ITT: Moments you dropped a series
ITT: Moments you dropped a series
Spoken like the kind of spineless syncophant pussy who wouldn't point a gun at their boss the second they were put in a situation where they could get away with it
It took you that long?
>he kept reading past the farm
kek, deserved.
What a battered wife.
We're like 10 chapters away from the end, might as well see it through.
>Dropping a manga on the last chapter
What?
took you this long to drop it eh? Chapter 169, damn time flies. I dropped it after too much moralfaggotery and retardation
This page still hurts me.
MC was already annoying as fuck but I dropped it when the drama train ramped up by killing off a side character for no reason.
Neverland became shit way before that, but this is hardly an asspull. Isabella was shown to have also been a rebellious girl when she was younger. Here she has the douchebag responsible for all their suffering and a chance of payback, of course she's going to take it.
I haven't dropped it yet because basically , except it's been like that for almost a year already
At this point idgaf anymore, I just want to see Emma die at the end because that's obviously the cost of her promise
this
if anything the fact they kept her alive is a much bigger asspull than this
> killed by a loli spinning her umbrella
i remember that
Ft manga when hiro cucked his readers in thinking lucy was dead and the story would become darker.
Never have I wanted to kill a man in fiction
>let's wait until earth
>let's not fuck on this fantastical moving city under the desert stars
>let's not seed and breed each of my very willing legal wives in order of marriage when everyone has already decided it's ok with them
>let's not fuck on earth either, time to get cock blocked
me too, i read for /ss/
>Moments you picked up a series
ftfy
that's an odd chapter to stop at, why?
I just try to ignore these two when i read the manga.
Which i don't really even do anymore.
It's really bad.
He's so fucking spineless. Deku makes me mad.
>I pick on you using my quirk, kill yourself.
>H-He would get in trouble and it would be my fault if I killed myself.
You guys do know that them being pregnant is a bad thing since the world is ending. They can fuck after the world is no longer in danger. Also stop thinking with your cocks.
what a shit excuse
>oh shit, this side heroine I introduced is way more popular than the main heroine
>I know!
>reading past the last chapter of a manga
Get a fucking life
>You guys do know that them being pregnant is a bad thing since the world is ending
You also know that the ring king gets stronger for just having sex with his brides. You don't even need to get them pregnant and we already introduced magical contraceptives. There is literally no excuse at all. 0. Nada.
>There is literally no excuse at all
He's a beta selfi-insert
God I can't believe Promised Neverland became a big hit. I've been reading it since chapter one, and I absolutely abhor this manga. Goes to shit after the first arc, and the only interesting character after the first arc gets killed off.
It was interesting when they were still at the orphanage and there was mystery left.
I stopped reading around the time Emma said she didn't want to kill the demons. Mama/Isabella came back? What is this?
Ill be honest, I never dropped a series because a particular moment.
I drop series because at some point I just get bored and don't read a few chapters in a row and never catch up, or because updates take so much that I literally forget I was reading it.
Jokes on you. You already read the whole goddamn thing.
They don't know if the magical contraceptives work or not. Also having sex turns you into a sex maniac just like the first Ring King.
incel spotted.
now you're just making excuses. everybody knows theyre going to fuck sooner or later, at least the main couples are.
the cuck is literally a piece on just dragging the plot at this point.
it wasn't that bad
These
If anything it makes sense that Isabella betrays Ratri, although I have no context since I stopped reading a year ago
In reality I should have seen this coming since it was shoujoshit, but I was starved for incest manga so resorted to reading this. Wasted my time considering it decided to reveal itself as NTR literally half-way through because no one bothered to tag it correctly.
That's what we call soft-dropping. OP is talking about hard-dropping.
Stopped reading Terra Formars after the roaches got to earth. I've been told I am not missing out on anything good.
It never gets better.
Thorfinn’s tirade about respecting people’s pronouns in the latest Vinland saga. Didn’t finish the chapter.
Only good thing about this is there's a mommy maid army out there.
Because Rangoku was a pretty cool guy and he dies on the very first mission we see him on and he didn't even kill the Upper Moon that killed him.
I dropped it when Hox dropped it. Shut became unbearable.
What is it with these last two chapters? Shit's hit a new low even after O MY DREAM OCEAN.
