You aren't posting any example and keep getting btfo
>Jesus, you're delusional. You even admit you're wrong.
This is beyond parody at this point, you are a genuine fucking mongoloid if you do not understand what I'm talking about.
>Okay, you were just baiting. Good one, you had me for a while.
You are legit the dumbest, stupidest person I have ever come across on this website.
Do you exclusively read 4koma?
Yeah, but the way scanning works, in landscape a lot of the detail in the pages is minimized. Everything is way smaller than optimal.
>ignoring the jjk page that proves him wrong
Lmao
My phone is too small for reading landscape.
Two pages out of 20 where having the rest filling the entire screenspace makes for much better viewing. Good job, genius!
You're just embarrassing yourself, kid.
How does it feel to be outsmarted by a negro? Your response is just bait and doesn't come with an actual retort. Sad!
dude probably reads romcoms only, where paneling barely exists
That sounds like complete bogus.
Manga isn't even scanned any more, everything is digital nowadays.
Do you mean that your resolution is too low to properly handle it? Most publishers offer well below the vertical 2160 pixels from the standard 3840x2160 resolution.
Try reading manga with actual paneling so you understand why you're retarded
Your phone is too small for reading manga in general.
Yes, that absolutely happened. Whatever helps you sleep at night, Timmy.
recommend me for a device for reading manga in two page landscape
The overwhelming majority of manga only does paneling on one page, not two. This is obvious to anybody who actually reads manga.
>post example where double page view is needed
>uhm sweaty you know it doesn't count cause it's not happening all the time!!
Lol
Have you considered reading better manga?
>Manga isn't even scanned any more, everything is digital nowadays.
Designed for phones. Screens in portrait mode.
Congratulations, you played yourself.
Fire 10 tablet has been working great for me
>overwhelming majority of manga only does paneling on one page,
No it absolutely does not. Even sports manga take advantage of the two page paneling. You seriously need to read more manga.
Not every manga is Berserk. I don't need super duper ultra high resolution to read some slice of life manga.
If every manga page was designed for a double page view, you would have a point. But they are not; not in the slightest. So, you are just a moron. Simple as.
