Agreed but at the same time I think it still does a very good job with the art, the backgrounds are drop-dead gorgeous and shit like the Sorcerer's World has been brought to life near-perfectly in the anime. the Blue Night episode was utterly fantastic from a visual standpoint.

True. I do think the animation team working on it really love the manga and want to pay it tribute as much as they can, and the backgrounds are a prime example of that, and so are the original ED.

I like it, but it really suffers from the Inuyashiki syndrome: low quality cgi for characters and extremely rushed pace compared to the source material.

The CGI isn't really low quality honestly. If anything it's surprising just how well it blends in with the rest of the show most of the time, there's very few CG shows that look as 2D as dorohedoro does in shit like stills and screencaps.

There's 2 big cuts but also multiple little stuff removed here and here. And besides the cuts the pace is relatively fast, sometimes plans would come in a very quick succession without taking the time to plant the atmosphere. I remember some scenes in the second or third episode were the pacing is so fast entire movements would be cut between plans, with characters teleporting around with little to no connection of motion inbetween.
