That could actually make her suspicious towards Aqua (or his family) that they were involved, particularly since it’s retroactively dead obvious what Aqua was looking for. That theater arc still haunts me. Like they made it such a big deal that it got rewritten and now it's not like the normal stage play but a very special one that requires some insane shit to make it work and then never elaborated, presenting it as a normal stage play. Theater arc was just that, a mistake. A blunder. It might have killed most of the hype but the few entertaining things in the manga can still go on like they're doing now, once we're out of that rut.

Just gotta make sure to stop doing random padding arcs with 10 side-characters that don't advance the plot in any way for now.

It was at the time the manga was trying hard to get the Act-Age audience. But in the end this kind of despair bullshit is Aka's forte.

Yes, I unironically believe aka just wanted to ape act-age after it got cancelled because both of its stage play arcs were extremely popular and pretty much made the series. It felt like he had very little planning on actually integrating it into the story, it was just there.
