It's hard to balance the investment for Eren and his singular relationship with Hisu (which we hardly got to see develop in real time) and his unborn child with his relationships with the rest of his friends and family which we have more of a history with. I sympathize with Eren, but if it WAS all for his waifu I would not be as invested.
I don't have a kid yet, but I do think if my own child was on the line, I'd sacrifice my friends. Not sure about my family though.

In the end Eren chose Historia instead of his friends because she's the only one who would side with him. It's that simple. Even without the future memories Eren knew his friends would never agree with him, they were fated to walk different paths sooner or later and eventually they would have clashed, it was inevitable because of their differences and Eren didn't need to know the future to predict that.

This kind of thing happen irl all the time too, relatives, childhood friends and school mates eventually don't see each other anymore because the only thing that bonded them was an external forced circumstance like family or school, and not compatibility with each other. I believe that is exactly what Isayama wanted to describe.

Not showing Eren and Historia's povs is affecting the story in negative ways: a page in a volume had to be completely rewritten because a character was making assumptions about Eren's motivation, the rumbling has started for days and yet nobody in the main cast bothered to check if the pregnant queen is safe, Mikasa is stuck without being able to complete any character arc, Floch's authority keeps growing beyond any reasonable ammount just because the readers and other characters aren't allowed to speak directly with Eren, etc.
We are long past the point where a twist should have been revealed, while if it doesn't exist then there was no reason to keep shit hidden this late in the final arc

Honestly this. Most of her character revolves around a series of circumstances involving her. Not because she had any real goals or ambitions. I don't relate to or sympathize with her. Her arc was kind of generic, and she as a character is kind of boring.

Yes. The 3 whos had limited screentime but they were all cooler than most of the 104th to me. You can see their experience with their combat as well as their banter with their fellow vets. I liked the bond Team Miche had as well as team Hange.
In regards to Dykemir, her being killed off was Isayama hackery but that's besides the point. She had amazing chemistry with most people that she talked to and I enjoyed watching/reading her scenes. The way she died was a shame though but can be explained (Marcel memories and that she was a selfless girl pretending to be selfish in contrast to Historia).
I much prefer these women to Historia, Mikasa and Annie.

"The world itself is a giant forest", because the hatred between Eldians and humans won't end until one side is wiped out, or until Isayama asspulls a peace ending. But he also had a strong character outside of that destiny. A strong objective. Various character dynamics. Personal values. I feel like Historia has mostly just been a thing that has needed to be protected for most of the story. She wants to live a normal life and keeps getting swept up in stuff. It's understandable, just kind of dull. She's not the only character like this, just one of the more prominent ones.
