Is it true that the Fafner franchise is pretty huge in japan while generally ignored in the west? What causes such a huge disparity?
I've been watching Dead Aggressor lately, its been decent for the most part but by episode 8 I got pretty hooked. Would love to see some discussion on the franchise since I see it mentioned often, but never really discussed.
I wouldn't say huge, but decently sized. Wouldn't still be getting stuff 15 years later if it wasn't.

I like it for its distinct look, haven't been exposed much to it though. The facial geometry i spretty confusing though and I find that weird blush everyone seems to have on their cheeks a bit irritating.

I'm not really knowledgable enough with mecha to consider going there but I can see it'd be easier to get a discussion for it going over there

The first season got dubbed, while the sequels are all unlicensed as far as I know. Guess season 1 didn't catch on in the west.

I only watched the original subbed years ago and for some reason never tried watching the others.
Weren't there suppose to be more movies in April?
1. Original series
2. Right of Left (OVA, similar art to the original series, not bad overall. A prequel so expect turbosuffering)
3. Heaven and Earth (Movie, art style and action significantly improved, sequel to the original series, must watch)
4. Exodus (sequel series, also excellent art and action, must watch)
5. The Beyond (sequel "series" currently being released in cinemas 3 episodes at a time, only the first 3 episodes have been subbed. Also as above)
If you liked DA, You're going to fucking love the rest of the franchise.

Weird question but will it end with the beyond? I want to get into it, but I'm wondering if this series will have a proper ending, or will I have to wait a decade or more for it to end.
Don't know. The Beyond is supposed to be 12 episodes so half have released in Japan and we only have subs for a quarter.
I guess I should at least wait for Beyond to end and get subbed, before I jump in.
