Holy shit, how does Fujimoto do it? He is only 28 years old and has already pulled FOUR MASTERPIECES in his life. This is the man who will become a legend as mangaka. Chainsaw Man and his other works are going to revolutionize the industry forever.
Holy shit, how does Fujimoto do it? He is only 28 years old and has already pulled FOUR MASTERPIECES in his life...
he's popular now so you're not allowed to like him anymore
notice how all he's influenced is zoomer garbage like Dandadan and Ayashimon
it was shit same for csm 2nd half
He's unironically a modern pioneer at his craft, there is no other way to put it. I couldn't BELIEVE the kino I was witnessing when I was reading Goodbye Eri. I'm convincde that Fujimoto lives in his own dimension at this point.
Just so we're clear, chainsawman's not one of the masterpiece. There's a oneshot he wrote before csm's serialisation that is just as good as his latest oneshots
Unironically how does he do it?
The painting one right?
Yep, i like that one but i do think this and look back are better. His old shots feels kinda random sometime, i like his recent style of writing minus csm. No offense to csm, but csm is just your typical shone with only a pinch of fujimoto's creativity.
Yeah I think the painting one can be stretch to a long oneshot like this one.
title?
CSM is a battle-shonen masterpiece. The genre itself limits the quality in general, but compared to others in the same category, it's brilliant
Little Sister's Elder Sister
Fujimoto fans be like "YO THIS IS KINO!"
i liked it a lot. The action felt cinematic and unstilted, which is rare for a manga
Fujimoto is literally a gifted autor, combine that with the fact that he spends copious amounts of consuming all sorts of movies and you get this modern legend. His creativity is overflowing and he knows how to utilize every bit of information that he absorbs. Chainsaw Man part 2 will be even better than part 1.
Rlly bros... the story has no substance and the "tricks" he used were cheesy as hell. As a visual medium, certain VNs had much better ideas and execution than this oneshot and there are countless other books that did the metafictional aspect much better.
Eh. It's a shonen manga with some tropes and cliches subverted. It's pretentious, as though it's written by a writer who thinks he's a genius for pulling this. Fujimoto is way more creative and unconventional than the stuff he wrote in csm.
Yeah like an author writing a book about an author writing a book
look back was better
If you really can't figure out why it's good I feel bad for you, maybe you're just desensitized to quality idk
Mullholland drive bros…are we getting lynched…even Inland Empire bros too
>countless other books that did the metafictional aspect much better

Post mega
Could you cultist troll stop jerking his dick? It good but not a masterpiece level. It pretty standard arty manga

>no stop liking things!!!!
why are you so buttblasted? how about you post your 5 favorite one-shots since you deem your taste to be so superior
The trope is really common in postmodern books, Fame by Kehlmann is a good one.
NTA but:
>The Third Policeman
>Pale Fire
>Tristram Shandy
>TCoL49
>S-5
I thought the previous one shot was better, but this one was pretty funny. I don't think it's a GOAT.
If you need to bring shitty books into anime discussion - the manga is clearly KINO.
>pretentious
Contrarian fags doesn't know other words?
i thought look back was trash but i liked this one
It doesn't matter how good or bad it is. This is just the same phenomenon as the "hunterchad" meme. Genuine and sarcastic dick riding blurring together until it becomes indistinguishable. It's never going to end because it's a self sustaining circlejerk where an indeterminate number of participants are there for purely ironic reasons.
Bad writing! Checkmate.
>pretty standard

Mengo's oneshot skills are better. She managed to get a greater reaction with so much less pages.
This was forced on the board daily for literal weeks.
Speaking of Mengo, I wodner how hard she came from her Fujimoto fix after so long without it.
You have to remember the average fujimoto dickrider has never read a single Garo manga.
ok reddit
completely soulless one shot, all it's remembered for is that meme panel because this board is plagued with /r9k/ tourists
I want to believe the pic was originally posted ironically
Hunter x Hunter volume 1
Hunter x Hunter volume 28
Hunter x Hunter volume 7
Hunter x Hunter volume 15
Hunter x Hunter volume 10
Hunter x Hunter volume 8
Hunter x Hunter volume 22
Hunter x Hunter volume 30

Fire Punch
It's the best word to describe it. Arrogant is another word. My point about csm stil stands.
I feel like it’s unfair to compare one shots made to be around one volume contained pieces, since most mangaka want to be serialized just from a financial perspective at least, and that comes with its own “ties”
>It's the best word to describe it
If you're twat.
Imo, its better to make one volume worth of series instead of weekly/monthly publishing model. Will results in better story quality, but the publishing industry greed tho
FACT: the dad had the best fucking lines and scenes in the movie. His acting at the end after the timeskip was phenomenal.
The guy should get nominated for best performance. He probably shouldn't win it, but he sure as hell should be a nominee.
How else can you describe oscar bait: the manga?
Alright let's post good 1-volume manga then. I'll start:
Chichi no Koyomi
Shoujo Tsubaki
Sekishoku Elegy
I laughed my ass off at the last spread, I don't think I've ever done that from a manga before.
in the midst of working on these one-shots we regretfully announce that csm part 2 is being pushed back one year
It was worth it.
I just want to pitch in about something from the ending. The bit about human brains only having a capacity for 200 years isn't real, your brain automatically writes over information when you sleep. So you probably could live for 200 years and have a normal mind.
Anyone else reminded of Wanderer Emanon
kino
>FOUR MASTERPIECES
Name them
This, but Fire Punch
Chainsaw Man
Chainsaw Man part 2 (confirmed masterpiece)
Fire Punch
Goodbye Eri
The paneling of this manga seems to be pretty lazy. It's paneled like a 4 Koma, which is usually meant for Comedy. Goodbye Eri is not a Comedy manga though, so it's a little off putting.
The manga also would've been better if so many panels weren't basically the same image, another sign of laziness on the author's part. This is especially inexcusable because Fujimoto wasn't really on a deadline when drawing this.
The quality of Fujimoto's art is still top of the line though. He's an amazing artist worthy of praise, just hope that people won't gobble this up and ignore all criticism of it.
It's revolutionary you mean. Only Fuji would dare to make the same page four times.
