Orphen and slayers were my first anime. Here's hoping DEEN doesn't do a slayers reboot

Looking at Revolution, I'm afraid to let anyone touch Slayers. The last thing we need is more rejected Pokemon designs running around.

We don't need a retro anime board. I'd sooner divide manga and anime before that.

I thought /ar/ would be a good idea too, until I stopped and thought about it. The board would only be populated by the 50-150 people on Yea Forums who populate pre-2000 generals, and a ton of Toonami retards from Yea Forums, Yea Forums and Yea Forums who don't care for anime beyond what aired dubbed on American television stations in the 1990s.
It would be an extremely slow board ripe with the same repeated discussions that people have already had decades ago. All the anime that people care about would turn into echo chambers because people have discussed the same exact points in early forums in the 90s, and in forums and discussion boards in the 00s and 10s. There won't be any new, groundbreaking discussions or relevations about your favourite anime. And then, the shows that are obscure enough to actually get newer discussions would fall to the wayside because it's extremely unlikely that more than a handful of anons have watched that show, or are on at the same time period to discuss it.

An /ar/ board would look like Slayers general #1036 (Lina is cute!), Gundam general #6039 (I want Haman to step on me!), unironic 80s A E S T H E T I C threads made by retards who don't even watch the anime they're posting, mouthbreathing teenagers who'd rather complain about the state of modern anime than actually talk about older anime, clueless faggots who think Cowboy Bebop was revolutionary in any shape or form, at least 10 Rei or Asuka threads up at any given moment, and tons of shonen generals for series that are still ongoing just because they started in the pre-2000s, and Yea Forumsedditors with their soul/soulless bickering.

/ar/ wouldn't be like /vr/. At least with video games, your gameplay experience is unique to your actions and can warrant some new discussions. Glitches, bugs and exploits for older games are discovered all the time. With /ar/, you're discussing something that's been discussed for 20+ years and hasn't changed in the slightest.

It's actually better than the original, less filler and better animation at the cost of the artstyle and even then the new artstyle is not that bad, the only thing that bothers me is the fucking 3DCG carriage, you should rewatch Orphen if you really think that the reboot is worse.

I was around there and there was a thread about the director that directed windaria and some pokemon movies, it was really good.

Both of them were just re-telling Season 1 while using Volumes 4-6 of the light novels as a sugar coating to try and make it go down better. After coming up with the balls-to-the-wall story for TRY, the anime could have gone anywhere, but they decided to go back and adapt the books. Even worse, they didn't adapt at least Volumes 9-12 for the two half seasons, or at least pull the best parts of them. No Blast Sword, no General Sherra, no Dynast Grausherra, no human/mazoku Akira-hybrids...

All we got was Rezzo as a villain again, a Digimon, and instead of waking up a man driven insane from being consumed by Zannafar Armor that was imprisoned underneath a death cult's temple and having to fight a new Great Beast, we got a plot about a renegade bodyguard selling out his country to get Zannafar Armor to attack Saillune because they "didn't provide enough gibs to cure us" when REZZO couldn't cure them.

Shouldn't that be actually good, though?
Also, that might partially be because there's no real genuine hype original anime to talk about.
The seasonal favorites at this moment are just adaptions, which means that everyone already kinda knows what will happen.

J.C. Staff probably wouldn't hand Slayers off to DEEN at least. Although I don't know if modern J.C. Staff would be a good thing.
