You get this task of promoting a Japanese cartoon about magical animals and their pet owners to an audience can stomach sth like Sagwa the Chinese Siamese cat at best, if it's foreign. And even that was a really niche show.
On the other hand, you can't just air a cartoon with the protagonists named Satoshi, Takeshi etc. It would be confusing, nobody would remember who is who and don't even get me started on the 150 Pokemon.
The kids wouldn't think it's a fantasy world, they would literally think that Japan is full of "Satoshis from Masara town".

No, my city just have most of it tourist attractions in certain districts. The rest are just residential area. Most tourists don't bother go to there since there to see or do for tourists. The only kind of tourists that go there are those who had been here before, thus they know how to behave and where to get the good local stuffs.
