I mean, is not impossible or even that unlikely for it to happen, but it still feels a tad silly.

This only makes him look even more hopelessly insane in my eyes. He just wakes up from a coma, previously being an unstable, but still "innocent" child, and the first thing he does after being offered training by someone other than daddy? The scene REALLY needed clear signs that Touya would be forcefully imprisoned if he said no to AFO's offer, or even a an actual stay as a prisoner before he broke out blasting everywhere. Happy sunflower man's words can be interpreted as having a dark undertone, but I think it falls short with how the focus shifts to AFO taking over the conversation. As it stands, it ends up looking like Touya just sperged out when offered an alternative to daddycock and nothing else.
It's like, we as readers know that the whole orphanage situation is fucked up and Touya is technically a prisoner/lab rat there, but Touya himself doesn't have reason be feel threatened with the happy environment and the appeals to reason the guy in charge makes to encourage him to stay, yet in response we get a super yandere death stare and a burned building.
