I guess we don't know if the timeline is locked like Back to the Future, or if every time you travel in time it creates an alternate timeline universe. My guess is that it is one locked timeline that keeps changing and can get messy like with old and young Weisz, but I guess if alt timeline versions of characters start to appear then we will know it isn't locked.

Drakken got it from Master Noah. It's not known how Noah knew what Rebecca's power would be, but it's most likely that he did some digging into her past and why she was abandoned, or maybe he studied her Ether readings and compared it to those who used her power in the past; it wouldn't be "forbidden" if it didn't exist before.

Just imagine if leaping through time actually creates chronophages, just like how creating Rave's parallel world created Endless.

Rebecca already changed history once before, during her fight with Nino: first, he punched her so hard she could've died in a few moments (you can see the blood from her mouth); second, she jumped out of the way (there is no blood from her mouth). Events can clearly be changed.

On an aside note, it's implied by their conversation about anime during the fight that Nino was being brainwashed to some degree, in case you thought a guy like him wouldn't go around killing people.

Shiki controls gravity, he doesnt need Rebecca to timetravel, he does need her to travel BACK in time though.
Gravity affects everything, its power is absolute, there is not a single particle, matter or concept known in the universe not affected by it, that includes time. Shiki can simply make himself into a black hole and time around him will slow down immensly while time in the rest of the universe moves at the same pace its always moved. He can simply sit like that for like what, 2 minutes and the rest of the universe will have progressed 100 years.

This is of course if Mashima decides to go with actual physics in his manga and not put a limit on gravity and its effects, because even the slightest increase or decrease in gravity will affetct the flow of time down to a fraction of a nanosecond.

She seems kinda unbeatable if she can actually learn to use the rewind at will.

The worst thing about Eden's zero is Mashima wasted the crossover in Heroes instead of having them randomly show up at the Fairy Tail planet for an entire canonical arc

I believe the Chronophages may play a part in that. The fact that both Weisz planet and frog guy's planet got their time eaten is no mere coincidence I am guessing.

Yeah, gachashit and idolshit killed the doujin market. We are lucky if we get a couple good doujins from a popular/seasonal series. Over 80% is gachashit or idolshit.

They seemed to be on the ship for a while before everything went to shit, and even after it did they got away for a good amount of time before stuff started falling apart.
So Rebecca has a lot of room to tweak things and could easily just get everyone the fuck out of there if they wanted to go that route. The bigger issue, however, is Labilla. Only way to save her is to go deep into Drakken's stuff and I don't know if Rebecca will be willing to abandon her.

At the same time, it really doesn't feel like they can beat Joe AT ALL. They may be able to fuck up the Element 4 with proper planning, but Joe is just on a whole other level and we haven't even seen him get serious.

If I remember correctly, the others are already on the ship by this point, so Rebecca’s best bet is to prevent Weisz from getting sniped since that’s the moment things went pear shaped. Also warning Hermit about Jack Skeleton

A lot hinges on the limitations and/or drawbacks of it. After FT I can understand the fear of it being a free out of jail card in the end.

This is just a hypothesis, but maybe Laguna somehow changed the shower water to match the bathwater in the Spa of Eden, which enhances a person's Ether. Since the EZ is now under Drakken's control, it's not impossible for his crew to learn its functions.

Nah. Laguna's a nice guy, but he's not someone on their side. He's the soft side of Joe's team.

I likewise don't agree with people thinking he's gonna join the crew at all. For one, his power's too weird to really fit in as a regular member of the team. Also he's more of a follower and condone's Joe's shit, seeing it as how things should be. He's kind, but also thinks the darkness of the world is okay so he's rather lacking in ambition.

The only ones I think could possibly defect from Joe are Maria for some representation in the crew beyond human and android (but again, she seems really loyal so it'd need some more to it), or the Wind siblings who both have clearly useful powers while also having enough distance from Joe to make the break reasonable (Kleene seems loyal, but Jinn definitely isn't and probably worries about his sister's situation).

That's partly the fault of the official translation's wording. According to the raw version, Drakken planned to extract Cat Leaper at the exact moment it fully awakened, before Rebecca could have a chance to use it; he didn't expect the awakening to happen as rapidly as it did.
