The great debate...
The great debate
person who typed out the caption gets absolutely zero male attention
I do this, but I'm married, and the bars aren't always loud.
Women are retarded.
suppose u even did want to talk to her about that book...
>vault yourself up into some awkwardly high chair
>lean over and shout into her ear "what are you reading?!"
>WHAT?
>WHAT ARE YOU READING?"
>she flips over the front cover: Where The Crawdads Sing
>OH COOL
>look around desperately to see if friend came back from the bathroom
bars are such shit they should just be abolished and replaced with something that doesn't suck
I'd pick her up. Seems lonely enough.
My question would be whether or not the bar is actually busy. It could be slow time.
Once saw a guy in a nightclub reading a book on the dancefloor
Asked him what he was reading
He told me he'd been doing experimental drugs for 4 days
I responded, yeah i didnt ask that
I actually like reading in cafes because of the noise, it just blends into itself and I dont hear it
Hearing one loud noise in isolation that breaks the silence isn't comparable to constant background noise
But yeah sitting at the bar with a book is stupid
ever considered Sneed's?
He was clearly having a blast.
>be dragged to bar by friend
>stupid friend leaves for whatever reason temporarily but forever
>pick up book from handbag
>hope I look unapproachable
See it differently. The book was a mere prop to brag about drug usage to strangers
>be judge mental asshole
>notice someone minding their own business
>create schizophrenic narrative for them in your head
>take a photo of them without their consent
>put it on the internet with a snarky caption
What’s wrong with people? Why is everyone seething at everything now?
think i've been once or twice when it was called something else
I read and write at bars all the time. I like the noise—being surrounded by all of that conversation and clatter actually makes me focus more intently than silence. I’ve no idea why someone would care about a person doing this but it doesn’t matter to me and it definitely doesn’t seem to matter to the girl in OP’s pic
That would be quiet elaborated for someone who‘s been on drugs for 4 days but one can‘t rule it out.
do you make up fictitious scenarios in your head fulltime or is it just a hobby?
That was a male who typed that.
"pick me" is a phrase used by lonely resentful women on that other site
the internet is unironically the most devious tool the powers that be ever devised to keep the masses busy with bullshit. a world wide web expressly designed to tangle up the entire planet and have it constantly boiling with hate, malice, envy and resentment
Once you stop worrying and acknowledging people who are borderline retarded, life becomes enjoyable.
Just a hobby.
OP is an L.
True, though I don’t think it was intentional. It’s really just since maybe the start of 2021 that it’s reached a fever pitch. Even in real life people are much more confrontational and aggressive over nothing than they’ve ever been in my memory.
>>take a photo of them without their consent
Are you a redditor? I only see redditors get gamer rage over trifles like this.
>pick me
a femoid insult against other girls
I think it’s a function of getting older. I remember being really insecure about eating by myself in restaurants when I was in my early 20s. Now, I’m 28 and it’s one of my favorite things to do.
Same with going to bars and reading. I was hyper-preoccupied with what everyone was thinking about me being at a bar reading (positively or negatively), and now I just read. Some attitudes are uniquely facilitated by age
>confusion towards rude behavior is Reddit
Okay
This. It's easier for me to concentrate in loud places than in silent ones. In libraries in stuff I always feel like someone is judging me, but in squares and cafes everyone is preoccupied with eachother.
drugmongs love telling people about all the drugs they've done.
yes, and they get zero male attention
Yep. You're definitely a redditor.
>Yep. You're definitely a redditor.
Do we know his race? I'd like my prejudices to be foiled.
Did you just record that video of yourself?
>>take a photo of them without their consent
What kind of reddit shit is this? Grow up faggot.
lol what a silly thing to ask on a literature board
If I have to go to a bar I take my e- reader I don't give a fuck. I hate beer and I hate bars.
>if I have to go to a bar
Why would you have to go to a bar? Is your mom dragging you there or what?
glad someone else sees the madness in current day. cant do anything without tripping up npcs
Kek true
not that user but people have gotten killed over that in the past. you all are clearly zoomers. taking pictures of people you don’t know is not normal.
I did that when I was 14 in a school dance
You will be a powerful Wizard one day
It's narcissism. The bookworm is offensive to the photographer because
1) she's competition for male attention
2) it's a reminder of her own literary neglect
She has to make a comment on it to satisfy her own insecurities
'pick me' is a phrase used by women to call other women sluts. men don't use that phrase
big yikes my dude
nah that sounds like something I probably considered at one point
reading at the bar is the grown up equivalent of going into a public swimming pool with your shirt on
>whore tries to shame a woman for reading
Finding a woman who actually reads is pretty rare, literally leagues above whores who are glued to their phones
>reading a book at a bar means you don’t give a shit about other people’s impressions of you
>wearing a shirt at the pool means you absolutely care about other people’s impressions of you
Yes surely these are the same. Unless you’re saying that nobody actually reads at a bar and it’s all for show, in which case you’re just projecting your own narcissism.
That caption feels like it was written by a woman
It definitely was. There's an indignance to the caption that a man just wouldn't have in this situation. A man would be more likely to present the image with a caption signaling bewilderment, something like "who the fuck brings a book to a bar?" This is entirely because of what says
t. woman expert
I do this too. I'm autistic about routines, and for me it helps to go to one specific place where all I'm going to do is read. If I do it at home I get distracted by too many things.
The background noise makes it comfier and the people who work at my cafe now know me, tell me they're glad to see me, talk about their days with me, and give me all my coffee for free.
everyone is, women just don't need to prove anything to get a partner tho.
>i like to go to loud ass bars and have so little fun that making fun of strangers becomes entertaining
also, as someone who likes drinking when reading I really enjoy going out alone with a book, especially when the place has a nice beer garden. it's also easier to end up meeting people than at a cafe for example and beer is good
Lucky man
Yeah, sometimes I go alone to a restaurant to read. It's one of my favourite things to do: you get to enjoy your book, eat a great meal, read some more between the courses and enjoy the atmosphere. I've seen a fair few others do this too so I don't think it's odd.
Based girl. I don't know how to approach thots but I know how to approach girls into reading. I'd pick her for sure and fuck the girl who posted it on ig. Probably an illiterate
this lol
ONLY AT MILLER GROVE
She's probably black. She probably got extra triggered by the blonde hair.
People who do this type of shit are cringe and probably not worth talking to. What's the point of going at all? Like your one nerd friend who brings all his gaming shit on a week vacation somewhere nice instead of a book. But why a book in a bar?
>But why a book in a bar?
maybe she enjoys reading and enjoys going to the bar...
>probably not worth talking to
Imagine if she just wants to be left alone and drink a beer on tap. Hard to imagine, I know.
Maybe to pick up lit chads.
also she might work there and be having a meal before her shift starts..
