Previously, more news pieces for Kanade as her school friends noted that she's started to get popular. At the studio Kanade noted that the pas de deux for Flames of Paris didn't actually feature a lot of man/woman dancing but their teachers told them it was chosen because it'd be a little easier for pas de deux beginners, plus Akito already knew the role. However it wound up being more challenging and tiring than they expected.
Kanade bemoaned her lack of muscle compared to Akito while he was down about still not being expressive and being generally too shy to fit in at the YAGP which has made him nervous about the fact he's going to be attending the Joffrey School in Chicago after the summer. But Kanade told him to approach the role from a "revolutionary" standpoint in that it'll shape how their careers are moving forward.
Afterwards she and Shouko were asked by Julia about any romantic couples in the YAGP but both were ignorant of that. Talking to Sakura, Kanade learned that she would be coming back to Japan for the gala dancing with another Japanese student from her school in Munich. Kanade was happy to be dancing at the same event as her and Sakura told her that her attitude would get her far and congratulated her on her win and scholarship. At Sakura's old school one of the German boys she's regularly partnered with was clearly crushing on her.
At school Kanade's friends Hikari and Yuki asked her about feelings of intamcy practicing with boys and Hikari offered to "help" Kanade get used to the feeling by trying to set her up with her friend who was interested in her... but Kanade didn't take the bait and declared that thinking of her love of ballet would probably be the same. At practice her and Akito's expressions had improved but the choreography still tired them out.
Poor Yuuki. Kanade's already way too dense to pick up any but the most blunt statement and he's way too much of an awkward dork so he spaghettis instead of telling her outright.
And that's it. Anyway this whole volume has had a somewhat more melancholy feel to it even in spite of Kanade's big victory because of the looming knowledge that everything's about to be upended.
That's all for this time. Next time is the last chapter of this volume.
