If you watch the anime, then before you watch the last episode of season 2, read the epilogue of book 5 (aka Part 2: Volume 2); the anime butchers the scene REALLY badly. To be specific, when this scene occurs, stop watching and start reading. After that you can continue to watch. It is the emotional climax of the first quarter of the series, and it is horrendously bad in the anime.
Robert Jenkins
Listen to this user. I did and am better off for it. Seriously though, the anime director who did the butchering fucking needs to be fired.
Nicholas Mitchell
I actually convinced my friend to read the LN due to how bad they butchered it. And he couldnt believe how much they fucked it up after reading it

Myne showing japans culture to ferdinand. Myne take a bath while he was forced to watch. Ferdinand seeing Mynes graduation in which he begins to mistake that she was an upper class girl in her previous life due to the fancy kimono she wore. Just to name a few things

>>What are official documents
at the point where the maybe 5% of population who even can read and write use more than a barrel of ink for official documents you have created a bureaucracy worse than mondern day Germany, to scale. at that point the construction guild is probably in on it because the ink guild keeps getting them contracts to build storage buildings for archive all these documents. next thing you know the next person will be killed by a paper avalanche.
>Why would a blacksmith know how to make proper ink? You know proper ink is more than just soot dipped in water right? Thats the literal shittest kind of ink there is
even if it's "the shittest kind", that's a kind, of which we learned this episode that so far there's only 1 and even the idea of creating another seemed inconceivable to a person of the trade. at that point you start experimenting by adding other ingredients like oil, fat, alcohol, vinegar (if that has been invented yet) etc.
>Its literal slave labor, they dont get payed.
so that's why their production rate is so shit. imagine how productive they could be if they got paid!
Aaron Peterson
>they only manage to create 80 books with 15 pages and no hard cover in an undisclosed number of weeks, despite having access to a wood plate printing press
Didn't they need to make the paper from scratch too? That adds a lot of time.

Bentley Jackson
I know this must be a hard concept for some to understand, but there is more than one person other than you on the internet, and they do not always agree with everything.
Also someone claiming there's some "genuine oversight" doesn't mean there actually is.
Wyatt Barnes
There actually is other kinds of ink but they belong to the dyeing guild. And the reason blacksmiths dont just make their own ink is magic contracts. Magic contracts can be made fief wide and anyone who breaks them will literally turn to dust so people just keep their nose out of shit thats contracted to other guilds.
As for the whole guild thing, guilds are basically just groups protected under certain contracts, So the ink guild that makes the ink for nobility and rich merchants cant just do whatever they want.

Why would she act differently? It's the same person. Rather complain about her usually acting like a brat when she's 20+ years old. But you'll sound like a retard because it has been stated that she's a fucking book obsessed socially retarded maniac.
Julian Watson
Bookworm is not recommended because of realism (because let's face it realism is boring).
I's recommended because of its world consistency, its characters building and its excellent foreshadowing. All qualities that are usually sparse in LN in general and isekai in particular.
Brayden Diaz
>world consistency
constistently moronic more like
>characters building
1-dimensional at best
>excellent foreshadowing

ink is used in documents and contracts, so of course a small guild in the capital of medium-sized duchy is reasonable. Soot-based ink doesn't work well for partchment, so the more complex version is used instead, and the complex receipe for it is obviously a trade secret
the printing press they have is a very basic design, it requires quite a bit of strength to operate. all the resources used so far are cheap, and while the books are cheaper
than partchment-based ones they still are considered and priced as luxury goods.
the throwing away broth stuff actually happened in England, so it's dumb but not impossible - and the future dishes Myne will make are actually complex.
Also children in orphanage were starving because bezenwast deliberately left them to starve and nobody outside the temple cares what happens there
Xavier Torres
Remember there's a shortage of blue robes because of the recent purge, their leftovers are usually what ends up with the greys.

>how far behind are the translations of the ln?
j-novel translations are on Part 4.
Japanese release is on Part 5.
Part 5 is the last arc (not counting fanbooks, side stories, collected twitters, reference materials, and the fledgeling Hannelore sequel).
Personally I wouldn't recommend the j-novel translations, but to each their own.
Tyler Taylor
The LNs are still behind the WN.
Carson Jackson
Did you like the new episode?
Grayson Watson
>Did you like the new episode?
It has its charm.
It differs from the LN- Benno offers to cosign with Myne because he knows Myne's investments will pay off; in the anime she had to convince him.
In the LN Wolf isn't shown "on screen" and it is never revealed in any of the content at all what he looks like, who hired him, or who killed him. Even the author doesn't know, which basically means he was supposed to be a throwaway character.
Benjamin Sanchez
It's a "Muh glorious Nihon" isekai, of course nothing in it holds up to critical analysis
Connor Harris
user... Almost everything she introduces is European. The only things that are nipponese are shioyaki and yuzen. You're retarded.
Julian Hughes
>Personally I wouldn't recommend the j-novel translations
That's pretty damning, I don't find them worse than any other official LN translation. In fact I'd say they're top quartile, easy. Given that the alternative is reading them raw, anyone who can't read moonrunes should really read the j-novel translations.
Liam Sanchez
I didn't know Patreon existed in the middle ages.
Gabriel Hernandez
I think it retained the same quality it had of previous seasons, which isn't really bad. I just think it can be improved more, like reducing more still scenes.
Luis Scott
the middle ages was all about patronage.
William Russell
i did
actually, in this season, this one was the one i had the most fun with, so far
it appears the studio already knows the chemistry between the characters and knows how to present the original material in the adaptation, though that's not very surprising after 26 episodes
Brayden Young
Does she invent a vibratir and onahole? How about modern drawing techniques and knowledge to create sone nice porn?

>That's pretty damning, I don't find them worse than any other official LN translation. In fact I'd say they're top quartile, easy. Given that the alternative is reading them raw, anyone who can't read moonrunes should really read the j-novel translations.
I've read both the raws and the j-novel translation.
I mentioned this in the last thread
The j-novel translation has too much purple prose, memes, mistranslations and misinterpretations, and "The americans don't known how to pronounce Jürgenschmidt SO WE HAVE TO CHANGE ALL THE NAMES".
Also, in the japanese version, Myne's got a sort of dry wit, something like .... british humor. In the J-novel translations, she comes off as an unbearably obnoxious cunt.
Michael Cox
>obnoxious cunt
Maybe they've tried to americanize that part too?
Nathaniel Miller
There was clear room for improvement, but it was serviceable.
Levi Nguyen
Would have been better if we got to see her wearing her new undies.
Hudson Peterson
Hmm, so far I've only read up to the beginning of P3 in english, and then the rest in japanese, so I haven't gone back to compare the raws to the translation. I guess I'll keep an eye out for purple prose. I do remember memes getting added and I fucking hate that too but it's so common these days I've just gotten used to it.
A retranslation is probably never going to happen, but maybe someday someone will go through and re-edit to clean up the errors and memes.
Hunter Ortiz
To add to your post, I do not understand why the hell they replaced almost all uses of "Aub" with "Archduke". Is it because burgers are too stupid to remember fictional titles? Then why do you keep Zent and Giebe?
