I feel in love with this anime. I wasn't expecting hard-boiled golf girls, but the show is just so charming despite the low production values. I just love the attitude of the MC.

The show has done a very good job at establishing Eve as a protagonist. Off the tea we want to root for her because she's helping to take care of the kids. We get enough snippets of her past to know there's a reason she's a golf freak, and given her a bit of a complex feeling about the sport where she's not normally happy or challenged but doesn't completely hate the game either makes you want to see her learn to be passionate for it. Then you add in Aoi who humbled her early on but also sparked that interest in finding someone who can really push her makes the dynamic interesting. You can sort of root for both of them and will be happy no matter who ends up winning because the one's success actually pushes the other to be better and happier. It's probably really too early to call it but this is a very good way to establish a sense of rivalry.

Eve is just amazing and I'm really rooting for her, it's astonishing how the anime shifted gears from prodigy to pure underdog energy so easily. And while I do want to see Eve win, Aoi was also handled very well, it wasn't the kind of rivalry I was expecting, there was some deeper nuance to it that I very much appreciate. And to this point, Aoi didn't come off as spoiled or undeservedly privileged, she was intense but also very likeable. I'm only concerned about the move to a more serious format now, I wanted to see more high-stakes "underground golfing" in secret golf courses by the rail tracks, so I was a bit disappointed with Eve registering in an actual golf competition. Other than that, I was only confused with the music video segment in the first episode, but even that was thoroughly entertaining.
Really looking forward to the next episode. This was a very nice surprise.

Aoi is the character I'm actually interested and very curious to see what they do with. Eve I feel like we have a sort of clear view on, if nothing else, her personality and immediate goals. So what happens with Aoi will very interesting to see. The OP sort of suggests that her cadies view on her as someone with "No sense of pressure or tension" might not as true as she or Aoi's mother thinks. Perhaps certainly a genuine true love of the game but also maybe something going on with her dad?

What's the point of introducing supposedly important characters of opposite sex in a predominantly single gendered cast show if you can't give them bathing scenes (even if its just once) of both genders instead of just one? Yuri!!! on Ice and Warlords of Sigrdrifa (both of which I watched as they aired) have that problem and are the reasons I reconsidered that I barely watch anime like those anymore.
