This was fucking terrible
This was fucking terrible
First half was shaping up to be aotd, second half.. at least hiling is still hot
looks like a show for retarded children
the drop in quality was fucking insane. the last 2 episodes were astoundingly stupid. it felt like a different writing team took over
I feel like Boijji's disability never really came into play in any substantial way
>I feel like Boijji's disability never really came into play
>even though his inability to hear and speak is the reason why he's so isolated and misunderstood until the end of the season
How could his disability have been "in play" for you?
>>inability to hear
>can clearly hear and understand what people are saying
>has a literal mouthpiece who somehow understands everything he wants to say
>Modern anime sucks
Nothing new under the sun.
you guys kept watching after the second half? I thought it was obvious crap after 3 episodes
You have no excuse not to know he can lip read. That was explained right at the very beginning of the first episode.
He can't hear. He reads lips. If he cant see someone's lips, he doesn't know that they're speaking, which is why Kage has to repeat things every time a helmeted person speaks, why Bojji doesn't react at all when Ouken is screeching inside the rock, why Bojji doesn't know when the mirror is talking, etc.
When Kage isn't with Bojji, Bojji does charades to try to get his message across or he's SOL, as seen later in the manga when he and Kage are apart.
How does he read Kage's lips?
The way that Kage's mouth is drawn is incredibly stylised, but for all intents and purposes, he has fully decipherable mouth and lip movements.
It's harder for me to believe that Bojji can read Mitsumata's lips, but it's fine for a fantasy anime.
Nope, it's actually a very good show.
Bocchi is so gentle it makes me cry. Pls feed me with Season 2, already.
First half was an adventure and a travel
Second half was battle shonen shit
hes one of the few good characters honestly. mainly because he doesnt have poorly written dialogue to spout every 5 seconds
Overrated shit, Im glad it flopped
>flopped
Season 2 is already confirmed, user.
The second half was literally retarded.
> suddenly straight up the strongest superhuman Boji after a week of training
> everyone gets healed
> healed again
> healed one more time
> One more time! Now King Bosse heals everyone his actions hurt
> Miranjo crimes forgiven
> Daida marrying his groomer Miranjo who lusts after his dads cock and tries to kill his mom and brother
did the author have a stroke
No it isn't.
Exactly, the constant healing really fucking destroyed any semblance of stakes. And the constant forgiveness and victimization of the villains despite the fact they were extremely shitty people was another major issue I had
>first part about little guy struggling with his handicaps, insecurities, trauma and other limitations in life
>suddenly the strongest motherfucker in the universe about a few days training with some guy
Even by shonen standards this is fucking ludicrous
I don't get why people bitch so much about the healing. Was the author supposed to let a literally undefeatable maniac kill off the majority of the cast in one fight?
Am I the only one who rather dislikes certain episodes rather than the second part? First half of the first part was kino, but the second half was weak. Then the first episode of part 2 were weak too but then with 17 I think came one of my favorite episodes of the whole series and the latter two with Ouken and the lore with the gods and up to episode 21 were kino again. 22 was meh again and 23 a good last episode/start of the new adventure.
So if anything I would say that it's the middle part that sucked, not the second part.
The part right after this is adventure and travel again, funny enough.
I gave up on this somewhere around the point where half the cast were sitting in the courtyard going "THE TABLES HAVE TURNED, NOW THEY'VE TURNED AGAIN, NOW THEY'VE TURNED AGAIN." Sounds like maybe the rest of you should have done so as well.
>after a few days training*
fug
Even the weaker episodes from part 1 were better than the best from part 2, except maybe the one where Doumas fights Desha and apologizes (with the Gigan scene too)
Did all of that happen in the manga? Because it sure felt like filler
Here he is, the strongest man in the world! Having one OP combat technique really solves every problem.
Yes, it all happens in the manga, although the order of a few things has been shuffled slightly.
Bojji trained with Despa for months, and Despa only gave him knowledge and techniques that utilized his existing strengths.
He was fighting an immortal man. He only lost because nobody thought about throwing his head somewhere else. Later he defeats an invincible man.
Literally the only series in 2022 I enjoyed so far, but I guess I will agree with the mass. I hated the monster fights though and that they stretched for like three episodes. The other thing I hated were Miranjo and Bosse's flashbacks and the marriage stuff at the end. The marriage theme should have been about Dorshe and Hilling. If these three things were different it would be perfect for me.
