It has some fun games. The OP was the best of its year. I probably would rather read the manga than watch the anime.

Elon Musk likes it enough to recommend

Best yuri gabling show out there.

It's decent softcore porn. The games are all shit.

They're average as far as gambling manga go. Better than Kaiji, worse than Liar Game.

No they aren't, retard. The games in Kakegurui are all arbitrary, unquantifiable shit like "we gamble on throwing little swords in a glass and we see if they fall into holes". The games themselves aren't the greatest part of Kaiji (except minefield mahjong, that shit was cash) but they're far better than Kakegurui. It's even worse if you compare Kakegurui to Liar Game.

You're just wrong about the nature of Kakegurui's games, and I don't know where you got that impression. They're majority card or board games with extremely clear rules. Kaiji's games just plain suck dick, the pachinko arc wasn't even a fucking gambling manga it was just 200 chapters of them pulling off a single trick and then funneling balls into the machine until they won.

Sure.

95% of games in this can be reduced to the opponent blatantly cheating only for yumeko to reveal she knew everything all along because she's so good and gambling makes her orgasm. watch it if you want your dick hard, it's not worth it otherwise.

Don't think of it as gambling, it's basically YGO with big titty girls

>They're majority card or board games with extremely clear rules
Some of them are this way, but they usually have shitty rules that leave lots of holes that no player ever exploit, and stupid arbitrary bullshit happens everytime.

Remember that second game Yumeko won because she memorized 100 marks on the backs of the cards in a few seconds? Turning cards sure was a compelling gamble, wasn't it?

Even part 1 Kaiji games (the worst of the series) have better uses of tactics and more ways to be challenged (like buying a majority of cards in RPS). Part 2 Kaiji games were more puzzle than games, but they worked incredibly well. Chinchiro was a simple dice throwing game but figuring out the trick and baiting Ootsuki into the gamble was the real mindgames part. Part 3 Kaiji had an actually deep and intricate game and showed that FKMT, unlike Kakegurui-guy, actually cares about "how would the meta work in this game I made up?".

Hell yes! The main character giving her opponents nervous breakdowns every time she wipes the floor with them is sooooooo satisfying!

I mean, that's the nature of gambling manga, yeah. The major difference with kakegurui is that instead of using her opponent's cheating as a secret counter to win, Yumeko prefers simply to neutralize it so that the game becomes a true gamble.

YGO is actually good though.

Not really, Liar Game doesn't have cheating. And usually Kaiji gets fucked by the cheating before he can figure out something.

Yes, once the opponent's cheat was neutralized it did become a compelling gamble. And I just don't agree that Kaiji's use of tactics is in any way better, every strategy they come up with is so fucking basic it drives me up the wall. Better manga understand that no one wants to read about all the entry level tactics that idiots would come up with, and finds good reason to skip past all of that, but FKMT is too stupid to even come up with good strats, so he's stuck selling garbage to retards.

It's an anime about billionaire teenagers literally throwing their money around to fuck each other over. And yet somehow it has one of my favorite, most likable, most compelling casts in all of anime.

Kakegurui is really an action show where the fights are battles of wit, and they are all centered around instant surprise reversals that couldn't be properly written if the main gimmick wasn't gambling. But the way it is, it is some of the most fun I had watching anime in my life, honest.

Kakegurui has no business being as good as is it, but holy fuck is it ever good!

Only before the card game starts. It could've been as good as Kaiji.

as a gambling anime its shit but gambling isn't exactly the point
the point is billionaire kids throw money around to fuck with each other and the MC orgasms to gambling. that's the point and its glorious. plus the first OP is absolutely fantastic.

It has a male self-insert so bland and boring that it will make you appreciate every other white bread male anime MC; but get past that and its's awsome.

That's why he basically gets cut from the story as soon as they get to the consolation matches.

>Yes, once the opponent's cheat was neutralized it did become a compelling gamble.
How? It literally lasted about 25 seconds of Yumeko turning all the cards while making a smug face, because she somehow remembered all of the marks. There was no mindgame or trick at all.

>every strategy they come up with is so fucking basic it drives me up the wall
Outbuying a category of cards in RPS isn't "fucking basic", it's just the strategy that'd probably happen in real life.
Cutting off your own ear in E-card to fool the sensors isn't exactly "basic".
The whole bait thing during Chinchiro was intricate enough, and went deep into Ootsuki's mind, and how Kaiji planned everything, making a fool of him in public beforehand, hiding his plan from his friends, and most importantly, getting the crowd's approval so the gamble could work. It's about as deep as you can get with this game, and definitely fits the context.
Pachinko, too, is as deep as it could get, with the amount of obstacles and twists.

I'm not even getting started on Minefield Mahjong, or Akagi/Ten, because that shit was really well written, so it doesn't fit a Kakegurui thread.

>watching
No, not at all.
I recommend just watching the two OPs and EDs, and then reading the manga with the OST in the background.

ygo isn't fucking gambling though

Battle City was the best arc, faggot. Pre Card game was pretty badly written.

I'll admit, I never made it to Minefield Mahjong. Perhaps at some point the manga managed to learn more interesting strategies than just buying up all the cards you can, but I figured after 300 fucking chapters of garbage I'd given it a fair shot.

I'll send a faggot like you to the shadow realm.

I think people get confused by how much time Kaiji spends on meticulously detailing everything that happens. Its gambling is about as compley as any other "gambling" manga.

Ddid you even watch it? That's not how it is at all.
What Yumeko actually always does is doing something really risky and also stupid, so stupid her opponent falters and she wins due to her dumb luck. Most of the times she doesn't care people are cheating at all.

There's nothing wrong with the gambling in Kaiji, except a little in part 1, which has the weakest games. The Chinchiro arc is a masterpiece.

The main character has one of the greatest performances in anime. Her voice actress is pretty much putting on a tour de force show. You need to hear that shit for yourself!

I didn't say there's anything wrong with it, it's just that people always say that it's much more complex than what Kakegurui has to offer, and that's just not true.

Kaiji's gambling isn't good because it's complex, it's good because of the overall psychology and writing, and the relative lack of fucking bullshit happening out of nowhere. There are still some stretches to be made here and there, but they get plenty of foreshadowing and explanation.

It's not like, say, Liar Game where you read it for the games and tactics, but unlike Kakegurui, at least you won't groan while reading the stupid shit of the week.

S2 was fucking awful, Her cuteness make up for the show's flaws.

I don't groan, Yumeko is supposed to be a genius.

The psychological aspect is there in Kakegurui as well. It's just that rather than exploring the main character's psyche like in Kaiji, Kakegurui explores the psyches of the main girls' opponents.

It's not that Yumeko is too smart, it's more that everything that happens is either tolerable or really dumb.

>S2 was fucking awful
S2 made me feel that I am not alone in the world with my emotions.

I never felt that way. If you are saying that it's over the top, well, that's what anime is for.

It sounds like you just honestly don't like the good parts of gambling manga and want to watch stupid people competing against each other.

I didn't feel that way with Liar Game or FKMT works.
Although a lot of gambling manga did make me feel like that.

Because those are designed to stay grounded. Kakegurui aims for a different approach.

I guess it's not my jam then, especially with all these smug assholes

Unless you lesbians and wholesome yuri then it's right up to your alley.

I wanna' play all the games in this show.
