lord of the dawn is supposed to represent progress at all costs and the cold logic over feels of science, the main cast wouldn't have been able to progress without the whistle, their naivety has been time and time again thrust back at them but this time the "antagonist" just does what needs to be done for them to proceed and doesn't even point out what hypocrites the kids are for being so hellbent on descending yet not being willing to do what it takes

I am ok with it, because Mitty was such important person for Nanachi, and I can see her jumping to all that in the heat of the moment of finding Mitty again. Yeah yeah, she was resolute to have reg kill mitty to free her from her mangled body and stuff, but is still someone she was extremely emotionally attached to, so I can easily see her becoming irrational when seeing Mitty again, and be taken advantage on the spot too.

I really just think it was in poor taste to have a copy of Mitty just be down there. The arc was really about Reg and Faputa so I didn't mind putting nanachi on the back burner but there were better options than just putting her under a blanket and forgetting she existed until things were going haywire.

Slight misconception. Zoaholic still needs physical contact to transfer a conscious. It's just that all the instances of a person are still connected to each other, although it's implied in an earlier chapter that the forcefield of the abyss causes problems with this.

So he probably just sent down one "bondrewd" and some umbra hands all equipped with cartridges like we saw in the flashback. Whether that main body actually went back up the elevator or not rather than just sending up the resources and continuing to experiment is beyond me.
