Chapter was okay, I liked the first half since it gave us the inner monologue of the male character. However, the glaring flaw of the manga still remains: we can't self-insert as Akane and we can't empathize with her. I still have hope that this is a setup for the dad to come back as the protagonist.
Otherwise, this might be better off in a shoujo magazine. If even we can't self-insert as Akane then there's 0 chance that younger boys can, who decide on what lives and what dies in WSJ.
