It came and went, a solid, serviceable shonen that had the decency to finish in 4 years.

It's formulaic in a good way. It doesn't tread any new ground, but it struts down that that old ground like a fashion runway with its head held high.

The reason it was so successful was because of what wasn't there as much was what was. It avoided a lot of dumb cliches and wrapped up neatly instead of dragging on at the end

Nezuko is very popular among young girls plus the breathing effects are cool and everyone likes those. And there’s actual consequence in the manga which isn’t present in many shonen. The traditional romanticization of Japan is beloved amongst current globohomo and the demon backstories are sad but not ridiculous like one piece
