Plot wise and mechanics is nothing alike. But it follows the same format visual novel turn based rpg gacha game. Key is trying to emulate typemoon success in the mobage gacha business with a version of their own. It's doing decently so far and i really like how it's fully voiced.

I actually will never understand the hate boner for Maeda. Just like this webm, even his worst shit produces so much meme material and entertaining threads in comparison with genuine shit nobody likes or cares about, yet some people act like he killed their mother or something after that.

He still writes, just not for the anime anymore, only games/novels/music. But I predict that even for the anime he will recover at some point and try once more in like 5 years from now or so.

Kamisama ni Hatta Hi is the culmination of all of Maeda's flaws as an anime writer; it feels like he's trying to shove a 50-hour VN into a 12-episode anime despite it being an anime original, the sudden dark twist comes out of almost nowhere and all the Hackerman stuff feels wildly out of place, and the crybait is done to the expense of the actual writing as MC-kuns actions whie infiltrating the sanitorium are hilariously stupid.
Hackerman appearing in earlier episodes was also something forced on Maeda by the rest of the production committee, originally it would've come even more out of the blue.

MC-kun realizing that his crush on Izanami was really shallow and based on nothing was actually a pretty neat idea that might've worked better if Maeda had rememembered to give Izanami a personality. I personally don't think that the Hina romance was too bad in theory, and Maeda has a history of favoring younger heroines for the main romance, but this also comes basically out of nowhere when MC-kun never really showed a hint of romantic interest in Hina.

Also even if it were a 50-episode anime or a proper VN, I don't know if this story would work. The entire thing with Hina having a computer chip in her brain and everything that comes afterwards is too stupid to be salvageable, I think.

Maeda has written a lot of successful stories. Nobody bats a thousand, its practically inevitable that if you write enough then a real steamer will get through. I think that the failure of Kamisama is also largely on the production committee for allowing this to go forward.

I'm actually working through this show right now after Aquatope made me interested in PA Works stuff I missed through the years.

It's got a bit of a niche. If you're not a keyfag or a yurifag you're less likely to find out about it. I'm both and I still only learned about the game's existence last month.
It's good so far, just in a bit of a story lull, hence the drop. The latest chapter is not nearly as good as the one before it while also being a nasty wall that will stop most f2p players dead in their tracks. Chapter 4 coming out should see it rise through the ranks again, and that'll probably happen at the start of next month.

Yes, this is fine. The game shot up like crazy earlier with Score Attack's release before dropping back down again. It will once again shoot up like crazy tomorrow once SS Yuina becomes available, and it will yet again shoot up once chapter 4 comes out, likely at the start of next month. So long as there's not a whole lot to do or spend on beyond that, the game will continue to bounce up and down like this.
