I don't know if it's overthinking. Something about his expressions are even weird. Not sure if he'll be a villain, but he's different.

What made Barnaby get the plants?

I expected Netflix to screw the season up.
The villains were a bit too obnoxious but other than that no real complaints

I wonder if he names them.

was fully prepared to see this guy go yandere on bunny when he was first introduced. but ya hes bad news, i can feel it. poor bunny cant have nice things for long.

Realistically speaking the Chad Twins should've beaten all of the heroes. Im sure they could've written it this way too for maximum drama so that the heroes have to deal with public scrutiny. Its not like anyone was killed either

Are we finally getting what mtivates Ouroboros members this season? Seems like whatever the donor lady was after was not at all what Maverick was trying to do with Hero TV despite being Ouroboros adjacent, wo what gives?

I'm pretty sure it's just part of his "I'm trying to find myself" story arc.

Finally some safe filesizes. Still, if I'm going to batch watch it, might as well wait for second half to drop before watching.

The first time we saw him was in a post-credit scene and he said something about taking revenge against Barnaby. But then he looked pretty okay during the episodes. Since he wants to get ordinary humans to be like NEXT I think that something happened when they were kids that made him jealous about Barnaby because he had NEXT powers

Remember Ouroboros existed before Hero TV. Maverick was just a guy that made a deal with them. If I had to guess they just like causing chaos and investing money according to where the wind blows

That book, or at least that author that was constantly on display is definitely going to be a plot point in part 2.

yeah i really dislike how barnaby's character just sort of died. so far this season feels milquetoast, it's like those kid's cartoons where every episode is another lukewarm moral lesson like "share your toys" or "hitting is wrong." it's just unambitious and bland.

I think it's because they wanted to give moments to the other heroes which is why the first episodes were so... episodic. But I think that we'll get more to point in the second half and it's going to be more serious. And with Barnaby's connection with Ouroboros he has to play an important part there

Bunny is a weird ojiisan now, embracing new hobbies outside of being after vengeance/putting on an idol act/being Maverick’s puppet who had probably been mindwiped multiple times for most of his life. Baby steps.

He also has a tiger tail plant, which is cute.

i really don't buy that excuse. it's simple bad, lazy writing. it feels like theyr'e trying really really hard not to offend anyone too and that makes for some crappy, overly safe, sterile writing. i'm not saying it needs to be constant angst and drama, but say you can look at magi. where if 2 characters had a conflict, the author could make both motivations really convincing even when they're completely opposed. this feels really gradeschool tier and neutered.

I feel the same, I've already ranted about it in the previous thread but it feels to me like Nishida doesn't have anything new to write in regards to T&B. He broke their partnership in Rising while not giving Barnaby any new development, now he broke all the semi-official other combos to create new ones and is still actively avoiding looking inside Barnaby as a character. He just doesn't want to go back to the main duo and develop it in interesting ways or he's just out of his depth and doesn't know how to. T&B don't NEED to talk in excrutiating detail about their feelings the way other Heroes have been doing this season, but a little something would go a long way. Just give Bunny an arc ffs.

Maybe a Mouth of Madness style NEXT quirk that drives everybody who reads it nuts? I want it to be satisfying so bad.

You're not wrong but I actually dont mind the "Saturday Morning Cartoon" feeling. Its comfy

Blue Rose and Ryan have way better chemistry than her and Tiger. Plus he's not old enough to be her dad.

just an aside but it also bothers me that most of the characters are not involved in dating. the only actual committed romance was kotetsu's marriage and his wife was just a background character, bland generally supportive wife with no personality. i mean, it's like they either cant or are afraid to write functional romantic relationships, which is expected for other anime but t&b is more real-world adult situations. they shouldn't all be so sexless.

i guess it's a similar anime to aggretsuko where it's more grounded and realistic in themes (work, etc, instead of typical anime for teenage audiences that's just chuunishit and wish fulfillment.)

With their lifestyles it's difficult to maintain a romantic relationship. Just look at what happened to Kotetsu, he lost his wife and couldn't be there for her and he can't even raise up his daughter. Maybe they are afraid of being in such situations and prefer to just focus on their jobs

Considering Netflix was attached I was ready for typical western SJW nonsense and REAL WORLD ISSUES.

She just has a cute crush on him, and in her episode is evident that those feelings have not entirely disappeared because she was a little flustered around him. But it seems like she's maturing and will probably forget about that as time goes on

I understand most not bothering with actual relationships but im surprised there's no frivolous work hookups. The only person interested is Fire Emblem and no one there is gay so he's out of luck

She grew up, user. Most people who have a teenage crush don't keep it into adulthood, especially when it's on a much older person. It would be boring to make that an integral and ongoing part of her character.

not romance as a focus, but a romantic partnership is pretty fundamental to a healthy well rounded adult, and the sexlessness at this point detracts from the realisticness of the characters.
