So was it just plain bad or mediocre?

The first 13 episodes were pretty good and had a good direction, everything else was pretty fucking bad and as a love story is just fucking bad, can't believe people unironically consider it the greatest love story in anime.

Because it's a story, that has love in it and most "love stories" people are used to are bereft of story. It's usually just self-insert romance porn.
So if that be all one has ever seen, then this appears outstanding by comparison, just as Madoka appears outstanding just for being compared to "magical girl".

It's objectively the most overated anime ever. it's a solid 4.5/10

Dude, Dragon Ball exists.
Even if Dragon Ball were averages rated 3/10; it would still be the most overrated thing in existence. Dagon Ball's glorying in it's own terribleness and how much it contradicts itself five episodes later merits a negative rating.

Forced drama is always bad.

Don't care about the actual anime, but the OST is god tier.

More like Shitgatsu wa Jimi no Kuso lmao

It was okay. Despite consuming
melodrama like hotcakes Yea Forums dislikes it solely because it got somewhat popular with normalfags.

It's one of the best anime out there. Fite me

It's a show about how music changes people's lives. The romance comes second.

True. Yea Forums will never enjoy something in the top 25.

Garbage telenovela for mexican grandmas.

It's shit and you're shit. Fuck melodrama when it's related to love stories, although the deal breaker was the random comedy skits. Absolutely awful.

lol

They are fucking teens. One heartbreak isn't the end of the world. This is why I hate teenager drama. Otherwise the music part is great.

It was okay and very forgettable. It's probably my fault for getting spoiled early on but none of romance felt impactful and Kaori or whatever the main girl's name was is completely retarded and just should've told Piano the situation. Basketball's drama felt like such a waste of screentime considering it's blatantly obvious she had no chances of winning. The performance scenes were nice though.

Emi deserved to win.

Everytime people preaching this, I cringe of how shallow they are knowing how service-level this was.

Aggressively mediocre for the most part. But there was real care and consideration given to the choices made for the OST, which bumps it up to half decent.

Give me a better show about how music influences people's lives. I've yet to see something that comes close to this show.

it's surprisingly popular with Normalfag in here

Sora no Woto, kinda.

S2 never ;_;

Perhaps didn't even close, but this is a good one.

>Lie in April
>lie was basically "I was pretending to cuck you with you bff"
story could go just full romance and tragedy, and at the end MC is learning to move on with his girl-bff
It was a wasted potential

Seen it, impressively boring.

Gonna move it up a few places in my plan to watch queue.

Kaori was a whore and im glad mc got the real ending

This anime IS just self-insert romance porn. Main character with zero personality or... well... dialogue has three 10/10 girls after him simply for existing. Doesn't help he also has black hair and glasses like 99% of Jap males.

neither

>heartbreak
It was more the fact that she died young without ever giving the final duo performance. It's not like she just moved to another country.
