Kek, what a joke of a chapter. Yuno didn't have even the decency to faint and Tabata once again refused to kill or hurt his characters permanently. It's care he stopped caring.
This filler arc feels almost disrespectful to the readers.

I'm more irritated by the lack of expansion on potentially juicy lore, since my expectations that Tabata would kill off someone was low to start with.

What was the point of the confession if he didn't hear it

Maybe to let everybody know.
Weird thing is he thanked her. Probably her voice reach to him but not the words.

What made me mad was how the side characters were used. Their role was to job and make Asta and Yuno (Gary Stu) look cool.
The arc overall almost didn't even progress the plot. You could ignore it and very little would change; ignoring it would actually improve the manga because the powerscaling would still be sensible

I agree, the Sekke part especially stands out in making Asta look good.

This is Asta from “Black Clover” and you’re watching Disney Channel!

>Lotus being off-screened on top of losing his arm
There's so many things I'm mad about.

>no stake clover
Heh.

reminder asta will realize noelles feelings

lol @ charmy and yuno

He can’t be dead. I refuse to believe it.

Did Charmy just confess to Yuno?

no she was just expecting praise from him and he's just like "what is this small creature doing"

He's probably fine, I'm just mad that he was brought back for seemingly nothing.

At least you can't call the revival an asspull since follows within universe rules and it was just a vehicle for the confession (which was walked back on anyways) and having to save Yamin twice would have been grating, so fine enough chapter.
Looking forward to seeing what that devil does outside the kingdom

It's not an asspull, but lately I've been thinking that some of the things the cast can do are absurd and take the fun out of teamwork when it's too extreme. Something like Vanessa and Finral combining their magic together is more fun and inventive than Valhalla for instance.

She wasn't saying anything, she was just surprised.

It's clearly not an asspull. It doesn't change the fact that it's bad writing though.

Just because something makes sense doesn't mean it's not utterly idiotic.

copium induced brain damage

They should have die because Mimosa doesn't have a fork and knife.

it's fine mimosa just healed that

I can't even be excited any more after all of these disappointments. Sure, Morris is nowhere as set up as some people claim him to be but the way villains and some other characters were just shoved aside was just terrible.

>Desperately trying to find something good
I can't really blame him

Me neither.
>Maybe Lucifero was sealed in the first Qliphoth incident
>He just gets BTFO by the power of revenge
Seriously, what even went wrong?

Thanks, Dragonboobs.

>Seriously, what even went wrong?
I think Tabata stopped caring. It's clear some of the things that happened were forced by the editor

I feel like the author had a really nice oppritunity here to create a dramatic situation where they only had enough mana to save one of the two, with Yami pushing them to save Nacht. A nice torch-passing moment.

But then Yami is a very popular character so w/e.

It's sad.

katayama carried BC, this is samurai 8 all over again

To set up a murder.

That's why the powerscaling is shit, it has the effect of making fights less exciting too when every counter can just be countered by something else.

>I'm still alive thanks to you
What does he mean, if he didn't even hear what she said? Did her confession touch Vanessa to the point where Rouge acted on her own or something?

this, aren't everyone fighting at light speed or something like that already? the powerscaling is wack since the different magic types are completely meaningless when everyone has insane strength/speed/resillience thanks to mana and can only do generic blasts and attacks that may or may not damage their targets, decided only by tabata's whims
just remember that pic related happened 10 chapters ago

based

Vanessa looked surprised that Rogue activated, so yes it was thanks to Charlotte. I think maybe Yami did hear her and knows what happened but because he's insecure and doesn't really believe Charlotte can love a dirty foreigner like him he gives her a chance to reconsider or take the confession back.

Yeah, I think people were complaining about Yuno vs. Zenon basically being a match of throwing OP things at each other but Noelle's fight also had elements of that with Valhalla, and then there's this. What a letdown.

The problem with Yuno is that Star Magic can do whatever the plot needs and his plot armour is just disgusting. Even in this chapter he's the only one who didn't faint, didn't receive big wounds and even had still energies to create starts and teleport people around.
It's just not interesting at all. At least with Megicula everyone was shooting laser beams while working together.

>What does he mean, if he didn't even hear what she said.
It just your common romance trope of "Hearing your voice is my tingling sensation to live"

Vanessa can't do shit and almost lost hope until Char confessed which Rouge suddenly react on it's own

Valid, I was just pointing out that these power-ups do affect the fundamentals of the fights in a way that's unsatisfactory and Yuno is simply one of the bigger offenders here.

They sure do, especially when are boring things like beam number 167, instead of something with thought behind it.

Yeah, it's like a game of soccer where your goalkeeper can somehow kick the ball into the goalpost of the opposing team rather than having everyone work together to get the ball there and accounting for each other's weaknesses or even perhaps tricking them into thinking a certain player is going to do it.

besides what everyone else said, is it even possible to keep scaling things further after this arc? or will tabata just pull another upgrade level out of his ass like angel level magic or something like that?

this arc was fine, dunno what all the doom and gloom is about in this thread
i personally didnt like yuno's stuff, but other than that its been enjoyable, wish the triad had a bit more to do though
