Its good, I get why people are upset about the fruit change but I don’t think it really negates Luffys hard work in the past. Plus, he has always had the destiny thing going for him since the beginning.
Gear 5 itself is a great design and seems like it might save us from the Haki/power up stacking nonsense that ends up killing most battle shonen and at the same time allows Oda to write more freely.
I think overall this might be the turning point that saves One Piece from its Post-TS shortcomings
