The Seven Warlords were better antagonists than the Yonko.

Not really. We've only seen 2 of the emperors in full force and both Kaido and Big Mom are better than Doffy. Blackbeard is still the best antagonist but he's an overlap between warlord and emperorhood but he's been active far more as an emperor so I'm counting him as one of the Yonko.

If you mention Yamato or Carrot you get a automatic range ban of 8 hours. Doubled every time repeats the same mistake.
We had a couple of good threads a couple of days ago that are slow and comfy because the fucking avatarfag was not around.
About the manga? I think Oda was forced to add Yamato and the Nika bullshit by the editors. Both are added without proper foreshadowing and seem made out to gather views or reads instead of adding to the story. The manga version of clickbait.

Doffy, Moira, and Kuma were great. The rest are glorified allies (Kuma too but he had great threatening moments). Blackbeard is both yonko and warlord so he doesn't count.

is everyone just forgetting crocodile

>Post your unpopular opinions
Homosexual sex with Kaidou the dragon

>the utter despair when kuma fucked everyone twice
Kino

Yeah fuckin' right. Croc was a dumbass who fell for Sanji's shitty trick because he couldn't recognize the voice of his own subordinate and then he kept letting Luffy live until it cost him everything. Moria was an asspulling machine, constantly getting new and convoluted powers to artificially suspend the tension. Doffy does the same shit as Moria too, completely overpowered to the point of not making any sense. How do you stitch together internal injuries without x-ray vision? How do you control the actions of hundreds of people without even looking at them by using strings when you've only got two hands? How come no one tries to burn the strings? How come no one can cut them but Luffy can snap them through brute force? Have you ever seen fiber where pulling it apart is more effective than just cutting it? Hancock sucked too, her whole arc was so predictable. The coolest shichibukai are the ones that don't get to do jack shit like Mihawk or Kuma where they show up for a little bit, flex, and then walk back out for a few more years.

Here's the real unpopular opinion: Ace sucks. He was cool at first, but he came off so pathetic after you learn that he was the son of Roger and he gave up trying to be king so he can work under his dad's old rival and couldn't make him king either before he jobbed to a tubby guy who was just coming to grips with his devil fruit power because Ace is a glass cannon and he's never heard of busoshoku haki or kenbunshoku haki in his life, apparently, even though he's a big time pirate who works out of the New World. He's also dumb enough to fall for an obvious taunt and then take a hit from Akainu instead of just reaching over with his devil fruit power to move Luffy out of the way or hit Akainu when he had his back turned. No one tried to restrain Ace or knock him out cold so they could just forcibly carry him off the battlefield and his death felt like dramatic convenience.

Seven crew members was enough.

Attached: The real Sraw Hat crew.png (622x618, 248.77K)

Yamato will never join. Oda never wrote her as a new nakama.

Antags

Crocodile > Doflamingo > Moria > Kuma > Kekdo > Big Meme

*5

I don't think gear 5/joyboy was an asspull, and I also think it was well implemented.

Franky is great. Usopp doesn't exist anymore. Oda left Robin in Enies Lobby. Chopper sells goodies. Brook has a cool moment every 5 years and Jinbei is a waste of space.

It's all about Luffy, Zoro, Nami, Sanji really.

Marineford sucks

Oda doenst know how the fuck to manage 10 crew members to add another one

>then he kept letting Luffy live until it cost him everything
Early villains had the excuse of not knowing who Luffy was. Kaido and Big Mom still letting Luffy live after having captured him is just retarded

Jinbe will never be a real Straw Hat. His character has nowhere to grow and change and he has probably already peaked in terms of power. We have watched all the Straw Hats grow stronger and change as people, except for Jinbe - he's just an overleveled character that joins your party in the last act of the game. His character would've been way more memorable if he had sacrificed himself for Luffy at some point.

Attached: Jinbe.png (994x1268, 1.15M)

Based

What do you mean "sacrificed"? You mean like literally get himself killed for Luffy? he's done plenty of suicidal things before, but he won't die because he's just too tough. He pretty much has to be an exemplary physical specimen to compensate for the fact that he has no devil fruit power and doesn't use any weapons. If it weren't for Jinbei, every fishman would be a jobber. He is the only exception.

Honestly, Law feels more like the 10th Straw hat than Jinbei

I don't know if this is unpopular, but Chopper has never gelled with me solely due to the fact that he is a reindeer. When I think of pirates, I think of tropical settings or, at the very least, temperate, and yet here is an animal normally associated with polar regions. Maybe if Oda had taken the opportunity to weave in more of that viking aesthetic he loves so much into Chopper's design, then he wouldn't feel so out of place. Chopper wasn't even that cute when he was first introduced. It took a while for him to stop looking so frumpy.

