So there were 3 important guys from 600 years ago, 2 of them were brothers, the younger one was more talented and invented sun breathing and he's the ancestor of the guy on the left. The older one accepted that he would always be second fiddle until his family got murdered and then he eventually became the rank 1 upper moon. The third guy was unrelated to the other two but inspired the inventor of sun breathing when he was depressed after failing to kill Muzan and it was this third guy who passed down sun breathing and was Tanjiro's ancestor. The two brothers eventually fought again and the older demon brother would have lost if his brother didn't die of old age right that moment. Is this right?

Just finished season 2. The writing is fucking terrible, how the fuck did the manga became popular? The anime is great visually but the characters, the dialogues, the story, the worldbuilding... it's shit.

Characters die or take irreversible damage. That's already leagues better than most shounen. Plus, the upper moon demons are an actual threat and almost always require several characters at the same time to take them down instead of the usual 1v1's. If there's anything that KnY does right, it's the threat of the villains and the stakes involved.

The writing is so bad that I don't care about the characters. Ninja Gayden arrives and just spill out his backstory to the vilain "I came from a family of ninja, they all die exept for one brother. He's like my father, he doesn't care about people so I left because I want to save the innocents", it's just full exposition. And the main characters feels invincible, you just wait for the next bullshit excuse to explain how they will beat the vilain "Oh yeah I move my organs at the last second to survive that fatal blow that I didn't expect!".

It called self-reflecting, characters in the dangerous situation reflecting on how their life choices led them to this point. It's a narrative tools for showcasing the characters backstory without feel unnatural. You just seem to complain without understand why the story use it

I found the visuals fine, but the characters randomly shifting into CGI in the first season REALLY took me out of it. It was awful.

One of my big qualms with the show is that demons are hidden from the world yet they're so prevalent. You walk down the road from your village and find an offbeat house, a person' mauled corpse is in there. In another village, one demon kills 5-10 teenage girls. In the streets of some city, in an alley there's 2 stabbed bodies and one body that practically disintegrated. This is in the first season alone, am I really to believe people are going to wonder what the hell happened and go about their business? How do you hide 10 female kidnappings within the span of 6 months in a really small village of probably 1000 people? Panic spread across the village and there will be parents demanding closure since these girls came from stable families. The story would have gotten away with it if these were all problem children like the girls Epstein preyed on.

In any case, it's an adaptation of shonen in a weekly serialized manga so I didn't expect these kinds of nuances to be addressed. Still a decent show. But there was such an easy solution to solve this, have settlements built around where wisteria trees grow.

Generally demons attack don't leave corpse since they all get eaten and the demons mostly target rural area like mountain and forest. People just assume the missing people either got eaten by beast (it was still a problem in rural Japan in those days) or just runaway. Most demons aren't openly eating and leave bodies lying around, they only do so if they got interrupted.

The demons in KnY aren't world ending threat that plunge human into a dystopia that the human has to change their way of life for them. They are relatively small scale threat, occasionally kill 1 or 2 people before moving on. Also Wisteria trees outside of one spot generally are seasonal tree.

Also it was an entire plot point in season 2 that Daki was exploiting the common action of ashinuke (running away in secret without paying your debts) explicitly to hide her presense

I've read the manga so not necessarily, if that wasn't the case then I'm sure I'd be excited. Either way I I'm excited to see the fight between Giyu, Tanjiro, and Akaza. Giyu is one of my favorites and have yet to see him fight seriously in the anime adaptation so I can't wait, hoping for a beautiful animation.

This part is what I had issue with. The girls getting kidnapped in their own homes was just too big of a problem for me to see people sweep under the rug and move on life as usual. That should have caused hysteria in the village.

Okay. But I'd ask, if people assumed people were getting eaten by an animal, wouldn't there be an exploration team to go exterminate the animal if they were taking down to many humans?

There was a rumbling before it aired that it was going to be good because of that studio.

Shueisha, with One Piece going down, My Hero whatever tanking, desperately needed another hit.
and japanese tv shows hyped this shite up as well, going so far as to bringing voice actors in on the prime-time television variaty shows and shit
i'm pretty sure the whole network pulled the gear rolling to make this shit manga happen because lately there wasn't any
and the covid hit and everyone had nothing to do but watch that garbage.

Strong demons also smart enough to prevent the people from raising suspicious(since they know to hide themselves), they generally target isolated family rather than settlement. Like among the demons that we see throughout the story, only like 2 are showed to primary get their food from large human settlement. The rest just target people live in middle of the woods.

Also I wouldn't say that the kidnapped girls didn't raise any hysterical, just that those case doesn't leave any traits for normal people to make sense of the situation.

I have some issues with the series but they're only nitpicks. Like how it doesn't make it immediately clear that the elements of the breathing styles are actually being conjured or not, not that it makes a big difference since it looks cool and has no effect on anything anyway. But another thing that I had some issue with is asspulls. It's not a huge issue since the demons just tend to out-asspull the MC's asspulls so it's entertaining and it's just a battle of hax at that point, but why does there need to be asspulls in the first place? I understand that it's for the hype and stuff but I wouldn't mind some more buildup or foreshadowing ahead of time, at least on the MC's part. The demon's pulling shit out of nowhere is great since we hardly see the demons or anything from their point of view, so their asspulls come as much of a surprise to us as it does the main characters and I like that.
