Watch it again. I didn't really get it on the first viewing because I was distracted by all the weird shit going on. It rewards multiple viewings. And it's only 12 eps so it doesn't take long to rewatch.

I haven't watched/read a lot of shit Yea Forums circlejerks over. I have however watched Lain. It was something I had known about since the early to mid 00s but never really got around to watching it until later than that. Or maybe I did watch it back then but forgot.

I have. I even tried rewatching it. It's boring. Terribly paced. The message is absolutely garbage. The main character is a compulsive liar who is enabled by the useful idiots she surrounds herself with. It panders to a crowd of mentally stunted tech babies. Muh techloligy waifu is all you need to know about this boring series.
