If you're willing to read a super serious story, go read Agatha Christie or something. If you don't accept that some event could not happen without a fair amount of luck, and if you only accept characters that are 100% morally white or black then the plot would be extremely bland and limited. "Bad" characters teams up with a "good" characters and the plot is suddenly "cheesy" and "unrealistic" ? The basement reveal, even though it lead to some of the best moments in the series, basically killed any world building possible for the series. It turns out there's only nine titans because reasons. The Female Titan is actually defined by being a female, no explanation given as to what would even happen if a man got it. The Attack Titan has the most ridiculously OP ability outside of the Founder, and all of Eren's life has been directed and planned by it. The Beast Titan apparently is just shitty and only Zeke makes it viable, even though its throwing abilities have nothing to do with royal blood, somehow no one thought of using the arms of the titan with giant arms in 2000 years. The manga sort of forgets about all the possible enhancements they've shown titan could get with simple injections, even though Marley bases its entire military power on titans and has presumably the most advanced titan science in history.

I could just go on and on about more of this and other things. The bottom line is that Isayama will sacrifice writing if it makes for a cool moment, or even if it makes things easier for him.

I don't think it would be better, but you could make an engaging exploration and expansion story out of that premise. Less dramatic personal stakes and more comfy planning, inventing, and constructing. The problem is that without shifters or a huge tech upgrade, there's no way to build new walls, which are pretty much the only practical and 100% reliable defense against enemies of that size. So it would just become a battle of attrition--refining weapons, traps, and battle tactics until the titan population on the island was depleted. And there'd be nowhere to go after than without a significant timeskip.

We're not getting a peacefag ending, there is literally no way the story could end on the page Isayama spoiled ages ago in a way where the world's left in a peaceful state where Eldians risk no chance of being discriminated against for their blood.

I honestly do think a large majority of the cast are going to die at the peak of their development since I really don't see Isayama ending the series on a happy note. The last chapters are going to purposely mislead people into thinking the Alliance will actually stand a chance until it comes crumbling towards the end.

Based. This is exactly right. The Return/Marley arcs have proven that peace between Eldians and Marleyans is absolutely impossible. The fact that Eren has started the Rumbling means that there is NO WAY the rest of the world will forgive Paradis.
If Eren is killed and the rumbling stops, the rest of the world will completely raze Paradis. There's no way around it. They won't see Eren as "the devil of the world", they'll just see him as an Eldian. An Eldian who tried to end the world, and because of this ALL Eldians will be forced to take the blame out of fear.

Yes and no. If we get proper developement for Reiner, Annie, Levi, and Hongo than that will go quite a ways towards making them believable and enjoyable. Armin and Mikasa probably won't grow at all until they reach Eren, because their stories are tied to his.
