The Judge-clown is translating what the devil is asking for ([redacted]), and Desha is readily agreeing it.
On a speculative note, if Desha can't understand the devil himself, I wonder if the clown is translating faithfully or manipulating the situation.

As someone who doesn't approve of the HH scan job, I also don't know if my shitty typeset should be uploaded on dex. I really hope that the re-done official translation will be high-quality work and that it quickly catches up to the second arc.
For now, I'll post the next two chapters I did. As always, I welcome alternative interpretations of the frustratingly-contextual language I translated from.

I will genuinely miss Doumas and Hokuro and Bebin. The other's stories are at least told but I feel like Doumas in particular is still in need of a genuine redemption and I would like to see at least a short scene of what has become of Hilling and Doumas a year or more later, though I think that will happen at some point.

Someone could always typeset it anew with the new scans but credit you as the actual translator if you were fine with it.
Right now we cannot do much anyway since we only have the flawed scans. Kind of sad nobody ever scanned the actual volumes. If my scanner wasn't broken I would even consider buying them and rip them (apart) because this series deserves better and who knows if HH will even upload the rest. I guess they scanned it themselves which is honestly a surprise to me.

The first bubble here is clunky, but I felt that the "driven by desire" part was important. It seems that the desires of Kings to collect the reward at the top of the Ranking are exactly what the Ranking is preying on.

Yeah same. Desha is around a head bigger than Ouken but the captain is huger.
The art is of course inconsistent but the relative heights of that guy compared to the rest seems constant in the sense of always being bigger.

I chose this wording deliberately, but please imagine that the word "King" is italicized. This line could alternatively be "I no longer see the qualities/temperament/disposition of a King in him". The impression I have is that the Ranking association here has a very specific understanding of what a "King" is.

Technically Desha disappearing or even losing his memories doesn't mean he isn't a king anymore, not per se. Maybe an amnesiac king, but illnesses rarely ever prevented kings from staying kings unless they decided to retire themselves.
It must be something more. Some special meaning "king" has in that world, maybe some sort of inherited power that is more than a simple secular-political position.
