One day left. What are we hoping for in this new series?
Tiger and Bunny 2

im hoping there's less gay stuff and some cool antagonist. I watched it a long time ago but I think the lawyer hero was cool
Just noticed the original anime on netflix is this cursed brandless version.
youtube.com
I assume this just exists because whatever licensing deal was made has expired but I wonder if eventually that'll strike the second season too and they'll have to take down or replace the episodes.
are they doing 2 batches?
It's 25 eps
Last I checked Hulu had the ad version. Though that was years ago.
Exploring Ouroboros.
it better have ads like last time. the idea of hero corporatization was actually done well in the original compared to something like one punch man or my hero academia and it's integral to the show's character and themes. that aside, they need bring the underworld to the forefront. some more episodes focused on the side heroes like last time would be really nice. I found sky high's focus episode to be very charming. I hope if they decide to add new heroes they limit it to 1 or 2 at most.
Yes.
Less than 24 hours.
Just watched The Rising. What was the fanbase’s reaction to it when it dropped? Thought it was pretty pointless, tried to be a sequel movie but it was bogged down by too much fillershit. This unfortunately includes Ryan. Was expecting him to be a bigger deal than someone who just whines all the time. I still wanna fuck him so he gets a pass, but still.
>I assume this just exists because whatever licensing deal was made has expired
Yeah, probably. S2 has different sponsors and I assume they don't want to share.
TR is mostly about giving Kotetsu some proper character development and closing the hanging issues. Ryan was pretty popular IIRC, about 3rd or 4th after Tiger, Barnaby and maybe Sky High.
>I hope if they decide to add new heroes they limit it to 1 or 2 at most.
The trailer shows 2 new heroes. I doubt they'll add more.
3 new heroes, not two. Looks like T&B are going to become foster parents to the new kids.
It's pretty interesting how Japan can look at something like combining corporatism and superhero and come out with an uplifting and optimistic classic super hero stuff while in America you end up with The Boys.
>Netflix
I hope it gets cancelled.
>What are we hoping for in this new series?
fun
The Boys is awesome, though. It's good to have choices.
More doujins
Finally resolving Lunatic's storyline. Surely someone's gotta find out about his identity, and there should be some fallout from him being not only a major public figure in Sternbuild but also Mr. Legend's son. If that whole backstory only exists for the sake of irony only the viewers will see, that's a real waste.
Considering the current oversaturated state of superhero media, I'm not sure what's left to do that hasn't already been done by BNHA, Marvel, Sony-Marvel, WB-DC, the Boys, Invincible, or Watchmen.
Canon gay romance between the MCs.
Katsura extended universe where Sternbild is the result of Kouga dumping the Amagi Corp. resources into creating a corporate superhero town and NEXT are stabilized Player-human hybrids.
>The Boys
The message of the original comic is basically "fuck superheroes, they're SHIT" and it's made by an edgelord (who did NOTHING wrong) Dropped the show after they fucked up the 9/11 scene.
Amerika does love it's shallow opposition to The Man, I know nippon has plenty of works where the corporation is the bad guy though I wonder how widespread the "fuck the corporations maaaan" mindset is in real life.
Yeah, I feel like Japan's counterculture movement (at least in film/tv/manga) ended a decade or two ago and now Korea's taken up the flag instead. I doubt there will be any anti-capitalist media with actual teeth coming our of Japan or the US, especially with the imminent flare up of capitalism vs. communism once again.
12 episodes tomorrow?
Oh wait I just checked, we get 13 episodes. Second half later on.
Way to kill the hype.
Seems like a standard cour split nowadays, minus the batch release.
Fuck, it's a batch release? This sucks.
Netflix binge culture is a mistake
Don't most streaming releases work like that?
>Ryan
I just watched it too and I've been wondering the same. What was the point of his character? He really didn't do much of importance plot wise other that wedge Tiger and Bunny apart. I actually kind of liked that even though he was a cock, he and Barnaby actually came to an understanding somewhat and worked together as partners. It seems like a waste to just throw him away after the movie like that end credit scene said.
The official answer that he was there to serve as T&B's "cupid". Other than that, it was pretty cool to see Barnaby have a peer and an equal for once (because let's face it, he doesn't find other Heroes to be particularly interesting or impressive) and he also showed Kotetsu that no, Barnaby wouldn't be better off with someone "better" than him as Kotetsu's low self-esteem would like him to believe.
Does that change the fact that it's a mistake?
She's so hot
>hot as fuck in costume
>completely unappealing as her real self
Why.
In costume she looks older.
I think it's more about the overall demeanor. As Blue Rose she acts more like a woman, while Karina is obviously a kid.
I'm afraid you are a faggot or a tastelet.
my pepsi goddess
The fucken OPs for the first series were soo good. I hope they have good OPs like last time.
*Antonio episode
*Nathan episode
*Ouroboros full reveal
*magnetic NEXT reveal
*scarf-tan mastermind reveal
This too. The one thing I disliked about the first season was that Lunatic's only purpose in the finale was saving Kitetsu (and punihsing MAverick I guess).
>pepsi
She's Coolish now. It's also her only sponsor, kek.
Fuck this guy
I hope Netflix & Sunrise gay the fuck up outta them but still make a kino superhero story
My only concern is that the new boys are gonna hold the spotlights and make the season about the rite of passage
T&B isn't as big as JoJo, so maybe we can follow the example of snekbros and pretend it's weekly.
>My only concern is that the new boys are gonna hold the spotlights and make the season about the rite of passage
Well, there's little else the season could be about after most development for the MCs happened in S1. Kotetsu's arc was about middle-age crisis, so it's just natural that the next step is passing the torch to the younger generation.
I'm nervous.
>The grand-grand-children's of Kirill and Doug
Mfw all the jokes are Suguru telling Thomas he looks like a girl
The pre-release interviews kinda hinted there would be a lot of changes, so I don't think the rite of passage will be the point. The most curious remark was the part when the staff swore the story was written before the pandemic and wasn't inspired by it, so any similarity will be purely coincidental.
>yfw Sternbild gets hit by a plague
Ryan is just the universe telling Barnaby that he was a dick with Kotetsu in his time and the villain was a reflection of his old vengance self.
I'm kind of sad that they never treat Kotetsu trauma with being a hero since he's basically stuck here cuz of his dead wife's last wish and the idealism of that Mr. legend represented
Blue Rose will die to make to the fujos happy.
>Mfw there's a Nathan and Pao-ling trans episode
Kotetsu was the one being a dick to most people in the early episodes, user. He was objectively self-absorbed and irresponsible. His hero idealism had warped into a crutch for making himself feel better about himself and superior to others. Recall how he would shit on Sky High of all people even though as we later find out, Keith is pretty much a saint and is also far more effective at the whole "saving people" thing as well.
My kid brother is obsessed with Mega-Man, and this is similar so he’s really into it too. I promised I’d start watching the new season with him during spring break. Can I get a rundown on what the series is about? So far, all I’m getting is a pro-type My Hero Academia except with only adults and bad cg.
Nathan is already non-binary as kids these days call it.
MHA is a fightan shounen, T&B is a character drama in a superhero costume.
>t. jealous fujoshit
He's not. Genders aren't real. It's a mental illness. A biological male is a male, a biological female is a female. You can't and won't change that.
It's basically widowed Superman with a mid age crisis forcibly paired with batman. Doing goofy/serious superhero shenanigans.
The plot is slightly predictable but totally enjoyable... But I don't think a little boy would enjoy it as much as an adult
