Is is really that hard to move over 80 troops and clerks and the like from the British military?
There's 150k British active duty regulars out there. So it wouldn't be hard to call over a few dozen without any noticing.

Its a good psyop to release the story of your actual encounter with the supernatural as a pulp adventure novel in order to obscure that you are actually hunting down and killing vampires and shit in your spare time.
They do talk about the Hellsing organization making Alucard significantly more powerful in the last 100 years of experiments and the like.
So its probable that back in the day he was far more like a more powerful Luke Valentine rather than the absolute monster he is now.
Extremely strong but stoppable.