>Thorfinn’s tirade about respecting people’s pronouns in the latest Vinland saga
I hope this is a joke. But I wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't.
All the praise, all the hype, all the anons saying this manga was sooo good and how nen is such a great power system. And then I read it and it completely dashes my hopes with this red-eyed fucker. Fuck nen, it seemed like it was cool at first but really it's just "lol fuck you these powers do whatever the plot demands". Fuck HxH fags for getting my hopes up for this garbage.
Imagine being too unsmart and not very smart pilled to understand HxH

>lol fuck you these powers do whatever the plot demands
Tell me what story you read that doesn't do this?
Holy crap it's the salt shaker
i droped it around the bunker arc
come on user, you stayed too much time, nothing after the farm is good at all
Chapter 50 kengan omega
>lol fuck you these powers do whatever the plot demands
Oh don't worry, later on Pika eyes hax get even more bullshit
"Oh yea, i can totally steal hatsu now, it's not an asspull. You could have predicted it because i havent revealed all of my powers yet and this one is thematically relevant with my personal big baddie. Oh but i will die if i use it too much. At some point anyway. Maybe."
PSYREN, Rave Master, Yu Yu Hakusho, Claymore...
He's the sole the reason I dropped the series. I was actually looking forward to Gon and Killua's growth and the gum-clown guy was a cool villain that I wanted to see more of, but I just could not stand Kurapika. I also kept seeing stuff posted like pic related that made the series look like it might get better, but I just don't fucking trust it after that little fuck completely ruined my sense of immersion in the story with his gayass abilities.
"Hur, I don't have to be able to beat you, my ability just kills you because I say so cause you're a member of this specific group dur". Fuck that. I wanted to see cool applications and interactions of different power sets, not "I win because my ability is I win".
look, you can basically skip this arc and read the rest, Kurapika will not be around until last arc (current one).
If you dont like him ust skip Yorknew, although it's regarded as the second best arc.
>I wanted to see cool applications and interactions of different power sets, not "I win because my ability is I win".
You might enjoy greed Island, and you will surely like Chimera ants
>Deku snaps after years of abuse and kills Bakugo
>Ends up becoming a villain as he hides from the law or is radicalized in prison
Would it be kino?
lol if you think that's bad you're lucky you didn't read enough to get to Kite and Alluka
They're good friends
There was literally nothing wrong with this scene, everything from the Geass malfunctioning to Lelouch's wording makes sense.
god tier scene, based move by the writers
I dropped Soul Eater but I honestly don't remember why.
The last thing I remember is some mosquito guy or something along those lines.
Did I miss anything worthwhile?
>PSYREN, Rave Master, Yu Yu Hakusho, Claymore...
All of these series have powers that are situationally perfect for the moment. Rave Master is about accumulating these situational powers. Also Dark Brings were super convenient. YYH had a tournament arc where most of the Yusuke fighters got the perfect counter matchup to showcase their abilities. Claymore had people like Claire partially awakening just so they could get the right ability to save everyone. Didn't read PSYREN, but if it's like the rest it's also just as guilty.
Stop lying.
>PSYREN
This will never not be the most overrated trash I've seen on /a. Everyone claims it's great some sort of master piece when its a half finished rush messed where everyone buts three people powers just turned into DBZ fights.
To add on to this only the MC the main villian and the main villians right hand man were the only unqiue powers in the whole thing. But some how turning psyic power into DBZ aura that lets you fly and increases physical strength 100 fold is retarded and everyone can do it
While I agree that the examples user provides are also full of nonsense, not one of those series have anything that is even close to the level of Kurapika.
Kurapika is a guy who from his first appearance stated he would be hunting the troupe and wanted to do it alone. So he makes a suite of abilities that allow him to fight alone but they come at personal cost and drama during the arc.
The only people who find this objectionable are the same people that think Kurapika is OP. His strongest move only works on 13 people in the world. And any situation where he could use Judgement chain would be a situation where he's already won regardless. There was nothing wrong about Emperor time or his 4 chains. Just an over-reaction that has perpetuated for a decade and then some.
HxH just like any of the stories that user created are all about using abilities both as powers, and set pieces. Few people complain about Chrollo and his magic book that can contain any ability Togashi sees fit to give him and that's another person that has "does whatever the plot demands" abilities baked into it.
After dropping it I realized I should've dropped it earlier, what the hell was I thinking reading it until this chapter?
