Some stuff on that list isn't even out yet (Pluto) or doesn't exist anymore (Phantom Blood).
It's definitely one of the best charts out there though. If you follow it it forces you to watch good stuff, popular stuff, niche stuff, and bad stuff, and to also do some research of your own.
It's really good to get someone acquainted with the medium as a whole.

But people on that version of Yea Forums did all the exact same things people do now. They watched the same seasonal and fan pandering garbage. They larped as oldfags for social credit score. They made 3x3 threads to show off their superior taste and they dissed on classic shows like TTGL to make people reply. In fact only a few things that are different now is that the humor is a lot worse and there's more people overtly erping. At no point was there an official list of entry level shows and movies.

Mononoke is pretentious, and Last Exile was too cut up to be a good series. Other than that, it's still a decent list, though we got some stuff that would need to be added in these ten years

As a huge Tenchi Muyo fan, and as someone who hasn't watched at least 80% of that image, I assure you it is the worst thing there, and is certainly not good.
