Why are native anglo speakers incapable of correctly pronouning even their own language?
They're not English voice actors, retard
got a point there OP.
I dunno, maybe because your tongue isn't good at speaking in a language you have no familiarity with?
Why are westerners so racist to japs in anime
Are they really like this in the real world
Japanese schools often focus more in memorization and writing test when it come to English or other foreign language. Thus they often suck when it come to speaking or pronunciation.
If this board is anything to go by, then yes
They're not saying English words, they're saying Japanese loanwords that came from English. And hey heads up, you're not pronouncing any of the loanwords we use in English the way they're pronounced in the countries they're from either.
I'm even more racist.
>loan words
We don’t have any
because they are bad at their jobs
Different morphomes
I pronounce gnocchi as it's pronounced in Italian and I expect everyone else to do the same.
Tsunami, Gheisha, Samurai are some of the loanwords from Japan.
Lots of words in English are loanwords that got slowly morph into new English words, most of them came from Latin and French
Say something in Japanese and it will sound cringe.
the voiced alveolar lateral approximant is pretty difficult to master if you don't grow up using it
Because Japs are subhumans, that's why
A fuck ton of english words came from France, mainly the military related stuff
You know how lots of people can't roll their Rs like in Spanish? English has a lot of sounds that take practice to pull off for non native speakers. The same goes for distinguishing a real accent from a shitty fake.
It's easy to hold ESLs in contempt until you've been speaking spanish for a year and realize that you can't. fucking. pronounce. the S in the phrase "más rápido" without failing to roll the following R properly, and you practice for hours to get it down until you give up and settle for "má' rápido" instead.
honcho (as in head honcho) is a japanese loanword
Japs think the entire world hates them for some reason
Three quarters of your language are loanwords anglo. There is a reason a personification of English language is three midgets in a trenchcoat. Chauffeur champaign champion bazaar cafe kindergarten calque - and that's just from the top of my head. Here is your (You).
Karaoke, Origami, Teriyaki, Ninja, Sensei, Typhoon, Emoji
Reminds me of the Paranoia Agent dub, where some random background girl pronounced Kareoke the Japanese way. It was surreal as fuck.
i think the better image of english is pic related
And using the Roman alphabet for writing it was like trying to fit a cannonball in the square hole.
Nice. I did specify personification not just image representation but your image does fit extremely well.
The only time thus has ever happened with me is Arabic. I only speak English but don't struggle to pronounce anything in Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Hindi, German, French, Spanish, Russian, etc.
How can you possibly know that you're pronouncing phrases from all those languages properly, let alone convincingly? Most ESLs can't tell good pronunciation from bad and it works both ways. Unless you're a serious statistical outlier (which you could be, to be fair), you're probably not as good as you think.
Brittons, Aussies and mutts don't speak the exact same english retard
They are not good at foreign languages, not just English, and they can't remember them.
They don't go to the U.S. or the U.K. either.
agreed, english either should use futhark
karate chop
You're not as good as you think. You're an autist.
itou shizuka's voice is still pretty lewd
Irina is so great
because japs teach english wrong as something purely written and have no oral requirement
The accent might be off, but not like saying sando ichi or puroguramu. Weebs cope by saying they are just loan words, but it makes no difference as when saying english words. The worst that english does to japanese loan words is pronounce e like i or ey like karatey or karati
Japanese inability to pronounce foreign words is entirely due to its writing system that are inadequate to represent many foreign words. they can't even represent original chinese syllables. whereas roman letters can much more accurately represent japanese words, even ingurishu. there are a lot of things in natural speech that cant be represented by roman script such as tone, but these are also not represented by japanese kana.
In short, japanese really do have a harder time pronouncing foreign words than others, and even impossible to represent and distinguish words.
Damn right.
because the japanese language system autistically attaches a vowel to almost every consonant they got. they also straight up dont have some vowels like V and L. that's why they end up sounding them out as B and R respectively. their selection of vowels is also limited. if you asked a native english speaker to pronounce things out of arabic, hebrew, assyrian, or some other middle eastern language that has sounds they've never made they'd have a hard time too.
So why should the nips speak with another accent than their own?
Please step on me Bitch-sensei
what sounds do you make from that part of your mouth? "L" and "R?" I'm an ESL, and I mostly pronounce the "zee" sound as "ess," happens the most with short words like 'his' or 'is' or 'was.'
Japs shamelessly make up wrong pronunciation. They don't even try. Anglos do it too but not as often. Like when foreign words that contain the letter i is pronounced like ai. It goes beyond just accent.
Because English voice actors are incapable of pronouncing basic Japanese words.
You simply think they do a decent approximation because you don't speak Japanese, but to a Japanese person, how these voice actors pronounce the names of Japanese people and places sounds very wrong and Japanese people tend to say it feels as though they insert or leave out parts of words.
Even simple words such as“kun” are not pronounced correctly; it does not, in fact, end on an “n” sound which is simply romanization.

Why are Dub voice actors incapable of pronouncing simple Japanese names?
Those are just letter names. Every language has their version. It is not the like they say arOesE for rose or piiAentii for pants.
>asks on a western website fueled by weebs
The Western characters in Anime are basically Anglo, so yes.
...
It's foreign.
i prefer engrish desu
I thought america is one of the weebest country on earth
and yet the people on this board will insist that animes is incorrect
The entirety of SEA is way more weeb.
R is (a)R not (e)R
W is double U, not double V

t. Anglo
wait until niggas find out that R in japanese is like G, R and L at the same time from a nerve control perspective
Well yes, because English is a fucking pidgin. Can't have loanwords when your entire language is loanwords.
I didn't even know there was a difference between how you pronounce F and TH until I was like 18. That took quite an effort to correct, I couldn't even make the TH sound at first and it was years before it became natural. Everyone just speaks like that where I live and nobody ever pointed it out so I was ignorant.
Now I constantly get asked where I'm from when I talk to people because I speak with RP instead of the regional accent.
wtf where are you from
Somewhere in south-east England. Like, I know someone called Ruth who pronounces her name like Roof, and can't say it any other way.