At least the post-anime manga is fucking great so far.
wow months, that's sure enough to become God-tier strong no questions asked
Bochi was poggies. I do not know why do you complain. I cant wait for Season TWO
TWO?
>but I guess I will agree with the mass
I RARELY agree with the mass.
Well whatever. Current season is better than the last one but it's still missing something that that makes it special so far. Maybe SMT if it ever gets subs.
I loved the first and second parts despite having some issues with the second part. Looking forward to seeing more of the story.
Remember that on average by 16 yo the average shonen protag is a retired war veteran
>God-tier strong
Are you unironically retarded?
Bojji learned how to stab people in key points taking advantage of the agility and dexterity he's been building up for his entire life.
What part of "literally cursed to have 0 physical strength" did you not understand?
You powerlevelfags are so tiresome. Bojji's abilities don't solve all of his conflicts. This isn't DBZ.
I really like the Oyabu chapters but I am already missing my ass man
>Are you unironically retarded?
Are you?
Can you not recognize an obvious impossible cop-out when you see one?
Ouken and Bojji teaming up, when
Ahuehuehuehue
90% of Yea Forums are shounen spics after the rest has left. Most only return to discuss their favorite series of the season these days. Or for manga threads.
Thanks to the chaotic translation releases for this series and the shitty mangadex versions most people overlook it though or wait till someone translated all of it from the start.
he'll come save Bojji and Kage from that shady guy soon hopefully
Ouken IS the shady guy
Should I feel stupid for enjoying it all the way through by not thinking too hard about things or is ignorance truly bliss even in the long run?
>that shady guy
Which one? Oyab?
Probably. I'm not sure what his name is but the one Bojji was admiring so much.
>the shitty mangadex versions
I've actually seen people reading the HH mistranslations and getting the wrong impression from certain pages and it makes me seethe. A series is better off not being translated than being fucked up by retards.
Yeah, that's Oyab. I wonder if he's actually going to get a chance to try to kill Kage.
No. Fuck the edge culture. If you dislike a thing just drop it instead of wasting your time with it and if you enjoy it all the way though be man enough to say so.
I think it's good to just let yourself enjoy what you enjoy and not obsess over the bad parts. I've seen people say Miranjo soured the whole second part for them but there's still so much I liked in the second half that she couldn't ruin it for me.
Nah, if you liked it then you liked it. Don't think too hard about. I mean it's a fantasy cartoon about a deaf boy who talks like a Moonbase Alpha player, it's just a fun little story.
This . I actually didn't hate Miranjo, but I wanted Bosse's circle to acknowledge that everything was pretty much his fault. Still, it didn't ruin anything for me. There's so much about the series that interests me.
One of my absolute favorite comic series ever is hated as fuck by people that initially loved it because they followed it monthly and headcanoned so much stuff that eventually didn't happen and discussed it to death so often they lost their shit over every single detail they didn't like in the later half. So when I picked it up after it had ended everybody warned me about how fucking shit it gets but I read it in one go and loved all of it. Maybe it was for the best.
After reading it a third time I can even see the wasted potential for some parts, but since I didn't spend literal years seething over this it doesn't really sully my experience.
Did anyone else get the memo that Bosse stole his son's power or is Daida and Miranjo just taking that to their grave
>Desha is as ugly as you
>Ouken is as dumb as you
>Despa is as weak as you
Holy shit they are literally me
>What part of "literally cursed to have 0 physical strength" did you not understand?
How is that relevant when he one shots everything anyway
I'd like to see him try and fail spectacularly. Maybe Bojji would be successful in trying to kill someone this time.
I don't think anyone else knows, except maybe Despa. Despa hasn't brought it up, but he should have been able to find it in Miranjo's memories.
I never bothered with this because it's got one of the most hateable MC designs I've ever seen. I want to wear my steel-toed boots and punt this little faggot into a shallow grave next to Dr Stone and his fucking leek head.
I really hope Bojji does actually kill someone. Too few series explore the potential and the consequences of a young protagonist to kill someone who's threatening them or their loved ones, and I feel like the managka has set up for it with both Bojji and Ouken.