Y'know what I would rather have as an animal companion? A parrot. Where are all the parrots in this pirate manga? We've got two guys with monkeys, but no parrots?

Blackbeard peaked as a Warlord (Banaro, Impel Down, Marineford)
He still hasn't done anything as a Yonko yet.

Post-timeskip is, sum of its parts, better than pre-timeskip. Individually, on a case-by-case, arc-by-arc basis, it is worse but as a total work it is stronger.

Enel is second only to Luffy
Godlets need not to apply

enel was a man playing god, luffy is a god playing man. they are not equal

t. godlet

>Dressrosas was the peak of OnePiece, even if the arc was trash
What sense does that make.

op said unpopular opinions, not incoherent ones

in the case of big mom wasnt she going to execute him anyway?
and kaido made it a focus to try and break his spirit to recruit him because its literally his favorite thing to do

With Kaido you can excuse it because he's the kind of guy to beat the shit out of people, then offer them a job.
With Big Mom it's inexcusable though.

Series would've been better off without Sanji, if a Straw Hat ever has to die in this series it should be him

I feel like Yamato doesn't really work as a Straw Hat.
Instead of being introduced to the audience organically, she was thrust onto us in the middle of the Raid.
Her backstory's nowhere near as tragic as something like Brook's, Robin's, or Chopper's, so we have way less attachment to her.
Her entire personality revolves around wanting to be someone else. Instead of having an actual personality but still being similar to whoever they inherited the will of like Luffy, Yamato's personality is nothing but her will.
She's a Mythical Zoan? Luffy has those too.
She has ice powers? We already have Brook.

The series would lose more if Sanji died than if Zoro died.

Anyway.

Nami is the one that should die.

We'll never get a crew this kino again.

kinda true,
highest highs, and lowest lows.

doffy was more threatening than Kaidou and G5 is an anticlimax in contrast to G4

A real drawback of One Piece’s scope is that these characters were all deeply integral to Luffy’s life for like two and a half years of published story only to basically never be thought about again

It's a big ocean. But Bon Clay will be the bonus final crewmate.

Magellan is Yonko tier.

Buggy will be important soon and be claimed as as a threat on the same level as the Yonkos.
Trust the plan.

Franky's Post TS design is good and makes sense in the context of the story.

Akainu is a fun character and I enjoy seeing him doing things

>kaido and big mom better than doffy
yeah maybe in regards to strength level for powerfags but his character writing is far far better than big meme or toondo

Thriller Bark is one of the top 5 best arcs of the series

Will they become deadbeat fathers like Shanks?

Nah

>Luffy
Yeah because he'll die before his kid can even walk
>Kidd
No idea; he'll either be one of those edgelords who turn out to be super doting dads or be single for the rest of his life.
>Law
Nope, Law will likely be the best dad of the group. He can always just settle down somewhere and become a doctor with a family.
>Zoro
Dude's dick will get lost on his way to the pussy and he'll never knock up whatever girl he hooks up with.
>Killer
No idea

Punk Hazard is by far the worst post time skip arc.

>Final boss is a joke, knocks out luffy with a bs move and immediately eats it once luffy gets back to him.
>Fire and ice island except its pretty much all on the ice side
>Dumb gimmicks like the Freaky Friday shit lost its charm fast.
>Things that feel like they should be cool like Zoro killing that dragon just kind of come and go.
>Characters get introduced and fucking die like bird bitch or Virgo, which is really fucking weird for one piece in general.
>Caesar clown is such a monster for experimenting on children and getting his men killed, but he does us a few solids in the next few arcs so we just kind of let him go after whole cake lol.
>Pretty much all just buildup for payoffs later.

People harp on fishman island but at least it has something to call its own. Remove the stuff that isn't just setup for the next three arcs and theirs practically nothing.

>didn't teach Luffy advanced CoA

In retrospect, he really half-assed his job as a teacher.

So we know that Ushimaru isn’t Zoro’s father, but he’s definitely still related to him in someway, right? Unless this is a Kuina and Tashigi situation.

You forgot
>Didn't even train him for the full two years, says "he taught him everything" and just kind of leaves.

He taught him the basics of haki and went to fuck Shakky. Can't blame him for wanting to go back and hit that a few more times.

This will never not feel wrong.

Foe some reason i can't see jinbei as a strawhat but he fits perfectly in the impel down crew, this is still the best crew of the series btw

Gear 5 makes Luffy all white so he looks like a cartoon from the 30s but this is how he would look without that filter, because Nika was a lunarian.
Prove me wrong.

Is she an elf?

I don't understand how Luffy gets stronger. Other shounen have the characters actually train and get better between arcs but Luffy just goes from barely fighting Katakuri, to getting one shot by Kaido, then getting 5 shot by Kaido, then fighting Kaido equally. How did he get strong when all he was doing was getting beat up?

haki blooms in the heat of difficult battles.
