Since it was Hadlar's last episode and thus Seki Tomokazu's last episode as well, it looks like anime's staff got him a cake to celebrate a job well down. Apparently, Seki sliced Hadlar in half when he cut the cake much to the dismay of everyone.
This week's Daisuki TV was really good, if you can understand Japanese. It had the VAs for Hyunckel, Avan, Crocodine, and Hadlar just talking about the episode, the series, and shit.

Currently there is a crossover event in dragon quest tact with the adventure of Dai. Sadly best husband Chiu doesn’t appear since the event only covers up to Dragonoid Baran fight.
Maam and normal Baran are free units and Dai, Hyunckel, Popp, Crocodine, Hadlar, Flazzard and Dragonoid Baran are in gacha.
Also Maam, Dai, Hyunckel, Popp and normal Baran got extra original stories

I convinced my older brother (who watched the original series as a kid but unlike me never read the manga) to watch this episode together with me on video call. Had to teach him how to torrent it and download a media player, but it was worth it. Nigga cried like a bitch and so did I.
It's an asspull, sure, but IMO the fact that it works to give Hadlar the perfect sendoff makes it worth it.

Don't give a damn about Avan's return being an asspull. Hadlar getting his last moments with him makes it all worthwhile. Plus I feel like it would have been more of an asspull if Avan had been seen alive earlier in the story. But here it really feels like an miracle that happened after Hadlar's prayer.