You get ONE (You).
still funny how MTSP destroying you little shits
This. I just didn't feel I was reading the same thing when they reached the bunker
ntr authors needs be strung up and shot in the street like animals
Still funny how people got triggered by this shitty story
>Waaaaaah my favorite character is dead waaaah
Gay as fuck
nearly half of every update for this is a fucking recap from a slightly different perspective.
i literally don't even read it anymore, i just skip to the end to see what the next cliffhanger is going to be.
>Claymore
This series was just asspull after asspull after asspull. It was absurd.
Kurapika should have had to find a way to actually kill each of them. Him having some super special unique ability that only works on these specific guys but can insta-gib them just makes me not care about the outcome cause I already know how it's gonna play out. It's just a dumb ability. Up until that point the nen abilities all seemed reasonable and like they followed a set of rules, but at that moment it's revealed that you can make absurdly specific requirements on your nen for absurdly specific abilities, just because you want to. It makes nen seem a lot less reasonable, cause it's literally "my nen does whatever the plot demands because I say so, because [insert limitation here]".
I don't care if a character is OP or not, I don't even think Kurapika is OP in general. He's just got a really stupid ability.
>This retard can't see the issue of killing off a character too quickly
I don't have a specific page but when Air Gear went from Rocket Inline Skating Competitions to...whatever the fuck it became.
YES!
>Kurapika should have had to find a way to actually kill each of them
He is but in a different way than having to counterpick each ability. You cannot do that in HxH, so he has a base group of powers and has to pick his fights very carefully. This is why he chooses to capture Uvo the first time to try and pump him for information, and also why he kills Uvo first to make sure Chain Jail works at all since it's the crux of his anti-spider powers.
> Up until that point the nen abilities all seemed reasonable and like they followed a set of rules
In that arc we get an understanding of how Vows work, a fundamental aspect of Hatsu. We also learn that specialists are a thing beyond just the name on a sheet of paper, then in 1 arc we get 3 specialist abilities to show how that category articulates in unique ways. Nothing about kurapika breaks any rules or are you going to be consistent and complain about Chrollo and Neon?
>just because you want to.
Nen abilities are ultra specific by design. You going to complain about Guido and Kastro having clones and tops?
>my nen does whatever the plot demands because I say so, because [insert limitation here]".
Again, that's a baseline for fiction in general and HxH specifically because every arc is based around abilities like this. Genthru is the next example of "I have X limitation and I can do whatever the plot demands." All the chimera ants and specifically Mereum + the royal guard are the same. And the current arc is about an entire family having super specific and plot perfect abilities for the sake of the story.
If you hated Kurapika, you must loathe all of HxH because it's much of the same all the way through it.
>Him having some super special unique ability that only works on these specific guys but can insta-gib them just makes me not care about the outcome cause I already know how it's gonna play out.
One last thing. Even with his perfect tailor made ability he only managed to kill 2 spiders. So unless you knew that was the outcome it subverts the idea that he would come out on top of all of them just because Chain Jail exists. And now that the spiders know about him and his 4 original chains the odds of him succeeding against them is vastly diminished, something already made apparent at the end of York New.
Look, if you like the super specific abilities then that's fine, but to me it seems like just a dumb cop out that the writer uses. Instead of the writer having to figure out how to use the characters' abilities in a special or interesting way, he instead gives the characters hyper specific abilities for certain situations that they're in.
I dropped the series at that fight against the strong fist guy, I don't know anything about the other characters you mention, so I can't complain about them. But yeah, you're right, if the rest of the series is gonna have these stupidly specific abilities that only make sense in the context of whatever is going on in the plot at the moment then it's probably good that I dropped it when I did, cause I wouldn't like it.
>but to me it seems like just a dumb cop out that the writer uses
It didn't allow Kurapika to kill all the spiders in the arc it happened so I don't see your point or how it was a cop out. Kastro made a clone specifically because he thought it would be tailor made for killing Hisoka. Is that a cop out as well?
>I don't like that this specific ability explores the power system in a specific way out of the many powers the series has
>I don't care that his difficulties in killing Chrollo ended up being from character exploration rather than power match ups
I mean, you're allowed to have shit taste, sure.
"I don't like this singular power and can only be pessimistic about the future applications and assume that this is the rest of the series"
