You can often spot an American book from the gilded age. It has a certain quality to it that you won’t find in books made in Great Britain.

I found this at my university library yesterday.

Holy shit. Is that WALNUT wood? Dare I speculate, that you, good sir, CONSTRUCTED this delightful shelf? Please be so kind as to derail the thread with 10 photos of your magnificent shelf and 10 additional posts detailing the construction process.

Depressing lack of brazilian/portugese lit. Start with Haroldo de Campos and expand from there.

I like, Pléiades :3.

Did you study lit in uni? Lots of poetry on here, the Hart Crane makes me think you either went Ivy League or read some Bloom.

How is Narnia? I know it's YA and Christian, but how is the story? I enjoyed his space trilogy and was thinking about picking it up, especially now that I have a child.

They stirr an instinct of protection in me, i never dare to bring them outside haha. Are you french user ?

there was an user here before who posted pics and his entire upstairs was an overstuffed library or something similar, if that was your pics post them again pls

Haven’t read it yet. Like most of the people on Yea Forums I’ve probably only read about 30% of the books I have. I imagine Narnia is quite charming though, if you can get into the right frame of mind for it.

Academic, studied French as a child, through college, and read it still because it's easier than German and I can't read Russian.

I understand the instinct, and I'm delicate with the older editions, but they're also cheap in the us. Two of these were free and the rest were under 25.00. that Montaigne was 19.99.

I'm happy to know that readers of french in America can also appreciate and afford these wonderful books. They sometimes go for a 100 euros each in France ! Traditionally binded books feel warm and alive, and this collection truly has a special soul.

Please let those records have more space, you're damaging them by having them so tightly together

Took this picture a few weeks ago. By now I got some more books but I'm currently on vacation.
